Chapter 1954: Chapter 1951: Misunderstood Again
"Brother Lin, did Zhang Zhicheng commit some offense?" Zhang Mingxing was still a bit confused, unsure of what happened. Given his hearing, he probably missed some of the conversation.
Lin Tian patted his head and laughed, "Kiddo, it’s better not to know about these kinds of things. Anyway, it’s just a mistake."
Upon hearing this, Zhang Lingyu rolled her eyes at him, thinking, wasn’t it you who caused all this in the first place? Now you realize it’s not suitable for minors? However, she felt no sympathy for Zhang Zhicheng’s punishment; he had only himself to blame for provoking Lin Tian.
The three of them ignored Zhang Zhicheng and continued to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Qingtan Town. Although Zhang Mingxing was a huge third wheel, he was quite lively, so the trip wasn’t dull.
After several days of playing in Qingtan Town and the nearby attractions, the abnormality of the Spirit Suppressing Tower still went unnoticed. Just as Zhang Ruyan had said, as long as the Ice Soul Coffin remained, it might take years for anyone to realize that Jiang Chen’s body was missing.
On the third day, Zhang Zhicheng was released from detention. Given his level of offense, detention was unnecessary; it was likely his eighth uncle demanded it for his reflection.
On his way back, Lin Tian happened to encounter Zhang Zhicheng near Baihua Pool. Zhang Zhicheng still held a resentful gaze, but only due to the previous clash. As for last night’s events, he had completely forgotten them.
For several days, Lin Tian didn’t see Zhang Ruyan again. According to Zhang Lingyu, she had returned to her wooden cabin in the forest to continue her solitary life.
Was this tranquility or loneliness? Perhaps only she knew.
Considering Xu Feibai should’ve settled Jiang Chen’s body by now and returned to school, it was time to ask about the reward. Lin Tian brought up leaving with Zhang Lingyu.
Zhang Lingyu didn’t come to see him off; only Zhang Mingxing escorted him to the door. However, what Lin Tian didn’t know was that from a tower with the best view in the Zhang Family, her gaze followed Lin Tian as he left.
Naturally, there wasn’t a direct ride to Jinghua City from Qingtan Town. Zhang Lingyu arranged for a car to take him to the nearest airport. The driver was a young man, but Lin Tian didn’t know him. When they reached the bridgehead of Qingtan Town, Lin Tian called out to stop the car.
"Wait for me; I have something to do." Lin Tian instructed and got out of the car.
Walking quickly along the familiar river path and forest streams, a wooden house garden appeared before him. A beautiful figure in a white dress was busy in the garden, just like the scene Lin Tian saw the first time he intruded into the garden, as if nothing had changed.
"If you’re already leaving, why come again?" Zhang Ruyan continued to bend over, tending to the soil without turning back, yet already knowing who had arrived.
Lin Tian didn’t respond, walking beside her and seeing she was planting seeds, he couldn’t help but ask, "What seeds?"
"Flower Vine." Zhang Ruyan continued to plant seeds, speaking indifferently.
Lin Tian’s heart twitched, damn, not those Flower Vines.
As if to confirm his thought, Zhang Ruyan finally straightened up, turning to look at him with a hint of slyness, "These Flower Vine seeds have undergone the latest modifications. When you come next time, you won’t be so lucky. Be careful not to fall into my hands."
"Ahem, Demon Star is just a legend; why cling to it?" Lin Tian’s face darkened.
"Everyone needs an obsession, or what’s the difference from a salted fish?" Zhang Ruyan said a philosophically profound sentence, leaving Lin Tian speechless.
Lin Tian shook his head slightly, speaking softly, "I’m going back; do you have any message you want me to pass along to him?"
After a brief pause, Zhang Ruyan calmly said, "Tell him, reviving Jiang Chen will always have a cost. Be wary not to end up as Jiang Chen’s slave."
Lin Tian frowned slightly but nodded in agreement. He glanced around the garden, sighed inwardly, and was about to leave when Zhang Ruyan’s gaze met his again, speaking once more.
"Lin Tian, you’re just like him; be wary of becoming Nu Ba’s slave." Zhang Ruyan said this because, as a Demon Exorcist, she understood zombies very well. All zombies’ life and death were controlled by the four Zombie Ancestors.
Due to the power of the zombie bloodline, all zombies cannot escape this fate.
Lin Tian squinted his eyes slightly, coldly saying, "She won’t."
"You can leave now." Zhang Ruyan didn’t argue with Lin Tian, nor did she refute him, merely leaving behind a few indifferent words before bending down again to plant Flower Vine seeds.
Lin Tian didn’t linger further, turning away into the woods. Only when he disappeared did Zhang Ruyan rise, watching the direction he left, motionless for a long time, with her eyes having the illusion of shifting clouds.
Emerging from the woods, Lin Tian returned to the car, instructed the driver, and they continued on. Although it was the nearest airport, it took almost two hours to reach.
With the ticket already booked, Lin Tian smoothly obtained it and didn’t wait long before boarding. Passing through security, the machines remarkably didn’t sound an alarm.
It’s worth noting he carried two items: the Crescent Blade and the Heavenly Tribulation Sword bracelet. The lack of alarms indicated neither was ordinary metal, avoiding much trouble.
Luckily, the Heavenly Tribulation Sword could change shape; otherwise, carrying such a large sword might have earned him an invitation for tea or been regarded as foolish.
The journey back to Jinghua City spanned over fifteen hundred kilometers, and without a direct flight, there were several delays. By the time he reached Jinghua City, it was already evening.
To surprise Xiao Manxuan, Lin Tian didn’t notify her of his return, opting to take a cab back to school. Under the complete cover of night, he finally returned to Jinghua University.
Arriving at the apartment building, Lin Tian noticed his car was still there, but next to it was a Mercedes. In a city like Jinghua, where luxury cars and limited edition sports cars were everywhere, a Mercedes wasn’t eye-catching, so he paid it no mind.
Upstairs, instead of knocking, Lin Tian took out his key to quietly open the door, intending to surprise the little girl. The living room lights were on, and he heard the kitchen exhaust fan running; the little girl seemed to be cooking.
Cooking this late? Lin Tian thought to himself, planning to sneak over, when a noise suddenly came from the little girl’s boudoir. Lin Tian furrowed his eyebrows, was there someone else?
He took two quick steps over; the door was ajar and opened at a push, revealing another person inside. But when he saw the person’s face, he was dumbfounded.
"Miss..."
He found our CEO, Xiao Manxue, but what she was doing caused a surge of improper thoughts, almost making him nosebleed.
Miss was changing clothes, having already taken off a woman’s shirt and hung it on a hanger. She was wearing only a bra, with her hands seemingly working on its clasp behind her back.
This motion naturally lifted her chest, making the already magnificent mountains appear even larger. Miss also saw Lin Tian; for a moment, their eyes met, and time seemed to freeze.
In less than a second, Miss quickly reacted, turning around and grabbing a bedsheet to swiftly wrap around herself, covering all the spring scenery.
Meanwhile, with a sudden clang, a longsword flew straight towards Lin Tian’s legs!
