Chapter 133: But boss, he’s a hostage
Once they had gotten to the top, they put Michael down on a chair that had been prepared.
"Take aff the gag. He might suffocate." The leader said and the guy who put on the gag, enjoying how Michael was defenseless and powerless, clicked his tongue.
"And I was just starting to enjoy the peace." He said but took down the gag anyway.
"Cough, cough!" Michael coughed like someone with a parched throat.
"Don’t overreact, you just had your mouth gagged for a few minutes." He sounded hateful, and Michael found that irritating, so he did not hold back from retorting.
"Try getting gagged without having the chance to catch your breath and carried with your head facing down, if you’ll still say the same thing."
The remark was rude and uncalled for but the rogues ended up laughing at their fellow.
"Wow, he just told you a true fact. You shouldn’t belittle a man’s struggle." One of the others said as they laughed, causing him to go red in the face.
He couldn’t take this insult.
He grabbed Michael by the shirt.
"How dare you?! He can’t even be considered a man, this bitch that spreads his legs for those vain Alphas." He raised his fist, attempting to punch Michael when the leader called out.
"Ramon." Ramon, as the rude hateful rogue is called, turned to look at the leader, feeling dissatisfied. "If ya let what a boy toy says to ya get to ya head then ya weak,"
This made Ramon grit his teeth.
"Y’all got ya revenge soon." The leader explained and Ramon let go. "Don’t get on his skin, ya pretty boy." The leader said to Michael. "He’s a wild one."
Weren’t they all wild?
But that didn’t concern Michael. He just wanted to get the blindfolds off. He hated it being dark.
"Can..." He spoke up.
"Hm?"
"Can you take off the blindfold as well?"
"Hah, look at you making demands when you’re a hostage." One other guy said, but the leader thought differently.
"Marco, take off the blindfold." The leader said to the guy who just spoke and he looked at him in surprise.
"But boss, he’s a hostage."
"Let’s treat the hostage well for now before we make the video." The leader said and Michael’s heart skipped.
What video?
"He has to look good for the camera, you know?" He grinned and Marco sighed, taking off the blindfold roughly.
"Ah," Michael exclaimed.
"What’s that? Are you that weak?" Marco asked but Michael didn’t say anything and only squinted his eyes, trying to adjust his vision to the light.
Then, as he opened his eyes, he saw the view he was exposed to.
The sea. It was beautiful and for a moment, his breath got caught.
To think he would see such a beautiful sight in such a situation. The irony of life, huh?
"What are you dazing about?" Ramon asked, hitting the back of Michael’s head and Michael squinted his eyes.
Couldn’t he just let him be in peace?
"What? Your first time seeing such a beautiful sight?"
"And what if it is?" Michael retorted.
"Hey, don’t talk back to me." Ramon threatened.
"Then don’t speak to me if you don’t want me to talk back to you." Michael retorted, crossing the line for Ramon.
He could not stand a werewolf’s bitch talking to him like they were equals or even looking down on him.
"I’m going to make you sorry." He said, and Michael gulped.
"So you do know fear." The leader said. "I thought you were talking so boldly because you were confident we weren’t going to hit you after I mentioned the video."
Michael turned to the leader.
"What’s going on?" He asked, trying to understand the situation with the video he mentioned. "What video were you talking about?"
"Well, it’s a video where ya’ll be the star." The leader said.
He was sitting on a wooden chair in the wrong position.
He faced the chair’s back with his legs crossed over it and rested his arms on top of the chair’s head.
"What’s that about? Just so you know, I’m a very bad actor so I won’t do well in your video." He said.
"That’s fine. Ya just have to repeat the things we tell ya to say." He grinned. "It’s not hard at all. Just show how ya so desperate for your lover to come save ya before we lay our hands on ya."
Michael’s heart spiked. So, it was a video to lure Noah.
Not much different from what he had been thinking. He gulped.
He has no reason to make that video and he would rather get beaten to a pulp than put Noah in danger.
But then he’d be putting his baby in danger.
It wasn’t just his life that was on the line.
He bit his lip.
"And what will you do if I refuse to make the video?" Michael asked.
