Chapter 114: Castrate him and blind his eyes?
Michael never knew he was so good at making up lies. Well, most of it was true, but the sequence was off, and he was the one who rearranged it all. The time of his thoughts, considering if Doctor Ro could be his specialist in order to closely monitor his condition, was when they were returning home.
But he just told them that it was at the time of the attack.
The only ones who knew that a part of what he said was a lie were Doctor Ro and Alyssa but of course, Alyssa didn’t know if Michael truly had that thought at the time he offered triple the amount for Doctor Ro to turn against his original partners.
So, she couldn’t say anything.
But she didn’t understand why she would want to have someone like Doctor Ro close by. He was a rogue but... She thought back to how he gave Michael a maternity book and even charged for it.
He was a money-grubber, that was a fact, but maybe he wasn’t entirely bad.
He just needed to fix that rude and nonchalant attitude of his. Maybe that would help.
"I understand what you’re trying to say, Michael. But still." Noah said. "It’ll be dangerous."
"Not if money’s involved." Michael confidently said and then turned to Doctor Ro. "What do you say?"
"No," Doctor Ro immediately refused.
"You haven’t heard my offer."
"I don’t like working." Doctor Ro said.
"And what part of it is work?" Michael asked, looking at him with a simple smile on his lips. "Unless I have people attacking me every single day, you’ll be doing nothing but hanging around."
"I don’t like this." Noah said, seriously expressing his dissatisfaction with a frown on his face.
How was it that he wouldn’t be next to Michael but a rogue would be there?
"Are you jealous?" Michael asked. Of course, he understood that frown. It wasn’t just about him going around with a dangerous Rogue, it was about him going around with another man.
"How can you two travel around, Michael? It’s just not fair." Noah said burying his head in Michael’s shoulder. "I don’t like this."
"And that’s why you don’t want him to be the one for the job, right? Not because he could be a dangerous Rogue?"
"You said it yourself. He’ll move with money so he probably won’t betray you because he’ll be blinded by his paycheck." Noah said, glaring at him. "So the only threat I can think of is that he’s a man and you..." He held Michael tighter. "I don’t want it to be him."
Michael brushed his hair and then kissed the top of his head. He was such a baby, getting jealous like this.
"Since you’ve come to such a conclusion," Sebastian spoke up. "I believe this suggestion will solve the last problem sir has."
"Castrate him and blind his eyes?" Noah asked and they all stared at him in disbelief.
Michael had his mouth wide open and Doctor Ro turned around, planning to head for the door right away.
"Hey, stop him." Michael yelled. "And Noah, how could you think of something like that?"
"I don’t see any other viable solution." Noah said but Michael pinched his cheeks.
"It’s because you’re not thinking of anything else, moron." He said and then sighed. "Sebastian, what was the solution you thought of?"
Sebastian, who was standing in front of the door to stop Doctor Ro from heading out, cleared his throat and answered.
"Alyssa will go with you." He suggested to Alyssa’s surprise. "I still don’t trust the doctor."
"Then just let me walk out." Ro said but Sebastian ignored him and continued.
"But his skills in different fields are no joke so I think it would be great having him next to Mister Michael. If Alyssa goes with him, she’ll be able to track his movements and the things he does to prevent him from turning sides at some point."
Michael wanted to decline since Alyssa and Doctor Ro were like fire and ice. They were not compatible in the slightest.
But it seemed like having someone like Alyssa, who was suspicious about everything he did, next to Doctor Ro, then she would be able to pick up on any weird habit that would lead to him turning his back on them.
"Alright, let’s do that." Michael said and turned to Alyssa, smiling. "It seems like I’ll be in your care for much longer."
"Y-yes." She bowed her head. "I’ll also be in your care, sir."
"Hey, I’m the one getting hired. Don’t I have a say in this?" Doctor Ro asked but they once again ignored him and kept talking.
"Then I believe I have three passports to prepare." Sebastian said. "What country would you like to head to first? And when will you leave?"
The question hit Michael and Noah as it reminded them they would need to be separated for a long time.
It made Michael sad.
He didn’t want to leave yet.
Couldn’t he stick around for a while longer and risk getting his relationship with Noah exposed?
Was it that dangerous that he couldn’t even see him a couple more times before leaving?
"At least till the new year," he muttered. "Can’t I stick around till the new year?" He asked, his eyes tearing up. "Noah."
Noah felt the heaviness of his name being called by Michael who was crying at heart, so he hugged him.
"I don’t want you to leave so soon either, Michael." He said with a low gruff voice.
"Please, don’t make me leave so soon."
The atmosphere changed once again.
"Excuse me," Doctor Ro called. "I don’t mean to interrupt but not only have I not been paid the promised amount, but it seems I’ll be forced to keep working once again. Since no one wants to hear me out, I’ll continue hearing you out."
They paid attention to him.
"I thought about it. If we’re going to be traveling out of the country, then I don’t mind being your doctor or bodyguard, whatever, as well as a double backstabber for your safety. As long as the amount I’ll get paid monthly is promising, I’ll do it. So, how much are you going to pay?"
