Chapter 101: What pregnancy?

Noah and Michael had a round of sex in the bathroom. He was gentle with his thrusts. So gentle that Michael got mad and yelled at him to move like he meant it.

He said,

"If you move slowly like that, you’ll just be reminding me that this is our goodbye sex, so do it harder. Make me forget for a moment and..." He bit his lip, his eyes tearing up again. "Just do it like you mean it."

Noah wanted to be careful that was why he was being gentle. But he realized that a little rough sex wouldn’t put the baby in danger since they had been doing so for so many days.

If so then he didn’t need to be careful now. But he wanted to savor every moment he held Michael in his arms and feel his thrusts more deeply.

He hoped that, even if Michael ended up doubting him after waiting for so long, he would remember the sex they had that day, the feelings he conveyed through his thrusts, and make him remember that he would return to him one day.

Noah watched Michael sleeping soundly under the sheets next to him.

They had a round in the bathroom and several more rounds in the bedroom and now it was evening.

He exhausted Michael to the point that Michael passed out.

Noah watched Michael for a while and once again felt guilty for having to put him through this.

Because of the mark, Michael would definitely suffer more from their separation.

He wouldn’t remove the mark, though. He couldn’t even if he wanted to.

He got down from the bed and stood by the window for a while, watching as the sun went down.

Maybe he’d get to have dinner with Michael before he left. Maybe a fancy dinner at a nice restaurant.

"Sebastian," Noah called as he walked out of the room with a towel wrapped around his waist.

Sebastian, who was in the living room, got up and turned to Noah.

"Yes, sir?"

"Prepare the appointment with the doctor. I need to be sure if there’s really a pregnancy before letting Michael know so I can plan things out before he travels around the world like he wants."

He said and Sebastian, who was supposed to answer, stared as if he had seen something shocking.

"What is it?" Noah asked and then froze as he heard Michael’s voice.

"What pregnancy?" Michael asked, and Noah turned around to see the confusion on Michael’s face.

He wrapped himself in the bedsheet.

"When did you wake up?" Noah asked. He was sure he was asleep just now.

"I... I opened my eyes and didn’t see you. I thought you were going to leave without saying goodbye, so I panicked and got out of bed, only for me to hear this." He explained, clutching the sheets.

"I wasn’t planning to leave just like that." Noah said. "I promised I wouldn’t ever leave without letting you know first, remember?"

Yeah, he did. That time when Michael came back home and didn’t find Noah in the house, running around frantically as he felt he had suddenly disappeared from his life.

He cried next to the trash can only to find Noah coming back.

It was at that moment that Noah realized that it would be too much for Michael if he suddenly left without any notice, not that he ever planned to.

"You can’t be serious, right?" Michael asked as he stepped closer. "About that pregnancy. You’re just imagining it, right?"

"I wish I was but..."

"Is that... Is that why you’ve been asking all those weird questions?"

"Michael, it’s still not confirmed."

"So you did have your suspicions." Michael said, looking at him in disbelief. "Why didn’t you tell me?"

"I only found out about it today." Noah said. "And it’s what I wanted to tell you before you asked us to take a bath first. I agreed because I knew that this news would make you upset so I..." He didn’t have any other excuse.

Michael almost fell to his knees.

How was it that such a thing happened and he didn’t know? What even gave them that idea? Weren’t they just speaking out of expectancy or something?

It was his body so he should’ve noticed it, right? He should’ve noticed if he was suddenly pregnant?

"Clear symptoms of pregnancy," Sebastian decided to explain why they felt he was pregnant without getting a doctor’s report first. "Frequent mood swings, loss of appetite and cravings, as well as morning sickness which resulted in throwing up, and every other random nauseous feeling you get during the day."

Michael knew those symptoms. Rather, he was familiar with them since he had been having them frequently these days.

Then, was he really pregnant?

"I wanted you to see a doctor first to confirm it after you woke up so I wouldn’t have to cause you unnecessary worry." Noah explained. "Sorry."

"It’s...it’s not your fault, right?" Michael asked his hand on his head.

Noah held him so he wouldn’t suddenly fall over from exhaustion. His legs must feel weak after all that.

"I mean, you didn’t plan for this."

"No, I didn’t." Noah said.

"So, that’s why you were so worried about me having a child while you were away and taking care of it on my own." Michael said and laughed comically as if he had been told a rather funny joke. "I understand. I... Won’t blame you. After all, the union between us was something we both wanted. So this... Might not be too bad."

"Are you serious?" Noah asked, shocked.

"Of course not. I’m terrified." Michael said and bit his thumb. "I don’t know the first thing about raising a child or even giving birth to one. It’s so frightening."

"Then let’s get rid of it." Noah said, his eyes glinting seriously but that earned him a smack on the head.

"I told you not to say stuff like that. It just makes you seem heartless. What did the child do to deserve such a fate? Deciding to get rid of it before it came to life? You’re too much."

"But I’d rather get rid of something I haven’t met than have you suffer for it." Noah said and Michael looked into his eyes. "I care about you more, Michael. In the future, when there are no more obstacles, we can have another. But for now, let’s let this one go."

Michael understood what Noah was trying to say, and even the thought of it scared him, but still ... He didn’t want to let it go.

He just couldn’t bring himself to.

"I believe the situation should first be confirmed before any further talks." Sebastian said. "I’ve made the appointment and it’s scheduled for thirty minutes from now."
