Chapter 425: Chapter 425: Relentless Haunting

"Alright, take care of your own matters first, don’t worry about me." Wesley Yates looked at his daughter lovingly, his eyes full of concern.

"Ms. Sinclair." The guard walked in and saluted, "The car is waiting downstairs, ready to depart at any time."

"Alright, thank you for your hard work."

Tanya Sinclair picked up her packed luggage bag and was about to leave.

"Tanya, wait a moment." Wesley called her back, trembling as he got up and walked over, helping to adjust her collar and wrapping a scarf around her neck twice, tying it carefully, "It’s cold outside, don’t let the wind get to your neck."

Tanya looked at her father’s clumsy yet earnest actions, feeling a pang in her nose and almost shedding tears.

"Dad, you also need to take good care of your health. Once the doctor says you can be discharged, I’ll take you home, and our family will never be separated again."

"Alright." Wesley replied with a smile, patting his daughter’s hand.

His gaze passed through Tanya, seeing the image of his beloved from the past.

Tanya had just walked out of the hospital when she saw a familiar white Bentley parked at the entrance.

Vincent Hawthorne was leaning against the car door, wearing a dark gray coat with a deep blue scarf peeking out. He looked well-groomed and poised. On the ground in front of him lay a few cigarette butts, indicating he had been waiting for a while.

Tanya knew he was there for her, slightly furrowing her brows, not inclined to respond.

"Shall we get in the car?"

"Tanya!" Vincent hurriedly walked over. His gaze fell on her, openly filled with concern, "I sent some health supplements, fresh fruits, and imported wagyu beef to the Sinclair Family. Aunt Tawny should have received them by now."

Tanya frowned, "I don’t need you to do this for me, and it’s not like I can’t afford it myself. Take them away, or I’ll throw them out."

Vincent wasn’t surprised by her reaction, he feigned difficulty, "I have no say in this matter."

Tanya was truly a bit annoyed, "You..."

Vincent leisurely said, "Because everything was chosen for you by Joy with her New Year’s money."

After he said this, he turned and opened the back seat door.

Joy had fallen asleep in the car while waiting, and she groggily woke up, immediately lighting up upon seeing Tanya.

"Mommy!" she joyfully leapt out of the car, rushing into Tanya’s arms.

Today, she was wearing a pink down jacket with two little buns on her head, so adorable, like a doll from a New Year painting.

Tanya’s heart softened instantly.

Vincent sighed in mock distress, "Joy, Mommy said she wants to throw away everything you sent—"

He didn’t finish before Tanya glared at him.

Vincent enjoyed this, wisely closing his mouth, but couldn’t hide the smile at the corners of his lips.

It had been so long, so long since she’d shown him such vivid emotions.

"Mommy, you don’t like what Joy sent?" Joy raised her little face, her big eyes staring directly at Tanya.

Tanya squatted down, hugging her daughter, smelling the faint milky scent on her, unable to say anything harsh.

"Mommy likes it very much."

"That’s great~" Joy wrapped her arms around Tanya’s neck, giving her a kiss on the cheek, "Mommy, you’ve gotten thinner, haven’t you been eating well? Naughty naughty."

Tanya, amused by her daughter’s serious tone, tugged at the corners of her mouth, forcing a slight smile.

"Mommy will eat well from now on."

"Then pinky promise!" Joy extended her little finger, Tanya smiled and hooked her finger with hers.

Joy twisted to look at Vincent, "Daddy, you said you would take Mommy for some delicious food, let’s go now! I’m hungry!"

Vincent smoothly tossed the question to Tanya.

"Well, you have to ask if Mommy is willing to go."

Tanya: "..."

Joy clung to her arm, pleading, her big eyes looking at her pitifully, "Mommy, please come with us for a meal, just one. We haven’t eaten together for so long."

Tanya looked at her daughter’s expectant eyes, and the rejection she had on the tip of her tongue was swallowed back.

"...Okay."

Vincent’s mouth slightly curved up, and he immediately opened the front passenger door like a gentleman.

However, Tanya didn’t sit there; she took Joy to the back seat, lifting her daughter in first before sitting inside herself.

Vincent knew he couldn’t rush things; the fact that she was willing to get in the car was something to be thankful for.

He closed the car door, walked around to the driver’s seat, and sat down.

Acting as the chauffeur for the mother and daughter, Vincent drove steadily, glancing at Tanya in the rearview mirror. She kept her head down, listening to Joy chatter about amusing things at school, occasionally responding, with a faint smile on her face.

Such a serene scene filled him with happiness just by looking at it.

He wanted to hold onto this happiness, to keep it forever!

The car swerved past the intersection, and a black G-Wagon from the other side smoothly followed behind them.

Vincent saw that car from the rearview mirror, his brows furrowing slightly.

He recognized the license plate—it was Felix Kendall’s.

Persistent as ever!
