Chapter 411: Chapter 411: He Wants to Walk Alone
Mia, the little assistant in the car, noticed the situation by the roadside.
"Oh my, isn’t this a blatant case of staging an accident for money! Bullying honest people!"
Ms. Daisy was busy playing a mobile game, and her hard-earned long snake had crashed into its own tail. Filled with resentment, she turned to look outside.
The first glance revealed that the "honest person" being targeted was none other than Jasper Monroe!
Mainly because his appearance was too striking, like a filter in the crowd.
Ms. Daisy looked at Jasper Monroe’s silent demeanor, instantly imagining a drama where a prince from a greenhouse of comfort leaves the palace for the first time, encountering local ruffians!
Jasper Monroe must be feeling helpless right now!
He’s never seen such a scene!
During their last meal, Ms. Daisy had a good impression of Jasper Monroe—an aristocratic gentleman who didn’t talk much but was gentle and noble.
Ms. Daisy always had a strong sense of justice, and at this moment in her eyes, Jasper Monroe was like a little white rabbit desperately needing rescue!
"I’m coming!"
She donned a mask and decisively opened the car door to get out.
Mia was scared to death, unable to hold her back, "Ms. Daisy, where are you going!"
Fully armed, Ms. Daisy didn’t turn back, "Beauty saves the hero!"
At this moment, Jasper Monroe, surrounded by the crowd, although his face showed little emotion, his beautiful phoenix eyes behind the glasses were cooling down inch by inch.
He was in a foul mood today.
Thinking about hearing the sound of bones snapping...
Just as Jasper Monroe was about to take action, a slender figure dashed over. She wore a hat and mask, making it impossible to see her face, but Jasper Monroe was sensitive to scents, and he caught a familiar fragrance.
It was Ms. Daisy.
"Old man, are you staging an accident?" Ms. Daisy deliberately spoke in a rough voice, glaring fiercely at the faker on the ground.
The old man wasn’t intimidated by a young girl, "Little girl, don’t pin that on me just because the lad looks handsome! It was clearly him who hit me! Injuring me!"
"Bullshit." Ms. Daisy cursed vehemently, "How could I not know? This is my husband! I know exactly what kind of person he is!"
Jasper Monroe: "..."
Ms. Daisy turned and hooked her arm around Jasper Monroe’s, speaking intimately, "Honey, I know you’re currently on undercover patrol, serving the people, but when you encounter such disrespectful old trash, you should reveal your identity as a cop and arrest him directly!"
As an award-winning actress, Ms. Daisy said it as if it were true.
That old man was a bit shaken.
If he really was a cop, he’d be in for big trouble...
He looked at Jasper Monroe suspiciously.
Mainly because this man didn’t quite fit the cop profile. With this face as an undercover agent, he’d probably become famous after a few strolls down the street... likely just an intimidation tactic.
Fuming, the old man said, "You hit me, and now you’re pretending to be a cop! Oh dear, my old life is bitter, bullied by this young couple, breaking my leg and scaring me..."
Jasper Monroe didn’t even listen to the nonsense the old man was spewing. His attention was on Ms. Daisy, watching discreetly as she slid something into his pocket.
"Open your eyes and see clearly! This is my husband’s badge!" Ms. Daisy spoke indignantly and then reached into Jasper Monroe’s pocket, retrieving the badge she had just planted.
Jasper Monroe: "..."
The old man, already feeling guilty, took one quick glance at the badge and didn’t dare verify its authenticity. He hurriedly got up from the ground, "I... I think my leg doesn’t hurt so much. I just remembered I have to pick up my grandson..."
The old man scrambled to his feet and squeezed through the crowd to escape. Ms. Daisy took the opportunity to pull Jasper Monroe away, leading him to a solitary corner before removing her mask.
"Mr. Monroe, don’t worry, it’s me!" Her eyes sparkled, as if the galaxy was fused within.
Jasper Monroe found a sudden sense of reality in her eyes, as if returning to the human realm.
He slightly squinted his eyes and played along with her, "So it’s Ms. Bell, thank you for getting me out of that fix."
Ms. Daisy waved generously, "No big deal. Why are you walking alone on the street? Where are your bodyguards?"
Jasper Monroe glanced at the corner behind Ms. Daisy.
He’s never truly lacking bodyguards, they were just either visible or lurking.
If Ms. Daisy hadn’t appeared, there would naturally be someone to take the old faker away.
But looking at Ms. Daisy’s radiant, almost dazzling face, Jasper Monroe suddenly didn’t want to tell the truth.
"I didn’t let anyone follow, just wanted to wander alone."
It wasn’t lying, as indeed he hadn’t let anyone follow, but these guards in shadows were arranged by the family, inescapable for him.
Ms. Daisy stared at Jasper Monroe for a few seconds.
"Mr. Monroe, did something unpleasant happen to you?"
"Why do you ask?" Jasper Monroe countered.
"Because..." She slightly tiptoed, getting closer, and in that instant Jasper Monroe had an uncanny feeling of being seen through.
Then he heard Ms. Daisy’s voice, softly saying: "You look so sad, as if you’ve lost something very important..."
