Chapter 537: Chapter 537 – Flying Island – Part 7.

(OKAY! THE HELL IS THIS?!) – thought Thanatos who was on extremely high alert.

(WHY THE HELL DID THOSE DOORS OPENED BY THEMSELVES?!)

(I tested it before, but no matter what you did, those doors would be sealed until the boss monster is defeated.)

(After the boss would be gone, the door would get unlocked and you could use them.)

(BUT THEY NEVER WENT WIDE OPEN LIKE THIS!)

(What the hell is going on?)

"Nothing is coming out." – said Thanatos to herself as she realized that no enemies were showing up.

(It doesn’t look like a trap as well.)

(....But something isn’t right.)

(There is still no notification that the dungeon was beaten.)

(...I don’t think they would throw something like "SURPRISE! INSTANT DEATH TRAP!" the moment I would go through those doors.)

(Although I remember playing one game that after I did beat the boss and the moment, I would try to open up a reward chest, I would end up straight up decapitate by the random ass trap that was just placed there.... Which ended up forcing me to do that motherfucking boss fight all over again....)

"Yeah... No." – said Thanatos as she quickly opened up her inventory and began chugging down potions, quickly restoring her HP, SP, MP and blood as she didn’t wanted her traumatic experience to resurface.

(Summons are still on the cooldown.... Nah. Waiting for them would do jack shit.)

(That lion just ran through them and killed them all in the process.)

(They couldn’t act as either distraction or a meat shields.)

"Fuck it." – said Thanatos after finishing her short recovery, before then slowly approaching the open doors, being fully aware of a possibility of an ambush or trap being set for her.

"..." – but as Thanatos passed through the doors, she quickly found massive stairs leading downwards.

(The design changed.) – thought Thanatos as she realized that neutral part of the dungeon has changed in form of appearance, putting Thanatos on even higher alert as she descended down.

And as Thanatos reached the bottom the stairs, she saw a pair of doors.

However, these ones were different.

"Bones." – Thanatos stood not in front of metallic pair of doors, but instead of doors made out of animal bones.

(Yeb. I’m not liking this one bit.) – thought Thanatos as she opened the doors herself.

"!?"

"What the hell is this crap?" – said Thanatos as she opened up the doors, she wasn’t greeted with the boss room like before, but instead with a long corridor.

However, this corridor, just like the doors, were made out of animal bones.

"...Okay?" – said Thanatos as she started walking through the corridor of bones.

(Is the next enemy a necromancer?)

(It really feels like they will all come to life and attack me?)

"..."

(Then again.... This set up.... It looks weird to say the least.)

(These bones aren’t really placed randomly to make the walls, ground and celling just smooth.... It looks somewhat ceremonial?) – thought Thanatos as she continued walking through the corridor of bones while also inspecting her surrounding.... Before few moments later arriving at the second pair of bone doors, but this time made out of extremely large animals.

"..."

(Is it a finish line? Or maybe final boss?) – thought Thanatos as with hesitation approached the door and slowly opened it up.

Thanatos got ready to fight, instantly preparing to unleash her skill from the get go.... But as the doors were fully unlocked, Thanatos saw it.

A massive temple grounds, with an altar made out of countless claws and fangs.

"...This isn’t boss area?" – said Thanatos as she realized that the room that she just entered did not looked anything remotely as area.

(So does that mean that I have-)

However, just as Thanatos entered the room, she suddenly noticed a presence.

Something was appearing in the middle of the altar.

Ghosts of countless animals.

Foxes, wolves, bears, cats, raccoons, rhinos, and lions.

Fish. Birds. Mammals. Lizards and many more, all came together into "it", combining into something.

From the countless souls, something came to me... An object. A faint bluish cloak.... But it wasn’t it.

It was a living creature, which in the very next moment sprouted several different jaws filled with the fangs from the top of its body... Before then tilted its top towards Thanatos, revealing countless "eyes" inside of that "mouth.