"Well, unless ya want all five of us to go rounds with ya, make a video and send to ya lover, then ya free to decline."
Michael’s body shuddered. It was such a bad situation. He would rather die than have them take his body, make a video, and show it to Noah.
"Then, can I say whatever I want in the video?"
"Nah, denied."
Michael gritted his teeth.
The leader sneered. "We’re gonna crash the New Year’s festival on the yacht anyway, so whatever ya planning, it won’t work, lad. And ya going to be our little insurance policy to get to that Alpha of yours."
Michael’s eyes widened in horror. "Do touch Michael!"
The leader’s grin grew wider. "Whatcha gonna do if I do?" He cackled and the rest laughed with him. "You’re gonna play a big part in this and are gonna watch as we take down the great Alpha Noah."
Michael’s mind raced. He had stayed calm up until now, even if he knew their intentions but hearing it from them, he couldn’t stay calm anymore.
"Why?" He asked, biting his lips.
"Could ya repeat that? Couldn’t hear ya."
"Why do you hate Noah so much?" Michael repeated and they frowned.
Ramon finally had an excuse and he hit Michael’s face. He fell over with the chair he was tied to.
"Ugh," he groaned and Ramon stepped on his face.
"You finally dug your grave, huh?"
But Michael persisted, not giving in to his violence.
"Ugh, why?" He asked, struggling with Ramon’s foot on his face. "What did he do to you?"
The leader’s expression turned cold. "Alphas like Noah think they’re above the law. They think they can rule over us, treat us like dirt. Our goal is to show him what it means to be powerless."
The rogues began to rant about their hard life as rogues and how they were despised by werewolves to the core, just because they refused to follow their rules and chased their own interests, their love.
The Blue Moon Pack was a public enemy to all rogues, so of course, the rogues would jump at any opportunity to destroy it.
Especially if the one they could take down was their prideful Alpha. Michael listened intently, his mind working overtime to find a way out.
They were going after Michael because he was an Alpha, not because he had individually hurt them?
Then they were going after the wrong person. The one they should go after is the Elders, and not the Alpha, who was just a puppet.
Just what did Rhaeger tell these men for his own personal interest? Rhaeger should know the condition of the pack more than anyone and yet he did not correct the path of hatred these rogues were on.
It was as if... He was after Noah to begin with.
Was that his aim?
’I have to find a way out of this.’ Michael thought, struggling on the floor.
He knew he had to escape, not just for himself, but for Noah and their unborn child. The thought of putting Noah in danger made Michael’s determination surge. He would find a way out, no matter what it took.
"I heard Noah is a puppet Alpha." One of the rogues said and Michael’s eyes widened.
"Yeah, I heard your lover is just a shell." Ramon said.
"If you already know that, ugh, why do you still go after him?"
"If the puppet king is gone, then the pack will go into chaos and then we’ll be able to find out the real ones in power."
Gosh, were they stupid or what? They already know Noah was a puppet all this while so why were they still going for a futile fight?
"You don’t have to take out Noah to find out who the men holding the strings are," Michael said. "It’s very obvious but it seems like you guys didn’t know. Didn’t Rhaeger tell you who the ones behind the rules and regulations in the pack are? The very ones making the absurd laws that you can’t stand?"
They went silent, looking at him like he was up to something.
"What are ya yappin about?" The leader asked, and it looked like Michael had finally caught his attention.
"Ah, it seems he didn’t tell you. Rhaeger is Noah’s Beta, so do you really think he doesn’t know who’s in power? Or what? Did he tell you something like if you take out Noah, the one in power will naturally appear?"
It looked like Michael had hit the nail on the head because they looked at him suspiciously.
"I’ll just say it once. Rhaeger is only helping you because he’s not satisfied being a Beta, not because he’s tired of the rules. He just wants to get rid of Noah."
"Don’t try to talk your way into our minds." Marco said. "It won’t work."
"But what if what I’m saying is true?" Michael asked. "What if Rhaeger is just using you to take out Noah and then plans to take you out afterwards? He’s already backstabbing his Alpha, what will stop him from backstabbing a few rogues? The ones who are making trouble and have killed their Alpha?"
