Chapter 1454: Admission Hunting

I looked at my girls, wondering what they wanted to do. More specifically, what Delmare and Odeta wanted to do.

Well... I should have expected the answer even before looking at them.

Odeta’s eyes were shining at the possibility of fighting everyone while Delmare was just looking back at me and leaving it for me to decide.

Looking around, I found several of the other people around who were wearing the white robes move towards the bridge, clearly not intending to participate in the hunt.

There were, however, some who had started running back towards the centre of the island that we were standing on, already starting their hunt for the admission slips.

I nodded at Odeta, "Odeta... If you want to go and fight, go ahead. Try not to go overboard though..."

My Amrap lover let out a bark of laughter, "Ha! If they can’t find the slips before me and can’t even take any from me, then they shouldn’t be here!"

I gave her a wry smile before turning to my Siren lover, "Delmare, do you just want to walk towards the bridge?"

"Umm... Are you also going to compete?"

I paused for a moment, considering my options on whether I should or not.

My gaze went over to the girls who had not secured their place in the school as a student yet and my mind was made up instantly.

If I could get a few of those admission slips... I could hold on to them for my girls and give it to them in case they don’t manage to find any.

I nodded, "I’m joining the competition."

Delmare smiled at me as though she had also expected that answer, "In that case, I shall wait at the edge of the bridge, Aster. I won’t actively search for the admission slips but I’ll remain here if you need me. Ah, but if you want me to search for those admission slips as well..."

I shook my head, "It’s fine, you don’t need to if you don’t want to. I’ll just hunt for the admission slips with Odeta."

Delmare gave me a nod in understanding while I turned to the rest of my girls.

"I’ll also be collecting admission slips and... If somehow... Any of you don’t manage to get one... Come find me."

Was that unfair of me to do this for my girls? Of course. Do I care? Of course not.

If anyone has any complaints about it, come fight me. Which was also the point of this competition to begin with since they could also just intercept me and beat me to get the admission slips I collected.

Surprisingly, Katsuki bowed her head, "Mistress... If any of us are unable to get an admission slip on our own, we don’t deserve to stand beside you. Please do not worry about us."

Odeta laughed, "Wahahaha! Don’t be so modest, Katsuki! It’s just that Sister Aster and I might end up collecting all the admission slips before the rest of you get any! Then you will have to fight me for it!"

Ira narrowed her eyes, "Was that a challenge?"

"Wahahaha! If you want it to be, it can be one!"

Ok... I’m just going to pretend I didn’t hear anything over there...

Anyway... I’ll at least try and get one or two for them just in case.

I gave my girls a nod before I let my wings explode out from my back, taking to the skies and trying to look for any admissions slips that could be seen from above.

Leaving the ground behind me, I circled around the air and scanned the ground below me carefully.

But either the slips were camouflaged or they were not laying out in the open because I did not manage to find any at all even after flying around for a full minute.

I decided to lower my search height by landing on top of the roof of the entrance building, only to see a shimmer before a slip of paper literally appeared out of thin air beside me.

Ah... So they are just invisible until you get close to them. I guess this was to prevent people from doing what I did and just snatching them easily while the others have to run around on the ground.

I grabbed that paper and wondered where I could put it.

I felt it wouldn’t be a good idea to put it in my Bangle of Folding since the students might not be able to get to them in the event that someone actually manages to knock me out so I should put them somewhere they can grab easily when I’m knocked out.

I looked down at my dress that was completely bereft of pockets... Then I just shrugged and stuffed the paper in between my boobs, the top half of the admission slip sticking out noticeably.

As I did so, I heard an uproar coming from the bridge area and turned to look, only to see a wave of prospective students rushing forward.

I guess five minutes were up and the hunt had officially begun.

I watched as some of the prospective students just started fighting one another right there and then instead of searching for the admission slips, probably planning to thin out the competition first before they start searching.

Others were already dashing throughout the island to look for those slips, most of them using magic to speed them up to flit through the island as they search for admission slips.

I was just about to slide off the roof when I felt the hair at the back of my neck stand.

I spun around and raised my arms defensively, right on time too as a male Wrunch had leapt up on the roof and charged to attack me with a punch.

His fist struck me on the arm and I could feel my body rattle from the impact, though it was not strong enough to break through my defense.

The Wrunch must have been pretty confident of his strength and never met someone that could contest him in it before because his eyes widened when he saw me block it without any problems.

Without giving him a chance to recover, I went ahead to give him a punch across his temple, sending him flying away to crash onto the ground below.

As per the enchantment, he was knocked out when he hit the floor and showed no visible signs of injury.

More of them jumped up onto the roof to take his place. A female Nekomata, two male Mahuns, a female Yoblin and even an Auto.

This was my first time seeing an Auto as its body was made to be humanoid in shape but without any discernible sexual characteristics.

Of course, that was not something that was expected of all Autos and more of a personal preference for this Auto in particular.

Looking at their body, it looked like they had made themselves out of metallic alloy that was greenish grey in colour which I wasn’t really sure what the material was.

I had no time to figure it out as all of them looked at the admission slip that was sticking out between my boobs and immediately charged towards me.

I lowered myself into a stance and the Nekomata girl reached me first.

She tried to go for the admission slip directly instead of attacking me, her hand reaching out in an attempt to snatch it out from between my boobs.

But because her gaze was so focused on the slip, she did not see my uppercut coming from below her as I smashed my fist right into her chin, knocking her out and sending her flying up into the air.

One of the Mahuns also tried to do the same, though I noticed his hands were a little bit too low to be grabbing at the admission slip.

It didn’t matter anyway since I went ahead to kick him in the face, sending him flying off the roof to crash into the ground below.

The other Mahun tried to paralyse me with a [Static Bolt] spell but I simply ducked underneath it and countered with a [Laser] spell that went straight through his head, knocking him out.

The Auto was chanting some kind of spell which I did not give them a chance to cast as I immediately shot a [Fire Blast] at them, bathing them in flames which I was thinking would heat up the metal they were using as their body and disable them.

Sure enough, the Auto made a sound that might have been a scream before they toppled over and fell off the roof to crash into the ground.

I was afraid that they might shatter into pieces from the fall but they remained intact despite falling several floors to the ground.

I dusted my hands and was just about to leap off the roof when even more of those prospective students jumped up on the roof, numbering ten in total this time.

I realised that taking this spot was a mistake as everyone around could see me and they have pinned me to be someone who had an admission slip they could take.

And I believe they also wanted to try and beat me so they could claim to have bested me or something.

Tsk... Maybe I should just run away here?
