Chapter 1953: Chapter 1950: Catching a Hoodlum

Regarding Xu Feibai’s reliability, Lin Tian naturally didn’t doubt it. This guy might act cool, but he always keeps his promises. During their first collaboration, he delivered on his word by providing Jiang Chen Bloodline’s blood.

Early the next morning, Lin Tian was still catching up on sleep in his big bed when a knock on the door woke him. He went to open it and found it was Zhang Mingxing, who looked much better as young people tend to recover swiftly.

However, his expression was a bit odd, and he pointed to the right corridor with his finger. Lin Tian was puzzled and stepped outside to see Zhang Lingyu standing not far away.

The beautiful Heavenly Master was wearing a light purple casual dress today, her hairstyle was noticeably styled, and her face had subtle makeup. Lin Tian, accustomed to seeing her in battle attire, was stunned by her newfound worldly elegance.

"You look really beautiful today," Lin Tian sincerely expressed his thoughts.

"Are you saying I wasn’t beautiful before? Hmph!" Zhang Lingyu glared and huffed.

"Uh, no, they’re just different styles, but both are beautiful," Lin Tian truthfully replied and then teased, "Lord Heavenly Master, what are you dressed like this for today?"

If any other man had complimented her, Zhang Lingyu wouldn’t have cared, but hearing it from Lin Tian made a smile tug at her lips, clearly pleased.

"Sister Lingyu said she’s going to be your tour guide," Zhang Mingxing innocently chimed in.

Lin Tian was taken aback, looking puzzled: "Tour guide? Didn’t you say yesterday you didn’t want to..."

"Are you coming or not? If not, forget it." Zhang Lingyu’s smile faded, pretending to be angry, she glared at Lin Tian and turned as if to leave.

Lin Tian chuckled, "I’m coming, of course, I’m coming. Let me change my clothes."

He quickly returned to his room, and in just a few minutes, he emerged ready, having washed and dressed.

His speed left Zhang Lingyu dumbfounded. In her experience, a woman wouldn’t step out without spending an hour on makeup and picking clothes. Lin Tian’s speed seemed like the speed of light to her.

"Let’s go, oh by the way, is Mingxing joining us?" Lin Tian asked the young boy.

Zhang Lingyu laughed, "Of course, to keep this rogue from misbehaving."

"Sister Lingyu, Brother Lin isn’t a rogue," Zhang Mingxing earnestly defended Lin Tian.

Zhang Lingyu was a bit exasperated: "Just a few days and he’s won you over. I’m your cousin, yet you keep siding with him, you little rascal."

Young Mingxing couldn’t argue back but scratched his head and muttered, "Brother Lin’s not a rogue."

Zhang Lingyu’s sharp ears caught it, which drove her crazy again, thinking why Lin Tian seemed to charm everyone regardless of age.

Seeing Mingxing about to get a lecture from his cousin, Lin Tian quickly intervened to change the subject, "Lingyu, Mingxing’s taken leave, doesn’t need to go to school, and you don’t have school, do you?"

"Sister Lingyu is very impressive, she’s already completed her university studies and excelled," Mingxing eagerly answered, looking awed.

Completed university courses? Lin Tian was genuinely surprised. No wonder Mingxing admired her, even Lin Tian praised her, explaining why she was so successful at Xikou City High School; she’d completed her university education—a top student indeed.

The three chatted happily as they left the Zhang Family, and while walking through, Lin Tian paid extra attention to other clan members, noticing they acted typically as if they weren’t aware Jiang Chen was missing.

The Great Elder was still out investigating the World-purifying Dragon Ball and had no time to return. Even if he knew Jiang Chen’s Body was missing, he wouldn’t come back since the Dragon Ball mattered more to him.

Qingtan Town remained as bustling as ever, but not in a way that was overwhelming. As they strolled along the street, Zhang Lingyu suddenly stopped, looking ahead at a "storefront."

More precisely, it wasn’t a storefront, but an entrance plaque on the side read: Qingtan Town Police Station.

"I just saw one of our clansmen walk into the police station," Zhang Lingyu frowned.

"Is something going on, should we check it out?" Mingxing curiously suggested.

Before getting an answer, Zhang Lingyu already went inside, prompting Lin Tian, suspecting something, to follow along with Mingxing. Inside was a service hall with two young female attendants at the window.

It was still early, and the hall was empty. One female attendant immediately recognized Zhang Lingyu, stood up, and greeted her, "Lingyu, what brings you here?"

"Sister He, I saw someone from home come in early. What’s happened?" Zhang Lingyu inquired.

"Aren’t you here for Zhang Zhicheng?" the attendant asked curiously.

"Zhang Zhicheng?" Zhang Lingyu paused, seemingly realizing something.

The attendant confirmed, "Yes, Zhang Zhicheng. He was found at the bridge early this morning without clothes. Two passing girls accused him of misconduct, and the police took him in."

Misconduct? Taken in? Lin Tian and Zhang Lingyu exchanged glances, immediately understanding the situation; this guy’s really got rotten luck.

Lin Tian pondered what Zhicheng could have done, when Zhang Zhicheng’s voice came from the office, "Uncle Eight, I’ve said it a hundred times, there was no misconduct, none!"

"Shut up, haven’t you embarrassed us enough? What’s the yelling for? Claim no misconduct, but what were you naked for? The girls were startled, what were you thinking this early in the morning?" A middle-aged man’s voice sounded, very angrily.

"I... I don’t even know, maybe I got drunk last night and forgot what happened later. I just wanted to borrow a phone from those girls, no misconduct," Zhang Zhicheng desperately defended himself.

Hearing his memory lapse, Zhang Lingyu sighed with relief, indicating the Forget Love Water had worked, and Lin Tian witnessed its power; before, he only heard tales.

But borrowing a phone naked? Zhang Zhicheng was indeed unique.

Uncle Eight grew even angrier, "Improperly dressed, borrowing phones from girls, are you insane? Our family’s reputation is strict, and you’ll ruin it. Prepare to face the wall when you get back!"

Urgent footsteps sounded inside, suggesting someone was coming out. Zhang Lingyu said to the attendant, "Sister He, Uncle Eight’s upset, let’s not provoke him, we’re leaving."

The attendant nodded knowingly, and Zhang Lingyu quickly pulled Lin Tian towards the exit, Mingxing in tow. As they’d just crossed the street, a middle-aged man stormed out alone, angry but without Zhicheng.

"Uncle Eight’s temper explodes easily; seems he’s leaving Zhang Zhicheng here to reflect for a few days. When he gets back, he’ll still have to face the wall," Zhang Lingyu calmly stated, without a hint of sympathy.
