Chapter 189: Chapter 151: Resurrection and Reunion with an "Old Friend

Lorna looked quizzically at the room key in Isaac’s hand, still not understanding why simply checking in would make their hidden observers retreat.

Seeing the confused Lorna, Isaac smiled faintly and explained, "Only people from the Terra Empire can stay at the Terra Cottage. The people watching us from the shadows probably didn’t have any ill intentions; it was just routine surveillance. This is a country at war, after all."

"Oh... so the Terra Empire isn’t their enemy. As long as we could check in normally, it proves we aren’t allied with the Rebel Army, at least." Realization dawned on Lorna. No wonder. She had just been wondering why a country at war would let them into the city so easily.

Although Isaac had shown his noble crest and Magic Book, few people could recognize them. This was especially true for the crest. As a newly-appointed noble—and one subordinate to the Border Nobility at that—not even many nobles within the Empire would know it, let alone anyone outside.

"Exactly." Isaac nodded, then led Lorna and Smith up to the second floor. They each found their rooms, and ten minutes later, they all met back at the entrance.

The trip to their rooms wasn’t to drop anything off. Isaac now had a massive Phase Space that could hold a great many things. All their luggage was inside it, so if trouble arose, they could leave at a moment’s notice. It was extremely convenient.

Going to the rooms was just to perform a routine check and ensure there were no listening devices.

Even though this was the Terra Cottage, where such things theoretically shouldn’t exist, that was just in theory. Who knew if there were spies inside?

When you’re out and about, it’s better to be cautious.

At the cottage entrance, Isaac casually tossed out a pumpkin, which transformed into a pumpkin carriage. He then led Lorna into the carriage, while Smith took the driver’s seat.

"Hm? What are you doing here?"

As soon as they stepped into the carriage, Isaac and Lorna froze. A transparent jellyfish was draped over one of the seats, several of its slick tentacles drifting aimlessly along the carriage walls and floor.

"I don’t know. I just woke up and found myself in here," Aein said listlessly, raising two tentacles to rub its sleepy eyes. "Where is this? Did we go out?"

"Oh, I almost forgot you went to the dream realm..." Isaac looked at Aein, speechless. Ever since Aein had satisfied Isaac with one... Prayer Technique, it had been spending long periods in the dream realm to accumulate Wish Power.

It had been so long that Isaac had almost forgotten he even had a Fairy Elf like this.

"Isaac, what is..." Behind him, Lorna blinked her big eyes, curiously staring at the transparent jellyfish draped on the seat.

"Allow me to introduce you. This is also one of my Servant Demons, a Fairy Elf named Aein."

"Another Servant Demon... You have so many..." Lorna remarked, then looked in amazement at the transparent tentacled creature, Aein. She couldn’t connect it with an Elf at all. "Uh, *that’s* a Fairy Elf?"

"Yes. As much as I hate to admit it, it’s true." Isaac shrugged helplessly.

"Alright then. Hello, Aein. I’m Lorna."

Aein looked at the small, fair hand Lorna extended. It hesitated for a moment before reaching out with a tentacle to shake it. Aein had actually wanted to say that its name wasn’t Aein, but after thinking about the way humans name things, it abandoned the thought and went back to sprawling on the seat.

Isaac and Lorna each found a seat. Amid the astonished gazes of passersby, the pumpkin carriage slowly began to move toward the Royal Palace.

Before long, Isaac’s pumpkin carriage stopped at the gate of a manor next to the Royal Palace. The three of them disembarked.

"Whoa~ what a huge manor! Who owns this place? It’s enormous!" Lorna, with Aein now perched on her shoulder, looked at the massive manor before them, her expression one of shock.

This was the Royal City, after all!

It might be the Royal City of a small kingdom, but the capital of any country was a place where every inch of land was worth its weight in gold. Building such a large manor within the city—right next to the Royal Palace, no less—was no easy feat.

This was about more than just being rich!

"Of course it’s big. How else could it be worthy of her status?"

"’Her?’" Lorna looked at Isaac curiously. His tone implied the person was female, but there didn’t seem to be any romantic affection in it. Instead, she sensed a faint trace of hostility...

’Was I mistaken?’

Lorna’s question went unanswered. At that moment, the manor gates swung open, as if their arrival had been anticipated. A figure in silver armor emerged... a Mechanical Body?

"Hm?" Suddenly, Lorna froze. The instant the Mechanical Body stepped out, she felt a violent surge of emotion from both Isaac and Smith!

"Do you... know each other?"

Isaac didn’t answer. He narrowed his eyes, studying the Mechanical Body in the distance. Then, he gave a short laugh and said, "I never thought we’d see the day we’d meet again. It seems His Highness the Prince thinks very highly of you... Second Brother."

"’Second Brother?!’" Lorna’s shocked gaze darted back and forth between Isaac and the Mechanical Body. ’This is...’

’What is going on?’

"I never expected it either... What I expected even less was that you would still call me Second Brother, Third Brother." A voice familiar to Isaac came from within the Mechanical Body.

"How strange. What’s your situation now? I’m sure I killed you back then. There wasn’t even much of a corpse left. How did you suddenly come back to life?" Isaac asked, curiously sizing up the resurrected Remington.
