Audric’s Dragon Eyes suddenly contracted.

His wings flapped violently, trying to retreat, but the speed of the giant was faster than he anticipated.

The sword blade grazed his neck, slicing off several golden dragon scales, which floated down from the air, landing on the ground with a crisp sound.

The dragon let out an angry roar, clawing at the giant. The giant sidestepped to avoid it, the dragon’s claw skimming its shoulder, leaving deep scratches, but the metallic yellow sand quickly filled those gaps, with the wounds healing visibly.

The giant backhanded a sword strike aiming at the dragon’s chest.

The tip of the sword slipped into the gap between the scale armor, piercing the flesh, causing the dragon pain and forcing him to retreat backwards, with blood gushing from the wound as golden blood splattered through the air.

Vera did not miss this opportunity.

Her thorns surged from the ground, wrapping around the dragon’s tail, firmly anchoring it in place.

The dragon struggled, sweeping its tail to break several vines, but more vines entangled it.

Her face was as pale as paper, but her gaze remained unwavering.

Vera knew it was her last chance; she had to join forces with Duke to deal with Audric, or else she would be eliminated.

Audric’s wings suddenly spread open, a burst of golden light exploding from within him, shattering the thorns coiled around him inch by inch.

His Dragon Eyes no longer focused on Duke, nor on Vera, but instead gazed skyward.

A stream of ancient, cryptic syllables poured from the depths of his throat, sounds not utterable by humans but spoken in dragon tongue, the inherent language passed down through the Golden Dragon Bloodline.

Each syllable felt like a heavy hammer striking between heaven and earth, causing the air to tremble, the ground to crack, and even the lead-gray clouds overhead began to disperse.

The clouds parted, revealing the deep, dark firmament above them.

Lights appeared on the firmament.

Not just one, but countless, densely packed like a scattered river of stars.

Those lights grew larger and brighter, dragging golden tails, as they fell towards the ground.

They weren’t meteors, but dragon breath, compressed, fragmented, and replicated forms of dragon breath.

One, ten, a hundred, a thousand, the dragon’s meteor shower engulfed the entire battlefield.

The first golden meteor struck the ground, blasting open a deep pit several yards wide, sending soil and rubble flying in all directions, turning the dirt at the bottom of the pit into glass.

The second, third, and fourth followed closely behind, with no target, no direction, indiscriminately bombarding the entire area.

Duke’s sand flow whirled frantically around him, forming an impenetrable sand barrier.

A meteor crashed onto the sand barrier, causing it to violently tremble, a layer of sand particles blasted off the surface, but more sand flow surged forward to fill in the gaps.

The second, third... the sand barrier resisted the first three, but when the fourth came crashing down, a crack appeared in the barrier.

Duke gritted his teeth and infused more metallic yellow sand into the barrier, healing the crack, but more meteors continued to plummet.

Vera’s situation was even more perilous.

Her thorns were fragile as paper against the dragon’s meteor shower, one meteor capable of shattering a large area.

She no longer tried to use thorns for defense; instead, she retracted them in front of her, layering them to wrap herself like a massive vine cocoon.

Meteors struck the vine cocoon, peeling away her defense layer by layer, and with each peeled layer, her face grew a shade paler.

Blood dripped from the corner of her mouth, but the vine cocoon continued to thicken.

Duke knew this couldn’t continue.

He had to interrupt Audric’s spell casting.

The giant tore up from the ground, its dark golden form streaking through the meteor shower, as swift as lightning.

Meteors struck its body, bursting into golden sparks, leaving deep scars, but metallic yellow sand kept filling the damages, and the giant’s speed didn’t slow a bit.

It collided directly with the dragon, raising the longsword, swinging it towards the dragon’s neck.

Audric’s Dragon Eyes flashed with a hint of cold light, forcing him to halt the dragon’s meteor shower and raise a claw to block.

The sword blade struck the dragon’s claw, exploding into a glaring light, dragon scales shattered, golden blood splattered.

The dragon’s meteor shower paused, but Duke did not.

The giant’s second sword slashed swiftly, Audric dodged sideways, the sword blade grazing his chest, carrying away a piece of scale armor.

Vera burst forth from the vine cocoon.

Her face was so pale it seemed devoid of blood, but those serene eyes ignited with a final flame.

Vera bit through the tip of her tongue, blood dripping from the corner of her mouth, landing on the emerald green seed in her palm.

The seed glowed in her palm, sprouted, grew, and bloomed into a pure white flower.

In the center of the flower was a closed eye.

Vera closed her eyes, and the eye in the flower’s center slowly opened.

It did not look at Audric but instead focused on the space around him.

There, six black vortices were forming.

The vortices appeared around the dragon, east, south, west, north, above, and below.

Each vortex was several yards wide, with edges as deep as abyss, centers as dense as ink.

Ancient emanations rose from the vortices, not Wizard’s magic power, not Elemental Spirit’s energy, but a more primitive, more pure force, from deep within the plane, belonging to the most intrinsic life force of plants.

Six enormous thorns emerged from the vortices.

Each one was as thick as a barrel, covered in countless sharp spikes, the tips glowing with a faint blue light.

Their color wasn’t green, but was ink-black, like vines soaked by the abyss.
