Chapter 536: Chapter 536 – Flying Island – Part 6.

The massive black lion with a golden mane has once again charged at Thanatos.

Even though it could no longer see.

Even though it could no longer smell.

It could still hear Thanatos.

And find her.

(For crying out loud! He is still not slowing down!) – thought Thanatos as she was dodging the rampaging lion attacks.

"SHIT!" – however, something was different.

(HE IS WAY FASTER!) – thought Thanatos as she barely blocked the attack with her scythe, but still took some damage from the impact.

(I think it just went full berserk now!) – thought Thanatos as she swung her scythe, straight up striking the already destroyed eye of the creature.

But the lion didn’t cared, even as the scythe pierced deeper.

The lion just swung its claws.

"?!" – but it didn’t hit anything, as Thanatos was already in the air, while her scythe was left behind in the creature’s face.

[Escape Danger]

[Grant a powerful speed boost that last.]

[The skill will instantly be channeled if the user were use any other skill or take any form of damage.]

(EARS! ONCE I TAKE THEM DOWN! YOU ARE DEAD!) – thought Thanatos as she aimed to use her hand cannons which were part of her gauntlets, to unleash blast inside both of the lion’s ears.

But the lion already located Thanatos before she could even grab the ears.

The lion leaped upwards, aiming to once again bite down on Thanatos.

(FUCK!) – thought Thanatos as she aimed at the lion and fired both of her cannons that were mounted on top of her forearms, unleashing a devasting wide blasts which swallowed the lion’s face whole.... But it just brushed through the explosion of magic like nothing before then chomping down.

But Thanatos didn’t used the guns to wound the creature.

No.

She used the recoil from firing the weapons to knock herself away, moving her body away and dodging the bite, which allowed Thanatos to land on the ground.

"Listen Thanatos." - Thanatos remembers past conversation with Phantasia.

"These new cannon gauntlets are exactly like you wanted."

"The claws are laced with the paralyzing poison like you wanted."

"And as for the cannons, well, they have two mods."

"Each can fire 3 concentrated shots."

"Each is powerful, but the cooldown is extremely long, to the point that if you use up all 3 charges, you won’t be able to use these cannons for about 24 hours."

"And there is also the second mode."

"You can only use this mode by only sacrificing all 3 shots."

(And I just fucking wasted it!) – thought panicking Thanatos.

(If it were to trap me between the jaws, I would just die on the spot. I still didn’t fully recovered after having my side torn off.) – thought Thanatos as the massive lion has once again located her with its hearing, causing the massive beast to charge.

However, as the massive beast came smashing in once again, Thanatos sunk into her shadow, dodging the attack and teleporting to the large rock by using its shadow.

(God dammit. This isn’t good.)

(He can probably use the roar by now as well.)

(If he hits me with it now, I will just die right on the spot.)

(Fuck! What do I do?!) – thought Thanatos as she tried not moving even an inch, since it straight up just reveal her position.

However, even though Thanatos wasn’t moving, the lion was on the move.

But it wasn’t going towards Thanatos.... No.

It was going on the rampage.

Attacking and smashing the entire area around it while moving around.

(OH, THAT BITCH!)

(HE KNOWS I’M NOT MOVING! SO, HE IS SEARCHING FOR ME BY DESTORYING EVERYTHING?!)

(And he is moving way too fast! Fuck! It won’t be long before I will be forced to move!)

(And moment I do move, he will unleash that stun and just finish me off.)

(Probably just taking out potion and using it will reveal my location.)

(HOW THE HELL CAN I GET RID OF HIS HEARING?!)

(I need a direct hit. An aimed strike! Not some half assed bombardment!)

(I need to stab my fucking scythe right into that bastard’s ears.)

(It doesn’t really need to be scythe that is stuck in his face. I can just use different one that I have in inventory.)

(Even a spear will do.)

(But I need to make decision now!) – thought Thanatos as more and more spots throughout whole room was checked by the lion... Resulting in Thanatos’s spot quick getting closer and closer to be the next target on the list.

(What do I do?! Can I even take out his hearing before he stuns me and start going on the rampage around him?)

(Even if I take out the hearing, as long as he unleashes the stuns and goes on the rampage around it, I would still die.) – thought Thanatos as she opened up her inventory.

