Chapter 391: Chapter 391: Mr. Dongguo and the Wolf
"Don’t kill me! I’m still young, I don’t want to die..." Yvonne Hawthorne’s face was pale, pleading in terror, "I can give you whatever money you want, please don’t kill me!"
Tom glared dangerously at Tanya Sinclair with a smirk that didn’t reach his eyes: "Begging me is useless if Ms. Sinclair doesn’t behave. I’ll have no choice but to cut off your head. Ms. Sinclair, you’re relatives, aren’t you? Do you really want to watch her die at my hands?"
Tanya clenched the gun in her hand, pressing her lips tightly without speaking.
If she showed weakness now, that would truly be the end.
Tom further threatened, "Ms. Sinclair, if you run away. I’ll throw this woman to my men, let them have their fun before killing her!"
Already terrified, Yvonne Hawthorne was even more frightened to the point of collapse upon hearing this.
"No! I don’t want that! Sister-in-law, Tanya Sinclair... help me! Don’t leave me here alone!"
Just then, from the forest not far away, someone fired a cold shot towards Tom.
The subordinate closest to Tom shouted, "Boss, watch out!"
As he spoke, the man lunged forward, taking a bullet for Tom!
Then, several choking smoke grenades were thrown over, and chaos ensued.
"Protect the boss!!"
It must be an insider creating a chance for her to escape!
Tanya made a quick decision, swiftly releasing the helm to drop the lifeboat into the sea, simultaneously using the butt of the gun to knock Flora unconscious.
"Yvonne Hawthorne!" she shouted to get Yvonne’s attention, then turned and decisively jumped onto the lifeboat.
Yvonne watched Tanya jump onto the lifeboat, braced herself against the fear, and bit Tom’s hand holding the knife. Taking advantage of his pain, she immediately jumped into the sea, frantically swimming toward Tanya.
Tanya grabbed her hand, pulling her up, and started the lifeboat to rush forward.
"Catch them!" Tom urgently shouted.
His men jumped into small boats to give chase.
Yvonne Hawthorne, completely soaked, cold and anxious, took off her shoes and threw them backward, trying to stop them from getting close.
"Tanya, speed up! They’re catching up! If they catch us, I’m done for!"
"Shut up!" Tanya snapped, annoyed by her noise, "Can you shoot?"
Yvonne shook her head, incredulous, "How could I know how to do that?"
Tanya pulled Yvonne over, putting her in charge of steering.
"Just hold steady."
She turned and started shooting at the pursuing speedboat, trying to hold them back. She emptied the clip, finally capsizing one boat, but another five or six were getting closer. Tanya’s heart tightened.
Just then, a speedboat charged in from the right, directly toppling the nearest boat to Tanya’s.
The man onboard turned and shouted, "Tanya, go forward! I’ve got the rear!"
The man was dressed as a local villager, but that face, she knew all too well.
—It was Felix Kendall!
He was alive, after all!
Amidst the relief, Tanya calmed down and shouted, "Felix, support is on the way. We’ll go together!"
Hearing Felix’s name, Yvonne suddenly turned back, overjoyed, "Felix!"
But Felix didn’t spare her a glance; he looked at Tanya’s anxious face, his expression softening, but just for a moment.
"I haven’t found who I’m looking for yet! You all go quickly! I can get away."
Hearing this, Tanya didn’t hesitate further; the military’s helicopter support was already flying over. She tossed the reloaded handgun to Felix.
"Take care!"
Felix nodded slightly, turning the boat to intercept the pursuing speedboats.
Yvonne watched Felix’s retreating figure, then looked at Tanya in front of her, filled with bitter jealousy as she clenched her hands tightly!
She was the one who risked everything to come to this godforsaken place for Felix! She suffered tremendously searching for him, only to get caught by these thugs!
Felix had seen all this, yet he didn’t act... until now, when Tanya was in danger, he immediately showed up!
Yvonne’s heart burned with jealousy as she glared at Tanya.
What did this woman have that she didn’t!
The military helicopter lowered slowly, its rescue team throwing down a ladder.
Tanya looked at Yvonne, urging, "Quick, get up!"
Yvonne looked deeply at Tanya, then turned to climb the ladder, Tanya following right behind.
If Tanya made it back alive, once Felix returned, his eyes would only be for Tanya again!
This wasn’t fair!
She had given so much for Felix, yet the moment Tanya appeared, she would be reduced to nothing but a backdrop! Why should that be the case?
But what if Tanya died here?
A dead person... even if Felix loved her, he would eventually let go.
Thinking of this, Yvonne’s gaze grew colder, silently making a decision!
She watched from the corner of her eye as Tanya’s hand reached up, deliberately pretending to misstep, viciously stepping on Tanya’s hand.
"Ah!" Tanya cried out in pain, unexpectedly releasing a hand.
Yvonne turned her head, apologizing with feigned guilt, "Sorry, sorry! Hold on tight!"
But her eyes were cold, filled with piercing murderous intent.
Tanya immediately realized—Yvonne wanted her dead!
"Sister-in-law, grab my hand!" Yvonne turned back, urgently shouting to the people on the helicopter, "Quick! Pull up the ladder, my sister-in-law can’t hold on much longer!"
As she yelled, she pretended to desperately reach for Tanya, but what she actually did was use the sharp edge of her ring, mercilessly stabbing at Tanya’s hand.
