Chapter 232: Chapter 232: Sacking and Thrashing Caleb Blackwood

After talking with Quentin Blackwood, Ivy Sherwood still hadn’t found a solution, but for some reason, she felt much better.

When Nina Scott learned about it, she cursed, "Shameless!"

"How can someone in this world be so shameless? Ivy, you’re not going to let him get ahold of you, are you?"

Nina Scott was worried. "If you agree, won’t everything you’ve done so far be for nothing? A complete waste?"

"Why don’t we call the police?" she said, looking at Ivy Sherwood.

Ivy Sherwood said, "With the Blackwood Family’s current power, the police probably won’t do much. Besides, this is a legal gray area. It’s unlikely Caleb Blackwood will face any real punishment."

"Then what? Should we kidnap him? Or kidnap Silas Blackwood and force him to hand over your mother’s ashes?" Nina Scott suggested another idea.

It wasn’t that Ivy Sherwood hadn’t considered it. "Kidnapping itself is illegal. What if he refuses to hand them over? Are you going to kill him?"

Nina Scott: "..."

That was out of the question. They were both good, law-abiding citizens. Things like murder and arson were beyond them.

"Didn’t you say Caleb Blackwood claims to like you? Why not make a deal with him? Tell him to prove his love for you. If he gets you the ashes, you’ll marry him?"

Ivy Sherwood said, "He’s not an idiot; he wouldn’t do that. Besides, Silas probably doesn’t even know where Caleb Blackwood put the ashes."

Nina Scott tried again, "Why not ask President Blackwood for help? Given your... relationship... if you just ask, he’ll definitely help. With Quentin Blackwood’s power, one word from him and Caleb Blackwood would surely hand them over."

Ivy Sherwood shook her head. "Quentin Blackwood has helped me too much already. These are my mother’s ashes. I want to handle this myself. There’s no need for him to have a complete falling out with Caleb Blackwood over this."

"Also, he is him and I am me. We don’t have that kind of relationship. We have no relationship at all."

Ivy Sherwood lowered her gaze. She was frantic about her mother’s ashes, but she figured someone else was probably even more desperate than she was.

Anna Nash had done so much just to marry Silas Blackwood and become the young mistress of the Blackwood Family.

’She’s not going to give up this easily. So, I’m not completely out of options.’

Having thought of so many useless plans, Nina Scott was also getting desperate. "So what do we do? We can’t just stand by and watch Caleb Blackwood act so arrogantly."

Nina Scott was so angry she was gritting her teeth, her fists clenched. If Caleb Blackwood were in front of her right now, she would have punched him.

Nina Scott even threw a couple of punches into the air. When Ivy Sherwood saw this, her eyes lit up.

"Nina, do you want to go beat him up with me?"

"Beat who up? Caleb Blackwood?"

"Mhm. Throw a sack over his head and beat him up. It might not solve anything, but at least it’ll feel good."

Otherwise, Ivy Sherwood really couldn’t swallow this insult.

...

That night, Caleb Blackwood had a dinner meeting. He drank a fair bit and was a little dizzy.

His car was nearby, so Caleb Blackwood headed directly for the parking garage.

But when he was halfway there, something was suddenly pulled over his head. Before Caleb Blackwood could even react, a rain of fists fell upon his body and face.

"Ouch, OUCH! Who is it!" Caleb Blackwood cursed.

He tried to get up but was kicked several more times, leaving him in a pathetic state.

He, Caleb Blackwood, had lived for more than half a century and had never experienced something like this—actually being beaten up by someone.

Ivy Sherwood was getting her satisfaction, aiming all her punches at Caleb Blackwood’s face. She had always been respectful to him in the past, but he was just too despicable. A beating was letting him off easy!

"Who the hell are you?! When I find out, you’re dead!"

Ivy Sherwood wasn’t afraid of him finding out. So what if he did? There was no need for her to maintain a superficial relationship with Caleb Blackwood anymore.

Ivy Sherwood landed a few more vicious punches on Caleb Blackwood’s face, unleashing all her pent-up fury.

After the beating, Ivy Sherwood felt great. Without a second thought, she grabbed Nina Scott and they left.

Once they were outside, Ivy Sherwood let out a long breath. "Satisfying!"

"I feel great too! I never thought I’d get to beat up Caleb Blackwood. It would be better if we could just kill him. People like him should be killed to stop them from plaguing the world."

Nina Scott had also been ruthless, venting Ivy’s anger for her!

They knew they couldn’t actually kill him, so they had to keep it within certain limits.

They had come fully prepared for the assault, with masks and hats. Even if Caleb Blackwood investigated, as long as he didn’t see their faces, they could deny everything.

"But what about him using your mother’s ashes to force you into marriage?" Nina Scott was still worried.

Ivy Sherwood pressed her lips together tightly. After a moment, she said, "We’ll find a way."

Ivy Sherwood and Nina Scott had run off quickly. By the time Caleb Blackwood pulled the thing off his head, there was no one in sight.

He looked down and saw that a burlap sack had been put over his head.

The Director of the Blackwood Group was ambushed in a parking garage, had a sack thrown over his head, and was beaten up. If word of this got out, how could he ever show his face again!

Caleb Blackwood scrambled up from the ground, discovering that his whole body ached, especially his face.

His driver was still sitting in the car. Because the garage was full of cars, he hadn’t noticed what was happening over there.

It wasn’t until the rear door opened and Caleb Blackwood got in that the driver saw his boss’s bruised and swollen face in the rearview mirror.

The driver gasped. "D-Director Blackwood, are you alright?"

"Do I look alright to you? You’re fired!"

"I..." The driver was at a loss. He was fired? Just like that?

"Get lost!" Caleb Blackwood was in a foul mood. He felt like killing someone.

The driver scrambled out of the car. He hadn’t gotten far when Caleb Blackwood’s voice called out from behind, "Get back here! Take me to the hospital!"

After telling the driver to get lost, he realized he’d been muddled by anger. Without a driver, he was completely stuck.

The driver returned and took Caleb Blackwood to the hospital.

Caleb Blackwood’s eyes, nose, and mouth were all swollen. After his wounds were treated and bandaged, his head looked like it was wrapped up like a mummy.

The Blackwood Family soon heard about the incident. Silas Blackwood was the first to arrive, as he was already at the hospital.

Mrs. Blackwood arrived soon after. Seeing Caleb Blackwood in this state, she started cursing, demanding to know who did this.

An incident like this? There was no way Quentin Blackwood would miss the chance to come and gloat.

Looking at the mummy-wrapped Caleb Blackwood, Quentin, who was known for his impassive demeanor, had a trace of a mocking smile on his face.

"Brother, who did you offend to deserve such swift retribution?"

Caleb Blackwood’s panda-like eyes looked at Quentin Blackwood. He tried to narrow them to give off a cold glare, but he had no idea how ridiculous he looked.

Quentin Blackwood brazenly took out his phone, right in front of Caleb Blackwood, snapped a picture, and sent it to Ivy Sherwood. He also sent three words: You did it.

It wasn’t a question, but a statement.