(Do I have anything that can help me?! ANYTHING?!) – thought Thanatos as in desperation she was looking through her inventory, hoping to find anything that could save her from her grim situation.

"..."

"Oh, my fucking god." – said Thanatos out loud, which instantly caught attention of the Pride Lion, as it finally found Thanatos, causing it to rush towards her location.

However, as the massive beast rushed towards Thanatos, she just calmly took out few items from her inventory.

A small tube-like devices, which she threw towards the black lion.

And in the next moment as the lion was about to leap towards Thanatos... The tube-shaped devices exploded.

But it wasn’t explosion that would bring destruction.

Nope.

It was a flashbang.

"!?"

The lion roared as flashbang unleashed a blinding light and defending noise, which straight up robbed the creature’s last means of detection.

The hearing.

[You have been {stunned}.]

However, the lion wasn’t done yet as it unleashed its roar, which ended up hitting Thanatos, stunning her in the process.

Afterwords, the lion went on the total rampage, destroying everything and anything around it as it aimed to get Thanatos who was nearby.

But Thanatos saw it coming.

The moment she threw the flashbangs at the lion, she instantly leaped away with her skill, creating just enough distance to not get caught in the rampage.

[You are no longer {stunned}.]

And moments later, the stun effect came undone, resorting in Thanatos regaining her freedom.

(I’m stupid.) – thought Thanatos as she took out more flashbangs from her inventory and threw it at the creature, not allowing it to regain its hearing.

(I had THESE FUCKING THINGS ON ME ALL THIS TIME!)

(WHY DID I FORGOTTEN ABOUT THEM?!) – thought Thanatos as she rushed at the lion and grabbed her scythe, straight up ripping it out of the lion’s face.

The lion noticed the scythe leaving its body and tried instantly attacked what was in front of it.... But Thanatos was already above the lion as the attack just completely missed the target.

(WHY THE FUCK I DIDN’T USED THEM BEFORE?!) – thought Thanatos as she swung her scythe, which ended up going right into one of the creature’s ears, dealing a massive damage while also straight up taking away the hearing in the right ear of the massive boss monster.

(Was it because I was panicking? That I straight up forgotten that I had this stuff?!) – thought Thanatos as she avoided the desperate bite attack launched by the lion, before then going for the second ear and piercing it, effectively robing the creature completely of its hearing.

"Fuck me... This isn’t like me at all." – said Thanatos as she just backed away as the lion was in on rampage, being completely unable to detect Thanatos in any way, be it sight, hearing or even smell.

(I’ve could had made this fight way easier if I just used these bloody things.... Yet I fucking didn’t thought about using them and even straight up forgotten their existence.)

"..."

*Sigh*

"What the hell is wrong with me?" – said Thanatos as she had no need to be careful anymore.

At this point, it was just one-sided murder.

No matter what the lion did now, it was nothing more than a helpless big cat.

No matter what the Pride Lion did, Thanatos wasn’t stopping.

Even when the lion tried again unleashing its stun, it straight up did nothing, as it couldn’t locate Thanatos and attack her.

Strike after strike, the lion’s body was covered in wounds.... Before then finally, the massive beast was slain.

"...Stay dead you fucker." – said Thanatos.

(Even when it lost all of its sense, it was still freaking wrecking ball on the rampage... But again, with my speed I was able to dodge each of those mindless attacks.) – thought Thanatos as she realized her stats returned to normal after the lion was defeated.

"..."

"Still... This was way too much."

(I admit it.)

(I panicked.)

(I made weird stupid moves which weren’t usually my area... But I fucking acted like an idiot.)

(Was it because I wanted to get that divinity no matter what?)

(That I straight up acted like a total moron because of my own greed?)

"For crying out loud. This was pathetic Thanatos. Even for you."

"..."

(Can I even beat the fifth floor?)

(The answer is no.)

(The Pride Lion was my limit.)

(If there is even a single one more boss after this one, then I’m pretty much dead meat on the spot.)

However, before Thanatos could even start moving again, she heard something in the distance, which instantly alarmed Thanatos.

The vampire turned towards the source of the noise, ready to fight.

"Eh?"

But it wasn’t an enemy.

No.

It was doors.

Specifically, the doors that were sealed.

And now?

They were fully open.

But there was a small problem with this.

(WHY THE FUCK DID THEY OPENED ON THEIR OWN?!)
