Chapter 152: Dangerous Forest: Perfect Grinding Area

’I don’t have a healing ability, Fel isn’t here, and there’s nothing like a healing potion,’ Leon thought with a frown.

"Hey, Boss-"

"Call me by my name."

Marie was surprised, but nodded. "Alright, Leon. You... don’t need to worry too much about my arm. I can tell that it’s a serious injury, but I’ll probably heal after a month of rest if we bandage it."

Leon’s eyes narrowed, and he shook his head. A month was too long.

Marie was a strong fighter, and her absence in combat would be too glaring for the team.

’No use racking my brain here. Let’s get her back to the camp first.’

He went to her side and gently scooped her into his arms after sending their weapons into his storage ring.

"This... I can walk, though," Marie spoke hesitantly, her head lowered to hide her expression.

"There’s no need."

Leon shook his head and paused beside the mutated beast corpse. Carefully shifting her weight to one arm, he sent the panther’s body into his storage ring along with the dropped treasure cube.

The next moment, he blurred, heading straight for the Floyd Camp. It didn’t take him long to reach the main villa in the Core Ring, as no one stopped him.

No one even noticed him when he passed except that they felt a gust of wind brushing past them.

When the maids saw Marie’s condition, their expressions paled, but they were quick to react. One of them immediately went to fetch a first-aid box, which Leon appreciated.

He gently laid her on the couch and immediately started to bandage the arm while ensuring none of her bones were out of order. Only when he was done did he finally sigh in relief.

At least, her condition wouldn’t worsen like this.

"You... were you a nurse?"

Hearing that question, Leon looked at Marie, then chuckled. "No, but I was studying physiotherapy before the apocalypse started."

"Physiotherapy, hm? I see. No wonder you’re quite skilled at it," She nodded to herself.

Leon didn’t know how to feel when he realized this woman wasn’t really concerned about her injuries. It was then that he realized his thoughts were quite hypocritical.

"How are you going to heal those wounds on your chest? Fel isn’t here at the moment," Marie frowned as she looked at the five bloody holes on Leon’s chest.

He blinked and looked at his own injuries. "Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. This is a minor wound."

"A minor wound, huh..." She muttered with a bitter smile.

Without paying much attention to her, Leon considered his next course of actions.

’Looks like if I want to hunt properly, I’ll have to give my all.’

His fight against the Level 50 Tier One Evolved Shadow Panther had taught him one thing.

The world wasn’t going to wait for him simply because he was stuck in the unranked stage. Even if he couldn’t level up, he could still grind and gain experience in fighting several mutated beasts.

Turning to Marie, he said. "You should stay here and rest for a while. If you need anything, call the maids. I’ll be heading out now."

The woman looked like she was about to say something, but stopped herself and nodded. After all, she didn’t want to limit him.

Leon went to his room and put on the Phantom Assault Armor. Strapping the greatsword to his back, he stretched his arms and soon disappeared from the villa, returning to the dangerous forest where powerful mutated beasts resided.

This time, Leon wasn’t just exploring. He was actively searching for enemies to take down. Although he was injured, it was just as he said. It was a minor injury.

He didn’t want to waste Instant Recovery on something that small. Soon, he found his first prey.

It was a mutated rhinoceros with a horn that was longer, sharper, and possessed a metallic sheen. Unfortunately for the beast, it wasn’t Tier One yet, so it posed little threat to him.

Using the beast’s shadow to restrain its powerful legs for a few seconds, he swung his sword at the back of its neck. His blade only met a brief resistance before the monster’s head was cleaved off its neck.

Roar!

An anguished roar escaped the monster’s mouth, but was cut off the instant it was beheaded.

[You have slain a Level 24 Mutated Steel Rhino!]

[You cannot level up!]

[Progress has been stored!]

Touching the dead monster’s body, Leon sent it into his storage ring and straightened.

’I should have space for one or two more monsters of its size. After that, I’ll have to go back and drop them at the camp.’

Glancing around, he realized that there was no additional reward for killing the beast. It seemed the Star Stream would only give him something whenever he fought seriously.

’Welps, next prey. This... looks like I might have to return to the camp soon.’

Sensing the approach of another monster two hundred meters away, Leon smiled bitterly as he got ready.

Soon, some smaller trees were knocked down when a giant white snake over a hundred meters long and as thick as two trucks appeared before him. Compared to this monstrosity, Leon was like an ant.

His black eyes met the icy blue eyes of the mutated snake, and he couldn’t help but remember someone.

’Hm, the resemblance is not bad.’

Unfortunately, his opponent wasn’t ready to entertain his thoughts about its resemblance to a particular person.

The mutated snake hissed sharply, then opened its mouth towards him.

Leon frowned as he felt the temperature plummet. ’Ice!’

Swiftly, he jumped back just in time to see a beam of ice energy crash into the place he had been standing.

There was actually a deep crater there, and ice had spread five meters around it.

’Okay, this might be a little bit harder.’

When the snake realized its enemy had dodged, its blue eyes flashed coldly, and it attacked with its tail this time.

Seeing the colossal wall of flesh covered in white scales looming over him, Leon didn’t hesitate and slashed upward with his full strength. If he didn’t give it his all, he might suffer several broken bones or get crippled.
