Chapter 1952: Chapter 1949: Ying Gou’s Whereabouts
"You are Xu Feibai. Last time the Shrine let you go, and now you dare to appear in Qingtan Town." Zhang Lingyu tightly gripped the Demon-suppressing Whip, which flickered with electricity, threatening to make even his hair stand on end.
Upon meeting, Zhang Lingyu immediately showed hostility, not just because of the Shrine issue, but for Zhang Ruyan. In her eyes, if it weren’t for Xu Feibai, Zhang Ruyan wouldn’t have changed so drastically, wouldn’t have lost the Heavenly Master’s Successor position, and wouldn’t have had her heart hurt.
Xu Feibai’s gaze hardened, his hand lightly raised as if ready to strike at any moment. Being on Zhang Family territory, he couldn’t afford to be careless.
Zhang Ruyan, being one of the involved parties, was the calmest. She patted Zhang Lingyu’s shoulder and said calmly, "Girl, don’t be nervous. This isn’t the place to fight."
"Lingyu, this guy hasn’t sucked human blood even once since he returned to the country, let him go for now," Lin Tian also persuaded from the side. Truth be told, if it came to fighting, Zhang Lingyu might not necessarily win against Xu Feibai, especially since the White Tiger Seal was just used and couldn’t be activated again for a while.
However, since this was Zhang Family territory, if it came to life-and-death combat, Xu Feibai would certainly suffer.
"He hasn’t sucked blood? Who would believe that?" Zhang Lingyu pouted skeptically. Her ingrained belief was that zombies couldn’t survive without sucking blood. Of course, she knew of one exception—Lin Tian was that exception.
Initially, she didn’t understand why Lin Tian could survive without sucking blood, but later she learned it was because of cultivation technique issues. However, she believed such techniques were incredibly rare, unlikely for every zombie to cultivate, so she didn’t believe that Xu Feibai didn’t need to suck blood.
"He drank Jiang Chen’s Blood," Lin Tian said directly.
"Jiang Chen’s Blood?"
Before Zhang Lingyu could speak, Zhang Ruyan quietly muttered, then deeply furrowed her brows, "Jiang Chen’s Blood? Did you find the Blood Pool?"
Since stepping out of the car, Xu Feibai had been aloof, not showing a smile. Hearing Zhang Ruyan’s words, his expression changed for the first time.
"How do you know about the existence of the Blood Pool?" Xu Feibai frowned, speaking rarely.
"Apparently, my master’s prophecy was correct. Before Jiang Chen was sealed, he left a Blood Pool containing his own blood in a certain place. In case of death, he could resurrect through the Blood Pool," Zhang Ruyan said, recalling and speaking, becoming shocked herself by the end.
Lin Tian and Zhang Lingyu both looked at Xu Feibai, and he nodded, "She’s right, the Blood Pool can indeed resurrect Jiang Chen, but it’s not that simple. Besides the Blood Pool, we need other things to fully assemble Jiang Chen’s Body, which is the first step."
"Then take your things and leave immediately; staying in Qingtan Town will do you no good," Zhang Ruyan reverted to her usual demeanor and said coldly.
Once close as a couple, treating each other indifferently now, Lin Tian didn’t know how to interject. Instead, he opened the bag, pulled out Zhang Zhicheng, and handed the bag over to Xu Feibai.
Seeing an extra person in the bag, Xu Feibai was surprised but didn’t say anything, taking the bag and turning to leave decisively. As the sound of the SUV starting up echoed, the car moved, kicking up dust, swiftly disappearing into the night.
Noticing both Lin Tian and Zhang Ruyan looking at her, Zhang Lingyu couldn’t help but ask curiously, "Why are you two staring at me?"
"Sister Ruyan, are you really okay?" Zhang Lingyu asked cautiously, fearing she might touch upon her sad past.
"Ha, you mean Xu Feibai? I have nothing much going on, just passing along as strangers," Zhang Ruyan laughed lightly, but only she knew what she truly felt.
"Enough about me, tell us about you, Lin Tian. Why did you bring Zhang Zhicheng all this way? What’s your purpose?" Zhang Ruyan looked at the ground at Zhang Zhicheng, and asked back.
"Initially, I wanted to transform him, let him experience what it’s like to be a slave, but then I thought I didn’t like having a man around, so I changed my punishment approach," Lin Tian said casually.
The two girls blinked in realization, Zhang Lingyu more helplessly said, "Oh, that’s how it is, you’re definitely someone who doesn’t suffer losses. How will you punish him?"
"That’s none of your concern." Lin Tian chuckled mysteriously, picked up Zhang Zhicheng, and headed towards the nearby bridge.
This bridge is the transportation hub connecting Qingtan Town with the outside world, bustling with people and cars daily. However, at this quiet deep night, it was silent, with no people or cars around.
The two girls didn’t follow but watched from afar. As they were wondering what Lin Tian was going to do, they suddenly saw him act, tearing Zhang Zhicheng’s clothes and pants off with a wave of his hand.
"Scoundrel!" Zhang Lingyu cursed harshly, but both girls turned away, not looking.
Lin Tian tore off Zhang Zhicheng’s clothes and pants, at least leaving him underwear, then placed him in a ’big’ position at the edge of the bridge.
Having done this, Lin Tian returned satisfied, and Zhang Lingyu gave him a glare, "You’re truly wicked."
Zhang Ruyan smiled faintly and said, "Zhang Zhicheng threatened to kill you; with your personality, even if you don’t kill him, you’d cripple him, right? But you didn’t, to protect us? To avoid saddling us with accusations of inaction, of fratricide?"
Lin Tian was momentarily stunned, surprised that Zhang Ruyan was so astutely perceptive.
Indeed, he didn’t care about Zhang Zhicheng’s life, but if he killed Zhang Zhicheng in front of Zhang Lingyu and Zhang Ruyan, the two would bear a lifetime of infamy, watching their clan member get killed without doing anything, synonymous with fratricide, even if Zhang Zhicheng was terrible.
In assisting with the recovery of Jiang Chen’s Body, the two girls were taking great risks to help. If they also had to bear infamy, Lin Tian wouldn’t deserve to be a man.
Although Zhang Ruyan had guessed, Lin Tian didn’t say anything, merely smiled faintly, turning gracefully to leave.
"Where are you going?" Zhang Lingyu asked excitedly.
"To your house, of course. I’ve got a ten-days holiday; since I’m here in Qingtan Town, I obviously want to stay a few more days, but you’ll be my guide," Lin Tian said smilingly.
Going to your house, one phrase caused Zhang Lingyu’s cheeks to redden slightly, interpreting Lin Tian’s words as "I’m staying to accompany you."
However, Zhang Lingyu still arrogantly snorted, "Who wants to be your guide, dream on!" With that, she held her head high and walked away.
Zhang Ruyan looked at Lin Tian and chuckled, shaking her head, before following. All three then departed, leaving Zhang Zhicheng lying at the bridgehead. By dawn, passersby would discover his posture, and his name would surely circulate in Qingtan Town for a long time.
Initially thinking they would leave tonight, Lin Tian hadn’t expected things to go smoothly, retrieving Jiang Chen’s Body without much incident, prompting him to stay a while longer to avoid suspicion later on.
Back in the chamber, Lin Tian was about to sleep after bathing when his phone chimed with a message. Opening it, he found it was from Xu Feibai. Surprising, as this guy was remembered as someone who didn’t use phones. The message was short: "Regarding Ying Gou’s information, once you’re back at school, I’ll tell you."
