Chapter 1455: Time To Aura Farm
I looked at the crowd of prospective students in front of me, all of them clearly intending on trying to snatch the admission slip in between my boobs.
Come on... All this for just one slip of paper? You guys could just go and hunt for them around the island and you’re choosing to fight me for mine? I think you would have a better time searching for one instead of fighting me, right?
And even if you did get it from me... You would have to face everyone else that’s left, you know? So you might not even get to keep it.
I didn’t get to voice out that complaint as the crowd lurched forward and charged at me, all of them intent on being the one to get my admission slip.
All of them converged around me and... Well... I could fight them but...
I created a portal underneath me and let myself fall into it, closing the portal as soon as I fell through.
I appeared up in the air above the island and I got to see the prospective students that had been rushing at me crash into one another when I disappeared from there.
They looked around in a panic, trying to see where I had disappeared to but none of them tried looking up to find me.
Not that I intend to stay up here anyway.
I created another portal and teleported myself into the shadows of the building.
I then cloaked myself with darkness and melted into the shadows with [Shadow Wall].
Right on time as well since several students suddenly ran past me, these ones actively searching for the admission slips instead of trying to hunt me down.
I waited for them to pass before sliding myself out from the shadows, taking the chance to look around.
The island was basically turned into a battle royale at this point as people were not only hunting for the admission slips but also other people who managed to find one.
There were a few students that I saw that managed to find an admission slip, only to get themselves knocked out by others and have it stolen from them.
I wonder why they had set this kind of test up. Perhaps this was really just to weed out the incompetent people who aren’t able to fight for themselves or something?
But when I thought about it, it didn’t really make sense for them to conduct the test this way.
This test no doubt would showcase the skills of the people who were combat focused of course, but anyone who was here to learn crafting skills and were experienced crafters would definitely not be passing this test.
Hmm... Unless... They were to just find an admission slip and hide somewhere until the time limit is up.
I remember the rules specifically saying that as long as they had an admission slip at the end of the test, they would be allowed to cross the bridge.
So you don’t actually need to carry the admission slip all the way to the bridge in order to qualify.
But even then... That would be relying on luck as well. Luck for allowing them to actually find an admission slip and luck for allowing them to hide somewhere successfully until the end.
I’m pretty sure the Academy operated on merit so... Having someone get through this based on luck did not make sense to me. There must be another rea-- Ah.
I looked around the place, specifically at the sky around the island.
I narrowed my eyes at it, trying to see past what I believe was just an illusion of the air that was made to look like the sky.
Hmm... I’m not too sure but... I have a feeling that this was actually the exhibition that Cecilia was telling me about before and all the teachers and professors were currently watching us from somewhere.
If I had to guess, they might be using this chance to look at the prospective students to decide who to accept into the school or pay special attention to.
The admission slips was just an excuse to watch everyone showcase their abilities...
Which means... I am most probably being watched right now... So I guess I should show off, shouldn’t I?
Ugghh... And I even ran away as well... That might not be in my favour.
Fine then.
I sucked in a breath and stepped out into the open, pulling out both my Shadow Sword and Light Sword.
I even made sure that the admission slip was prominently displayed in between my boobs.
A hush settled over the space I occupied and everyone who saw me slowed to a stop to watch me stroll towards the centre of the garden.
I stopped there and nodded at everyone, "Come get my admission slip if you can."
There was another pause before several of them charged towards me.
Since I was showing off here... I shouldn’t hold back.
I buffed myself with [Strength] and swung my Light Sword in an arc.
The swing sent out a large blade of air that sliced through several students in an instant before they could even protect themselves.
Without the enchantment, they would have been sliced in half but here, they were simply knocked out.
I spun back around as another group of students charged at me, this time I opted to use magic instead to show off the elements that I was proficient in.
The first one I showed was my Electromancy where I shot a [Lightning Rod], sending it crashing in the middle of the group and electrocuting them.
The next was a single [Laser] spell which I used to pierce through the torsos of several students unfortunate enough to stand in a single line.
I then spun around, dodging a student’s attempt at shooting a pile of rocks at me before countering with a [Madness Infusion] which sent him screaming to run straight into a wall and knocking himself out.
A ball of fire, lightning and ice was sent hurtling towards me from three different students so I went ahead to counter with a ball of water, earth and fire which completely cancelled them out.
The three students were still looking at me with stunned expressions when I leapt over to them and braced my swords in front of my chest.
I activated my Valour Skill [Cross Slash], my figure blurring behind them and hitting all three of them with slashes across their chests, ’killing’ them.
I stood up just in time to parry a student’s spear that was aimed at my back and I forced his weapon aside to thrust my invisible Shadow Sword into his neck.
There was no blood from where my sword penetrated his neck but the student’s eyes widened before they rolled to the back of his head and slumped down to the ground, unconscious.
I swung my sword in an arc which was just a habit of shaking off the blood, an entirely unnecessary move here since there was no blood but... Habits were habits.
More students came flying down towards me and I realised it was the group of students that had surrounded me on the roof earlier.
I turned to face them as one of them shot some kind of glowing spear at me.
I raised my hand in front of me and created a portal, allowing the spear to fly straight inside the portal with the exit directly above the one who shot it.
It seems like I made the right choice as the spear immediately exploded with a shockwave big enough to send half the group spiralling towards the ground.
While the others were reeling from the shockwave, I pumped my mana into my Light Sword and used [Strength] and [Lightning Clad] to buff myself before swinging it.
The result was a giant blade of light that had lightning sparking off its sword arc cleaving through the survivors without giving them a chance to fight back.
Anyone who was not in the Light Blade’s path was struck down by the lightning arcing from the blade.
I then lifted up my foot and stomped hard on the ground, causing a mini earthquake and jumping up into the air.
With my vantage point, I channeled my magic and rained down spells of lightning, fire, water, air, earth, light and darkness down on anyone that was in my sight.
At one point, they tried to rush at me as a group and I teleported myself into their midst, transforming myself into one of them using my Somatomancy and causing a moment of confusion before I sliced them all with my Shadow Sword.
I think I had knocked down at least a few hundred of them before the students finally decided I was not worth the effort and gave up trying to come after me.
There we go... I hope what I showed was enough for the teachers to see.
...
...
They were watching, right?
