Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Don’t Tell Me Younger Uncle Is Jealous?

In the end, Ivy Sherwood didn’t throw up. She rinsed her mouth with water, then scrubbed her hands several times with soap, washing away every spot Gabriel Walker had touched until they were spotless.

She then splashed her face with a couple of handfuls of water. Feeling a bit more clear-headed, she finally decided to leave the clubhouse.

However, as she was leaving, Ivy saw a man standing in the distance.

Clad in a dark suit, his nearly 1.9-meter frame was as imposing as a statue. The clubhouse lights glinted off him, illuminating a natural air of nobility and cold detachment—an imperial aura that was impossible to ignore.

’Quentin Blackwood?’

’So when that person mentioned a big shot had booked the whole place, they were talking about Quentin Blackwood?’

"Good evening, Uncle." Ivy Sherwood walked over and greeted him.

But Quentin Blackwood was ice-cold, showing no intention of responding. He looked as if he didn’t even know who she was.

Ivy didn’t press the issue. She still had to get Gabriel Walker to sign the contract. ’I can’t have drunk all that for nothing.’

"Well, enjoy your evening, Uncle. I won’t disturb you any longer." With that, Ivy prepared to leave.

But she hadn’t taken two steps before a strong hand clamped down on her arm.

"Uncle... Quentin Blackwood, you...!"

The man’s face was livid. Before Ivy could say anything more, he dragged her back and into the private room where Gabriel Walker and the others had just been.

Nearby, Julian Grant was dumbfounded, unable to understand what was happening.

’Could it be that Quentin Blackwood has had unique tastes all these years? Has he actually taken a liking to this clown girl?’

’No wonder so many people have tried to throw women at him, and he never even spared them a glance. So it turns out he doesn’t even like the pretty ones?’

...

The private room was filled with a foul mix of stale alcohol and cigarette smoke. Quentin Blackwood frowned and sat down on the sofa.

However, as soon as he sat, he felt something digging into him.

Quentin pulled a condom from the sofa cushions and tossed it in front of Ivy.

Ivy was already dizzy from the alcohol. When she saw what Quentin had produced, she picked it up and examined it closely before realizing what it was.

After all, she and Quentin had used several of them that night. Suddenly, she had no idea how to react.

If not for the dark foundation caked on her face, her crimson cheeks would have been on full display.

"You carry these around with you, Uncle?"

’He couldn’t have chased everyone away and kept me here just to do *that* kind of thing, could he?!’

The lighting in the room was dim, casting shadows on Quentin’s face that made his features and sharp angles even more distinct.

’This man really was ridiculously good-looking.’

The Buddha Beads on his wrist added a touch of mystery and asceticism, enough to drive other women wild.

"Ivy Sherwood, take a good look at who brought this!"

Ivy sat down right next to Quentin, propping her chin on her hand as she gazed at the captivating man.

She leaned closer, the scent of alcohol on her breath growing stronger. Her red lips were right before Quentin’s eyes, parting and closing.

"Uncle, right now you look like you’re here to catch a cheating spouse."

A vein throbbed on the man’s forehead. He spoke through gritted teeth, "Looking for a death wish again?"

"It was just a joke. Can’t you take one, Uncle?"

"Don’t get the wrong idea, Uncle. I’m just here to discuss a partnership. I’m a respectable person."

"Does a respectable person whisper in someone’s ear to discuss a partnership? Why didn’t you just sit in his lap to talk it over?"

Ivy froze for a two seconds. "You saw that?"

She had lowered her voice when she threatened Gabriel Walker, and she had leaned in a little closer.

"Your tone sounds a little sour, Uncle. Anyone who didn’t know better would think you were jealous."

As soon as Ivy finished speaking, her eyes met Quentin’s furious gaze, which seemed to ask, *And you think you’re worthy?*

Ivy was just joking, of course. She knew that a powerful man like Quentin Blackwood, whom she had barely met twice, would never be jealous over her.

"You should know better than I do what businessmen are like, Uncle. They’re the ones who brought that thing; it has nothing to do with me."

"If you know what businessmen are like, then why did you still come?"

"Are you worried about me, Uncle?" Ivy blinked, her eyes, now tinged with amusement, sparkling with life.

"Don’t worry, Uncle. Looking like this, no one would be interested in me."

’Her current appearance is my best camouflage. Silas Blackwood himself said my face was disgusting.’

’The only shame is that I didn’t disgust him to death!’

’No one would give me a second glance. And yet, that President Walker actually showed some interest. If I’d known, I would’ve put on even uglier makeup before leaving the house.’

"You are Silas Blackwood’s fiancée," Quentin reminded her. "The Blackwood Family will not accept a woman who can’t control herself as its matriarch."

Ivy laughed. "You’ve just given me an idea, Uncle. Tell me, if I go find a few more men, do you think Silas Blackwood will call off our engagement?"

"You can try!" The man’s voice was freezing.

Ivy felt like he was about to strangle her in the next second.

She had no desire to try. Even if the method worked, she had no interest in other men.

"Since you’ve booked the whole place, Uncle, I won’t disturb you any longer. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving now." Ivy held the contract she had brought with her.

’I’ve already offended him and burned my bridges. No matter what, I have to secure this contract.’

As she stood up, her head was still a bit dizzy, and she stumbled and fell.

Quentin’s reflexes were quick. He caught Ivy by the waist, pulling her into his arms. As a result, Ivy landed right in Quentin’s lap.

Her face was now extremely close to Quentin’s. Their breaths mingled, and the sharp scent of cedar exploded in her mind.

Looking into those deep eyes, she felt as if she could fall into them at any moment.

Ivy’s red lips parted slightly. "Uncle..."
