Chapter 389: Chapter 389: Planning the Escape
The time on the boat was exceptionally hard to endure, the signal had been lost for a long time.
Tanya Sinclair could not contact the troops.
Knowing she would certainly be dealt with, she didn’t even bring her phone.
In this unfamiliar sea, Tanya Sinclair couldn’t even distinguish the exact directions.
The only decent aspect was that Tom hadn’t arranged his men to keep an eye on her, and Flora brought meals to the door three times a day.
They were some sea fish and shrimp, hardly delicious, barely enough to fill her stomach.
But Tanya Sinclair always finished her food cleanly, the more dangerous the situation, the more she needed to calm down, forcing herself to eat well and sleep well, only then she’d have the energy to cope with the upcoming situation.
There was a window in the room, not small, but Tom was not worried about Tanya Sinclair escaping, right outside the window were surveillance cameras and armed men constantly patrolling.
Lying on the bed, Tanya Sinclair could hear their heavy footsteps.
She didn’t know if there were other hostages on the ship beside herself.
She didn’t even know what Tom’s purpose was in bringing her here.
Flora just slept next door.
The ship’s boards were thin, any little sound from her side could be heard by Flora. As soon as Tanya Sinclair moved, even a slight cough, Flora would come knocking shortly, looking very anxious.
"Ms. Sinclair, are you alright? If I don’t take good care of you, Tom will be very angry."
Tanya Sinclair: "..."
This isn’t the treatment a hostage should receive, it should be the treatment of a godmother.
Tanya Sinclair couldn’t help but ask, "Flora, what value do I have to Tom, exactly?"
Worth using over three hundred hostages to trade, and additionally entertaining her as a guest, Tanya Sinclair was utterly puzzled.
"I don’t know either," Flora said innocently, "I only know I’m here to take good care of you, Ms. Sinclair."
Tanya Sinclair frowned slightly.
What unique value did she have?
If it were about the research field, this time among Tom’s hostages were not only her senior Cameron Wenworth but also some top talents, what she could achieve, they could too.
"Can I see Tom?" Tanya Sinclair asked.
Flora looked troubled, "No, Ms. Sinclair. Unless Tom wants to see you, otherwise you can only move around on this level."
Tanya Sinclair: "..."
It was scorching and hot on the deck, the air filled with the smell of humid sea breeze, Tanya Sinclair had no interest.
She stayed in the room all day.
Luckily, the gun was still on her.
This gave her an enormous sense of security.
As night fell, Tanya Sinclair gazed through the window at the overwhelming darkness outside, her mind flooded with thoughts, she thought of Caden and Joy, wondering if the two little ones were eating well, if they were missing their mother...
She also thought of Declan Pierce.
Wondering if he was alright, hurting or not...
Secretary-General Crawford had already agreed to help her get baby grass, once she returned, she could prepare the medicine according to the ancient prescription, which said it could renew bones and regenerate blood...
If it was before, Tanya Sinclair certainly wouldn’t believe it, but now, as long as there’s a sliver of hope to save Declan Pierce, she would try.
Tanya Sinclair closed her eyes, remembering the words her grandfather Horace Sinclair said before he passed away.
’Tanya, Declan Pierce looks like everything’s alright. Actually, every inch of him is in pain every moment... If you can’t keep him, just let go.’
Tanya Sinclair raised her hand to wipe away the traces of tears from the corner of her eyes.
She sniffed, her eyes full of determination.
How could she let go?
Declan Pierce promised her he would live a long life.
How could she let go early?
As long as there’s a bit of hope, she would try!
"Declan Pierce." She whispered softly, "You must obediently wait for me..."
Tanya Sinclair drifted off to sleep in a daze.
She had a dream, dreaming about the wedding scene.
It was her and Declan Pierce’s wedding.
All relatives and friends were there, the sun shining brightly, she wore a pure white wedding dress, beneath her feet was a red carpet strewn with rose petals, Caden and Joy were her flower children.
And Declan Pierce, dressed in a white suit, stood at the end of the red carpet, gazing at her with a gentle look, reaching out to her.
Tanya Sinclair’s heart was full of happiness, smiling, she walked towards Declan Pierce, grasping his hand.
But his palm was so cold, like ice.
Before Tanya Sinclair could react, she saw a pool of blood seeping from Declan Pierce’s chest, bright red and striking, spreading out, dyeing his white suit.
’Declan Pierce!’
Tanya Sinclair was terrified, watching Declan Pierce collapse in front of her.
She reached out to grab him, but her fingers passed through Declan Pierce’s body.
’Declan Pierce!’
"Declan Pierce!" Tanya Sinclair woke up startled, outside, it was already a bright, sunny morning.
Her back was covered in a layer of sweat.
How could she have such a dream?
Tanya Sinclair slapped her own face gently, warning herself, "Stop thinking nonsense!"
Declan Pierce must be waiting at home for her to return...
Just then, she heard a knock on the door.
Tanya Sinclair placed a hand on the gun in her inner pocket, cautiously speaking, "Who’s there?"
Flora’s voice came through, "Ms. Sinclair, are you okay? I’m here to deliver breakfast, we’ll arrive at Pyralis Island in two hours."
Tanya Sinclair was taken aback.
Pyralis Island?
This was a place she had heard about in the news, a small island where local forces held dominance, the terrain complex, the island full of poisonous snakes and fierce beasts, lacking resources, neighboring countries had no interest in it.
Just perfect for the terrorists, heard there were several factions on the island.
Seems like Tom is one of them.
Tanya Sinclair opened the door.
Flora held a tray, once again with fish.
"Ms. Sinclair, eating in the room again? I’ll bring it in for you."
Tanya Sinclair said blandly, "No need, I’d like to eat outside."
