Chapter 416: Chapter 416: Begging You to Forgive Yvonne This Once

Vincent Hawthorne’s face changed slightly.

Tanya Sinclair couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh. She had guessed correctly.

Knowing Vincent Hawthorne for so many years, his thoughts were almost transparent to her.

The irony was, Vincent was a family-oriented man, but the family he cared about was not the small family they had together, but The Hawthorne Family!

"Joy, Daddy and Mommy need to talk. Can you be a good girl and listen to music while doing your homework?" Vincent gently negotiated with Joy, pulling her over.

Tanya watched coldly. He was still holding Joy’s backpack, clearly prepared this time.

Joy, a bit puzzled, looked at her parents before finally gazing at Tanya.

"Mommy, I’ll go do my homework, then..."

Tanya forced a smile to her daughter, "Go on." She patted Joy’s head. "If anything’s too difficult, come and ask Mommy."

"Okay~" Joy hugged her small backpack, went to the side table, put on her headphones, and earnestly started her homework while listening to music.

Tanya walked over and took off Joy’s headphones.

"Sweetheart, play the music out loud. Wearing headphones can hurt your ears."

At her age, letting her wear headphones—how could Vincent think that was okay!

Tanya turned her head and had no good expression for Vincent. She headed straight for the balcony, and Vincent followed her.

The balcony door was half-open. Joy was sitting at the table in the other corner of the suite, diligently doing her homework. With the music playing, she couldn’t hear anything happening.

Vincent looked at Tanya in front of him, pressed his lips slightly, and there was a hint of tenderness in his eyes.

"You’ve lost so much weight."

Tanya was unimpressed by his sympathy, remaining as cold as ever.

"Whether I’m fat or thin, it has nothing to do with you."

Vincent sighed softly and went back to get a thin blanket, handing it to Tanya.

"You definitely won’t want my clothes." He gave a self-deprecating smile, a bit bitter, "Cover up so you don’t catch a cold. Joy would be sad too."

"..." Tanya looked at the blanket held out to her, hesitated for a few seconds, and took it, "Thank you."

Seeing her wrap the blanket around her, Vincent’s expression relaxed slightly.

"Tanya, I’ve heard about Declan Pierce..."

Hearing Declan’s name, Tanya paused slightly, lowered her eyes, and didn’t speak, but her fingers tightened on the corner of the blanket.

Vincent sighed lightly, "The dead can’t come back to life. Please don’t be too sad."

Declan’s death was something Vincent never expected.

He originally thought Declan was just no longer in love with Tanya, was tired of her, and planned to leave her, but now he’s gone.

What surprised Vincent even more was that Declan’s will mentioned Caden and Joy. As the biological father and guardian of the children, he was notified by a lawyer that Declan had set up a massive education fund for the two children.

Vincent was shocked by the amount.

Tanya looked at him impassively, "Vincent Hawthorne, I’m giving you only three minutes."

Vincent was stunned.

"If you’re going to continue talking nonsense, you can leave now." Tanya’s tone was chilling.

Vincent understood her, even though they were divorced, after more than a decade of feelings, he knew the more expressionless Tanya was, the more it hurt inside.

Declan now was a bleeding scar on her heart.

Vincent took a deep breath, controlled his expression, but in the darkest corner of his mind, something excitedly rekindled.

Declan’s death meant he had another chance, didn’t it?

He and Tanya had two children and more than ten years of feelings. This was his biggest bargaining chip!

But Vincent hadn’t forgotten why he came today.

"Tanya, I know Yvonne was reckless and did something unforgivable to you. We’ve spoiled her! I’ll bring her to you tomorrow, have her kneel and apologize! You can punish her however you’d like! I guarantee The Hawthornes will not object!" Vincent shifted his tone and pleaded, "But can I ask you to cover for her in front of the military?"

Seeing Tanya staring at him coldly without speaking, Vincent panicked a little.

"Tanya, if Yvonne gets sued by the military, her life will be over!"

Since learning Tanya was alive, Yvonne was panic-stricken at home. Vincent quickly got the truth out of her, which wasn’t far from what he thought.

Vincent was naturally angry, but then Tanya was still alive.

If the military really pressed charges, they would have no room to maneuver.

Yvonne would certainly be severely sentenced, at least starting with fifteen years, and her life would be ruined!

"Tanya, I only have one sister. She’s also Caden and Joy’s aunt! I’m begging you, give her a chance."

Tanya sneered, "Did she ever think I am Joy and Caden’s mother when she caused me to fall from the helicopter?"

Vincent was at a loss for words.

"Moral blackmail doesn’t work on me, Vincent. You can stop pretending. I’m going to tell the military the truth! As for how they deal with Yvonne, it’s what she deserves!"

Tanya finished saying this all in one breath, feeling a bit tired. She was too lazy to entangle with Vincent anymore and didn’t want to look at him, starting to walk inside.

Vincent pressed his lips tightly, taking a few big steps, reaching out to grab Tanya.

"Tanya—"

Tanya felt extreme disgust, wishing she could slap Vincent’s hypocritical, selfish face, but recalling the daughter still present, she didn’t want to make an ugly scene with Vincent.

"Let go!" she lowered her voice, it was filled with anger.

"Tanya—" Vincent still wanted to speak, but another distinct hand suddenly reached over, pressing down on his arm.

"She told you to let go. Didn’t you hear?" Felix Kendall’s voice was icy, his ruggedly handsome face exuding a quiet intimidation.

He had actually arrived a minute earlier, just watching at the door until Vincent got physical. Unable to tolerate, Felix finally intervened.

Truthfully, he had been displeased with Vincent for quite some time.

Felix was trained in the special forces, and although Vincent too had some training, he was no match for Felix. After a few seconds of a stalemate, his face turned livid as he let go.

Felix sneered, his tone full of sarcasm, "What a talent, Mr. Hawthorne, to lay a hand on a woman."

Vincent furrowed his brows, about to speak, but Felix wasn’t listening.

"Ms. Sinclair." He turned to Tanya with a businesslike tone, "If you’re physically up to it, I’ll need to take you to see Crawford and do a detailed record about—"

He glanced at Vincent, then meaningfully continued, "how you fell from the helicopter."
