Chapter 169: The Fanatic Route Opens
Linsey shrugged. "Maybe."
Helena, Cynthia, and Evelyn stared at her as if she had suddenly been possessed by a demon.
For a few breaths, nobody spoke.
Linsey looked at their faces and grinned. "Oh, come on. Don’t look at me like that. Don’t you know him?"
Helena frowned. "Know who?"
"Damian," Linsey answered without hesitation. "Because of Damian, we could take revenge like this."
Her gaze slowly moved toward the corpse tied to the stone chair.
Without Damian’s gift, they might have needed years before they could even think of touching this bastard. His Golden Core bodyguard alone would have crushed them.
Linsey’s grin faded a little. "Also... after getting this revenge, I don’t know what to do anymore."
The basement became quieter.
Linsey looked down at her blood-stained blade. "For years, I only thought about killing this bastard. I trained, endured, smiled, and acted normal because I wanted this day to come."
Her fingers tightened around the hilt.
"Now it’s over."
Helena’s expression slowly changed.
Cynthia lowered her gaze slightly.
Evelyn stayed silent, but the hand holding her bow relaxed a little.
Linsey suddenly raised her head again, and her grin returned. "So I might as well become Damian’s concubine."
Helena’s face twitched. "Why the hell is that your answer?"
Cynthia pressed her fingers against her forehead. "Linsey, that jump in logic is a little too much."
Evelyn said coldly, "He is a pervert."
Helena nodded immediately. "A shameless one."
Cynthia added softly, "And very suspicious."
Linsey laughed. "That’s why I like him."
The other three froze.
Helena stared at her. "What?"
Linsey spun her short blade once and caught it smoothly. "He’s truthful."
Cynthia blinked. "Truthful?"
Linsey nodded. "He doesn’t hide his real personality behind some righteous face like that bastard did."
Her eyes turned cold as she glanced at the corpse again. "This man acted noble, gentle, and proper in front of everyone, but behind closed doors, he was worse than a beast."
Her voice became sharper. "Damian is shameless, greedy, perverted, and annoying as hell, but at least he says it openly."
Evelyn’s brows drew together. "That does not make him good."
Linsey shrugged. "Maybe not. But I like a man who is real."
She raised one finger. "Also, he is generous."
Helena crossed her arms. "That still doesn’t explain why you want to become his concubine."
Cynthia nodded. "Why not just become his wife, then?"
Linsey looked at the three of them like they were the stupid ones. "Hey, I know my position."
Her tone became strangely calm. "He is Elder Selvara’s disciple. He is a core disciple of the Heavenly Sword Sect. He has talent, wealth, background, strength, and that ridiculous face."
Helena’s mouth twitched. "Ridiculous face?"
Linsey waved her hand. "You know what I mean. He looks good."
Cynthia sighed. "Sadly, yes."
Linsey continued, "A man like that will definitely get better girls in the future. Sect princesses, young mistresses, powerful beauties, maybe even elders if he keeps acting insane."
Evelyn stared at her. "You thought that far?"
"Of course," Linsey said proudly. "So becoming his concubine is already good enough."
Helena looked like she wanted to hit her. "You’re serious."
Linsey’s eyes curved with amusement as she leaned closer to them. "What about you three?"
The basement instantly went silent.
Helena stared at her. "What kind of question is that?"
Cynthia’s gentle expression stiffened. "Linsey, are you seriously asking us to become Damian’s concubines with you?"
Evelyn’s icy face cracked slightly. "You are insane."
Linsey raised both hands quickly. "Oh, come on, girls. Don’t act so shocked. You are my best friends."
Her voice became faster, not giving them any chance to interrupt. "Since the day we escaped from that hell, we already decided we would stay together. We trained together, suffered together, survived together, and now we finally killed this bastard together."
She pointed at the corpse with her blood-stained blade. "Now we need a new path."
Helena frowned. "And your answer is Damian?"
Linsey nodded without shame. "Yes. Becoming his concubines is the best next step for us."
Cynthia looked completely lost. "How did you reach that conclusion?"
Linsey’s expression turned strangely bright. "Because I know all of you felt it too."
The other three paused.
Linsey’s voice lowered slightly, carrying a dangerous excitement. "That satisfaction just now. The feeling of cutting down a beast who deserved it. Don’t lie. You all liked it."
The other three frowned, but none of them denied it.
What Linsey said was the truth.
In fact, after Linsey admitted she might be addicted to that feeling, a small part of them had understood her far too clearly.
That revenge had not only freed them.
It had awakened something.
Linsey spread her arms. "Because of that, let’s form a faction. A small and secret one. We specialize in hunting, killing, and torturing bastards like this."
Cynthia’s eyes changed slightly. "People who hurt women?"
"Exactly," Linsey said. "Monsters, hypocrites, perverts, young masters who ruin girls and hide behind family power. We cut them down."
Evelyn’s voice remained cold, but her gaze had become sharper. "That is dangerous, you know. People who do this kind of thing usually have strong backgrounds. We were lucky to catch this one alone."
Linsey nodded. "Yeah, and that’s why we need to become Damian’s concubines. Right now, he has a really great background."
The three of them quickly understood.
Damian being Elder Selvara’s core disciple was not just a simple title.
That was a shield.
A terrifying one.
Linsey nodded proudly. "Who would dare inspect Damian too deeply? Everyone already knows he likes beautiful women and gives them ridiculous gifts. If we stand beside him, people will only think we’re his women."
Helena rubbed her forehead. "Damn it... that actually makes sense."
Evelyn stayed silent for a few breaths before sighing. "Although Damian is a perverted, shameless bastard, he never forced himself on a woman."
Cynthia nodded faintly. "He is annoying, but he respects women more than most righteous men."
Helena looked away. "He is also handsome and generous."
Linsey’s face brightened. "Right?"
The other three exchanged glances.
A moment later, they sighed at the same time. "Fine. We’ll accompany you."
Helena clicked her tongue. "Our lives better start getting better after this."
Cynthia looked at the corpse one last time, then lowered her gaze to the blood on her own hands. "If we really do this, there is no turning back."
Evelyn’s fingers tightened. "There was never any turning back for us."
Linsey laughed happily, her eyes shining with something almost fanatical. "Good. Very good."
She looked at her three closest friends, then toward the blood-soaked basement around them. "From today onward, not only will our lives become better, but we will also stay together."
Her smile slowly turned dangerous. "And we will follow Damian."
Helena let out a helpless breath. "You really sound like a fanatic now."
Linsey did not deny it.
Cynthia’s gentle face softened for a moment, though the darkness in her eyes did not disappear. "Maybe that is fine."
Evelyn looked toward the exit of the basement. "He gave us the chance to end our nightmare."
Helena slowly nodded. "Without his gifts, we would still be waiting, hiding, and enduring."
Linsey lifted her blood-stained blade slightly. "Exactly."
Her voice became firm. "So from now on, we trust Damian completely."
The other three fell silent for a few breaths.
One by one, they nodded.
The corpse remained tied to the stone chair behind them, ruined beyond recognition, while the four women stood together in the dim basement, their new future already paved before them.
