Chapter 858: Chapter 771: Revealed (Part 2)

This is a special form of elemental transformation.

The dragon swooped down, its claws tearing through the air, reaching for Adrian.

Adrian’s body suddenly dispersed into countless interwoven red and blue specks of light, like a swarm of frightened fireflies scattering in all directions.

The dragon’s claws passed through the light specks, grasping nothing.

The light specks reformed hundreds of meters away, and Adrian’s figure emerged from the void, his complexion a few shades paler than before, but still standing.

Audric’s dragon eyes slightly contracted.

Elemental transformation, one of his most disliked abilities.

Physical attacks are almost ineffective, energy attacks are partially absorbed.

The dragon did not give up; it opened its mouth, and a golden dragon’s breath transformed into a thick pillar of fire, sweeping across the area where Adrian stood.

Adrian dispersed again, the light specks scattering. The pillar of fire passed through the gaps between the specks, scorching the ground’s soil but not harming him in the slightest.

Vera did not stand by idly; her thorns surged from the ground, entangling the dragon’s tail, trying to restrict its movements.

But those thorns were as fragile as paper before the golden dragon scale armor; the dragon’s tail swept them away, tearing them all apart.

She then conjured a thick vine, aiming to wrap around the dragon’s neck.

The vine just touched the dragon scales and was burned to ashes by the golden light emanating from the scales.

Her attacks had little effect; the golden dragon’s true form had such high resistance to elemental attacks that all her efforts seemed like mere tickles.

But she did not stop; she knew that even if she could only divert a sliver of Audric’s attention, it could buy more time for Adrian.

Audric’s patience finally wore thin.

His eyes shone with an astonishing golden light, so bright that the entire ancient battlefield was bathed in gold.

Audric’s dragon eyes were no longer vertical slits but had transformed into two suns, hovering within the clouds, gazing down upon everything on the ground.

The clouds above began to swirl, forming a massive golden vortex with the dragon at its center.

At the center of the vortex, a giant dragon’s vertical pupil slowly emerged.

The pupil was so large, it nearly covered the entire sky.

Its edges burned with golden flames, and the pupil was a deep, bottomless dark gold, as if it could devour all light.

The pupil slowly rotated, looking down upon the earth, surveying every life on the battlefield.

When the pupil locked onto Adrian, his body suddenly stiffened.

An invisible force surged from the pupil, pressing on him like a mountain.

Adrian’s elemental transformation began to shake violently, the red and blue light specks scattering like fireflies in a storm, unable to regroup.

He wanted to disperse, but the force suppressed him, preventing him from disassembling his body.

He wanted to reassemble, but the force tore at him, preventing him from forming a solid shape.

Adrian’s elemental form struggled intensely between semi-real and semi-void, like a moth caught in a web.

A glimmer of cold light flashed through Audric’s dragon eyes.

The massive vertical pupil in the sky slightly contracted, and a thick golden beam shot out from the depths of the pupil, blasting towards Adrian.

The beam was so wide, it covered all possible escape routes for Adrian.

It moved so fast that Adrian had no time to react, the oppressive force leaving him unable to even move a finger.

The beam struck Adrian, and the red and blue light flickered madly amidst the golden torrent, like the last few lanterns in a storm.

They struggled for a moment, then extinguished.

Adrian’s figure vanished in the golden light.

Only two remained on the battlefield.

Vera stood among the withered thorns, her white magic robe fluttering in the wind.

Her face was as pale as paper, but her gaze remained steadfast.

The dragon lowered its head, its burning golden eyes fixed on her.

Audric’s voice emerged from the dragon’s mouth, low, hoarse, with a hint of weariness: "Only you remain."

Vera did not speak.

She raised her hand, and more thorns surged from the space behind her.

Audric did not give Vera more time to prepare.

The dragon’s wings suddenly closed together and then abruptly spread open, creating a gust of wind that uprooted the remaining thorns from the ground, sweeping them into the air.

Its dragon eyes locked onto the white figure, and a dark red glow gathered again in the depths of its throat.

This time, the dragon’s breath was even more intense, as if it intended to burn the entire battlefield to ashes.

Vera did not retreat. From the spatial rift behind her, countless vines madly surged out, weaving into one giant shield after another in front of her, layered like a living fortress.

The dragon’s breath spewed out. The golden pillar of fire struck the first vine shield, turning it to ash in an instant, then struck the second one, which also shattered.

One after another burned and collapsed, but more vines surged out of the rift, filling the gaps left by the destruction.

Vera’s face grew paler, the blood at the corners of her mouth had dried, and new blood seeped out as she persevered.

Audric did not stop.

His dragon claw rose and struck towards the layered vines, intending to tear apart this final line of defense with one swipe.

Just as the dragon claw was about to fall, his dragon eyes suddenly contracted as he sensed a strange yet vaguely familiar aura rapidly surging up from deep underground.

He had seen it before, but this time, the aura was even more massive, more violent, like a long-dormant volcano finally erupting.

The ground cracked open.

It wasn’t shattered by the dragon claw, but was instead pushed apart from within.

Countless streams of dark golden sand gushed out from the fissures, like magma from beneath the earth, like a waking giant beast.

The sand streams gathered, piled up, and rose in the air, ten meters, fifty meters, three hundred meters—a giant statue over three hundred meters tall rose from the ground, standing between the dragon and Vera.

This was a Giant Divine Soldier vastly different from before. The summoned Demon God this time was a warrior with a slender figure and smooth lines.

Its torso was not bloated, even considered proportionate, each muscle formed of metallic yellow sand presenting a streamlined aesthetic.

The Giant Divine Soldier had long arms, its fingers slender yet powerful, and in its right hand, it held a long and slender sword.

The sword was dark gold all over, its blade thin as a cicada’s wing, its edge flowing with a silver-white chill.

A fist-sized dark red gemstone was embedded at the guard of the sword, with flames dancing inside the gemstone.

In the eye sockets of the giant statue, silver-white flames burned, cold and sharp, like winter starlight.

It lowered its head, those silver-white eyes gazed at the golden dragon without fear, without awe, only with the desire to fight.

Duke emerged from beneath the giant statue.

Dark golden sand streams swirled around him as he walked steadily, his face expressionless.

Duke raised his head, looking at the enormous golden dragon that blotted out the sky, his gaze as calm as if he were looking at a stone.

Audric’s dragon eyes shifted from the giant statue to Duke and back to the statue.

In those eyes burning with golden flames, anger, surprise, unexpectedness, and something indescribable flashed alternately.

Then, the dragon laughed.

The laughter came from its mouth, low and hoarse, but carried with it an almost manic mirth from the heart.

"Duke!" The dragon’s roar shook the entire battlefield, "You finally came out!"

The dragon’s wings flapped vigorously, lifting its massive form a bit higher, as it looked down upon the small figure on the ground.

"Last time you escaped, but this time, you have nowhere to run! This Gladiatorial Arena is only so big, every corner, underground, the sky, all are within my senses, you have nowhere to escape!"

Duke raised his head, looking at the golden dragon, at those dragon eyes burning with rage.

His lips curled into a slight smile.

"Nowhere to escape?" Duke’s voice wasn’t loud, but it cut clearly through the gale and dragon roars, reaching the dragon’s ears, "The one with nowhere to escape—it’s you."

The statue moved.

The over three hundred meter tall warrior made no sound, simply lifted off from the ground like a dark golden lightning, charging towards the dragon.

Its speed was unbelievably fast, completely unlike what a giant statue should be capable of.

The longsword in its hand drew an arc, the silver-white chill on the blade slicing through the air, slashing towards the dragon’s neck.