(Shit!) – thought Thanatos as she got ready to fight.

"There is no need to fight anymore." – said the creature of fangs.

"!"

"You can talk?!" – asked Thanatos who was not lowering her guard one bit.

"Yes..." – replied the creature of fangs.

"..."

"Good."

"You are hunter."

"A beast."

"A vampire though? Wasn’t expecting it."

"...What is wrong with being a vampire?" – asked Thanatos.

"If anything, what the hell are you?!"

"Me?" – asked the creature of fangs.

"I’m a beast."

"I’m beast made out of remains from countless beasts."

"But I’m no beast of my own."

"You can call me No-Beast."

"However, with the pride I can call myself this."

"The last priest of the god of beasts."

"I’m the one who devotes my entire being to my god."

"Gepu."

"Gepu?" – said Thanatos as she lowered her weapon.

(I don’t know-)

"!?"

"Wait, by any chance, is that so called Gepu... An elder god?" – asked Thanatos.

"?"

"An elder god?" – asked No-Beast.

"This world original god." – said Thanatos.

"Your god is one of the original gods of this world and not the invaders, is that correct?"

"Yes." – replied No-Beast.

"!"

(FUCK YEAH! JACKPOT!) – Thanatos screamed in her head.

(BUT THE FUCK IS THIS?!)

(ACCORDING TO PHANATSIA IT COULD HAD TAKEN US FREAKING MONTHS! EVEN HALF OF A YEAR TO POSSIBLE OBTAIN EVEN SINGLE DIVINITY!)

"Tell me." – said Thanatos as she could barely hold her excited.

"This place... Is it a temple?"

"A trial?"

"A place where the divinity of the elder god is stored?"

"Yes." – replied No-Beast.

"This is a temple."

"And the trial."

"For those who wishes to inherit the power and pride of my god."

"To inherit the divinity of Gepu."

"And you, hunter of blood."

"You have proven yourself."

"To inherit their divinity."

"Wait, you mean I can get it like this?! Shouldn’t there be something like a trial to prove my worth or something like that?!" – asked alarmed Thanatos.

"Well, you just did the trail, didn’t you?" – replied No-Beast.

"The lone fight."

"This was the trial."

"Conquer this temple’s guardians all by yourself."

(Wait, solo player run?! That was the condition!?) – thought Thanatos.

(I mean, I did used my own monsters...So it was my own strength.... Oh god. I may had failed if used the dungeon cores... Fuck me and thank my idiotic stubbornness!)

"So... No extra challenge or anything? I won?" – asked skeptical Thanatos.

"I mean.... You kind of did passed every single challenge." – said No-Beast.

"Not only that, but I don’t sense any corruption on you that belongs to the invaders."

"Huh...." – Thanatos put away her weapon.

"Is something wrong?" – asked No-Beast.

"No... I mean... Kind of?" – replied Thanatos.

"I know I was searching for the divinity of the elder god and wanted to obtain it no matter what."

"But.... Isn’t this... I don’t know... Bit boring ending?"

(I mean.... This suddenly became extremely boring quickly; even thought it was supposed to be an epic moment and what not!)

"I was expecting some kind of flashy effects or you, the guardian and the judge acting somewhat more... Grand to say the least?"

"Yeah... I was really not the ’grand’ speaking guy myself." – said No-Beast.

"Shit. I think I was supposed to say it first out of everything." – whispered No-Beast to himself, trying to stay quiet.... But Thanatos overheard the entire thing anyway.

"The god of beasts and ferality!"

"The one who guides the beasts!"

"The one who calls out the beasts out of the hearts of many!"

"He is the one who hunts down the heretics and the traitors alike."

"And this temple, or more exactly speaking island, is a asylum."

"A safe heaven for animals who would go extinct."

"Extinct?" – asked Thanatos as she gotten finally curios.

"Yes." – replied No-Beast.

"This floating island, the Sanctuary Of Animals."

"It was created by my god as a means of protect the lasts beasts of this world."
