Chapter 390: Chapter 390: Meeting Yvonne Hawthorne

Tanya Sinclair was on the deck eating a tasteless plate of sea fish. Not far away, Pyralis Island came into view.

It was a completely isolated island in the middle of the ocean, with only two options to leave: by ship or plane.

Tanya knew better than anyone that once on the island, escaping would be even harder.

The island’s terrain was complex, not to mention several forces intermingling. Her unfamiliar face as a woman on the island... even if she escaped from Tom, she might not survive until help arrived.

So the best chance to escape was when getting off the ship!

A ship like this would surely have a lifeboat... Tanya took a stroll around the ship on the pretense of stretching her legs, soon discovering the lifeboat location on the deck. All she had to do was lower the rope to escape.

But escaping from here was not going to be easy.

Fortunately, the signal improved as they got closer to the shore.

Tanya hid in the bathroom and finally contacted the military personnel.

Crawford’s team had locked onto her location, and the rescue was already on its way.

Crawford: "Ms. Sinclair, our informer is on Pyralis Island; he will assist you in escaping later on the shore. Once on the lifeboat, escape along the path you came from. Ensure your maximum safety; leave everything else to us."

"Okay."

Tanya didn’t have the informer’s details, but knowing she wasn’t entirely alone gave her confidence.

"Ms. Sinclair, are you feeling unwell?" Flora called from outside, "We’re about to dock."

"I’m coming." Tanya replied and walked out.

Pyralis Island was right in front, with a group of Tom’s men waiting on the shore, each face painted and unfamiliar.

Among these people was the informer ready to meet her.

Tom, looking pleased, said, "Ms. Sinclair, this is Pyralis Island. As long as you behave and follow me, nothing will happen. Please."

But Tanya stood still.

Tom frowned slightly, "Ms. Sinclair..."

Before he could finish, Tanya suddenly pulled out a gun, taking Flora hostage.

"Sorry." She whispered.

Aside from Flora, there was really no one else she could take as a hostage.

Flora was so scared her legs went weak.

"Ms... Ms. Sinclair, please don’t kill me!"

Tom’s gaze was cold, and his men uniformly raised their weapons, aiming at Tanya.

"Put them down!" Tom yelled at his men.

He didn’t care about Flora’s life, fearing that if a gun accidentally discharged and harmed Tanya, he’d be finished!

Tom squinted, staring shrewdly at Tanya, "Ms. Sinclair, what do you mean by this? You’ve been well treated these two days on the ship, and Flora hasn’t offended you, right? If you’re dissatisfied, you can tell me. Such a refined young lady like Ms. Sinclair shouldn’t be playing with such dangerous things as guns; what if you get hurt by accident?"

Tanya almost laughed out loud.

She said coldly, "Tom, I’m not here as a guest. I was taken hostage, exchanged for more than three hundred lives!"

As Tanya spoke, she held Flora hostage and stepped back to a spot she had previously chosen.

As long as she pulled the lever beside her, the lifeboat would lower!

Seeing Tom approach, Tanya fired a shot skyward and warned fiercely: "Don’t come closer!"

Flora was on the verge of tears.

Tom stared at Tanya and suddenly smiled slyly, "Ms. Sinclair, do you think you’re the only one with a hostage?"

He clapped his hands twice, and a woman was dragged over, her head covered with a black cloth. Tom tore it off to reveal a face Tanya knew all too well.

"Yvonne Hawthorne?"

Yvonne was far from the graceful young lady she usually appeared, her hair disheveled and looking utterly miserable.

Seeing Tanya, she nearly broke into tears.

"Tanya Sinclair... Sister, please save me! I don’t want to die; I don’t want to stay here..."

Tanya frowned slightly.

She was not the empathetic type to care about Yvonne’s fate.

Yvonne had chased Felix Kendall here herself; she was entirely to blame for her current predicament.

"Don’t call me sister; I have nothing to do with your Hawthorne Family anymore!"

Yvonne wept and pleaded, "Sister, for the sake of being Caden and Joy’s aunt, save me! I really don’t want to stay here... Don’t leave me. I know I was wrong..."

Tom had already taken out a sharp dagger, pressing it against Yvonne’s neck.

Yvonne immediately screamed in terror.
