Chapter 602: Chapter 601: The Final Decision (14)

Mrs. Sinclair had indeed thought about fulfilling the wishes of her younger son, but every time she saw Bella Acker, she would think of her deceased elder son and felt uneasy.

Damian Sinclair looked at her and said, "Ronan Rhodes was responsible for my brother’s death. Even now, if he were still alive, I would find ways to avenge my brother. But what does this have to do with Bella Acker? When Ronan died, she was just an infant. Isn’t it too unfair to transfer the already settled hatred onto her just because she carries half of Ronan’s blood?"

"But..." Mrs. Sinclair wanted to say something more, but was interrupted by Bea, who came to the study after hearing the commotion.

"Mom, I believe that if Brother’s spirit is watching over us, he would want Damian to be happy too," Bea said as she walked forward, taking Mrs. Sinclair’s arm and speaking softly, "Mom, Bella is innocent, and Damian truly loves her. Please let them be together."

Tearfully, Mrs. Sinclair looked helplessly towards Mr. Sinclair, standing at the study door.

Mr. Sinclair walked over with a somber expression, pulled Mrs. Sinclair to his side, and turned to Damian Sinclair, saying, "Your mother doesn’t favor your brother over you, nor does she love you any less. In fact, she worries about your future more than anyone else. But no matter which child she neglects, it pains her. And since your brother passed away early, she carries more guilt in her heart towards him. You can go see Bella Acker if you like, but the Sinclair Family will not recognize her as a daughter-in-law. In the future, when you come home for meals or holidays, you can come alone, but you’re not allowed to bring her along, and that’s final."

After saying this, Mr. Sinclair wrapped his arm around Mrs. Sinclair’s shoulder, preparing to lead her out.

Mrs. Sinclair wiped away her tears, "Damian, if you have to make Mom choose between letting you see her and forcing you to death, then Mom chooses to let you see her. But you must know, Mom is letting you see her not because she accepts Bella Acker, but because Mom loves you more. Sob, sob..."

After speaking, Mrs. Sinclair covered her mouth and cried out loud.

Mr. Sinclair sighed, embracing her gently as they exited the study. Once out of sight of the children, his face softened, and he comforted her tenderly, "Don’t cry anymore, you know well the temper of the men in the Sinclair Family. Once they decide on someone, not even the heavens can stop them. Why push yourself so hard and make yourself suffer?"

"I... I just can’t get over it." Mrs. Sinclair sobbed, "Do you think I don’t feel pain seeing Damian like this? But whenever I think about it... I... sob, sob..."

"Alright, alright, don’t cry anymore. Ronan Rhodes is dead too, isn’t he?" Mr. Sinclair comforted his wife softly, "Let Damian handle his own affairs. From now on, just think of him as single, okay?"

"You’re the one who’s single, you’re always single!" Mrs. Sinclair said tearfully, reprimanding him, "How could my excellent son possibly be single!"

He was just trying to comfort his wife, so why was it suddenly his fault? Moreover, his wife was still in his arms, how could he be considered single?

Mr. Sinclair felt helpless, but there was nothing he could do. He had to continue comforting his wife, as it was his own indulgence that nurtured her temper.

In the study, Bea sighed and said, "Brother, you should just go. Once love is gone, it’s gone, but family ties are deep and enduring. Things will eventually get better."

"Alright, you take care of Mom’s mood, I’ll go find her."
