Chapter 139: Extreme Reward Goes Draconic
Damian walked into a quiet alley and looked at the two system screens that had appeared in front of him.
The fact that Raika’s reward screen had appeared meant the modified talisman formula he gave her had really counted as a valid gift.
Damian quickly grinned. "Hehehe, perfect. With this, I can also make modified pill formulas and talisman formulas as gifts. Good, good."
His grin slowly faded as he turned his attention toward Raika’s system screen to see what kind of reward he had received.
---
[Gift: Top-Rank Noble Grade Improved Thunder Prison Binding Talisman Formula]
[Multiplier: 150×]
[Critical Reward Triggered]
[Rewards:]
[Royal Grade Talisman Master Talent]
[Mid-Rank Royal Grade Blazing Heaven Sealing Talisman Formula]
---
Damian’s eyes widened again.
His Talisman Master Talent had actually been upgraded all the way to Royal Grade, and on top of that, he had received another powerful talisman formula.
This new talisman was also a sealing talisman, similar to the one he had given Raika, but this one used Flame Qi instead of Thunder Qi.
Damian’s grin widened again. "Good. With this sealing talisman, even I would dare fight across realms. After all, this is a fucking Royal Grade talisman."
His smile faded slightly a moment later. "Too bad I didn’t get any comprehension reward."
Damian could only sigh.
That meant he would have to learn the talisman formula by himself.
Fortunately, his Talisman Master Talent had just been upgraded to Royal Grade, which would make the process much easier than before.
"Still, a Mid-Rank Royal Grade formula is no joke. Even with Royal Grade talent, this will probably take some serious effort."
Damian quickly stopped worrying about it and turned toward the second system screen.
This reward came from Akane.
The moment he saw it, he was genuinely shocked.
---
[Gift: Top-Rank Noble Grade Diluted Phoenix Blood]
[Multiplier: 200×]
[Extreme Reward Triggered]
[Reward: Low-Rank King Grade Dragon Blood]
---
Damian was so shocked that he rubbed his eyes several times to make sure he had not read it wrong.
When the screen remained exactly the same, his grin slowly widened.
"Goddamn, Akane. You really gave me a fucking surprise. To think you actually triggered an Extreme Reward."
No matter how much Damian thought about it, he could not understand how the Phoenix Blood he had given her managed to trigger an Extreme Reward.
After all, the blood he gave Akane was only Top-Rank Noble Grade because it had been heavily diluted.
Real Phoenix Blood was far beyond that level.
In the end, Damian quickly stopped caring.
An Extreme Reward was still an Extreme Reward, no matter which treasure chest triggered it.
What mattered was the result.
Damian looked at the Dragon Blood inside his storage ring, and his grin became even wider.
This reward was truly fucking crazy.
It was Dragon Blood.
King Grade Dragon Blood.
Damian did not care whether it was normally suitable for him or not. Since this was a system reward, it would perfectly fuse with his body no matter what.
Of course, the side effect would probably be extreme pain.
Damian shrugged mentally.
"So what? I can sleep it off."
The next moment, he could no longer hold himself back and burst out laughing loudly.
He did not even care if someone heard him.
His reputation was already terrible anyway.
"Hahaha! Akane, you really are a great treasure chest!"
---
Damian stored the Dragon Blood reward away and continued walking toward the Blacksmith Hall.
He still had three gifting chances left.
Naturally, one of them had to be used on that little brat, Vulkara.
The moment Damian arrived at the Blacksmith Hall, one of the disciples immediately recognized him and hurried inside to call Elder Garron.
Not long after, Garron walked out. The moment he saw Damian, he turned around and shouted, "Vulkara! Your master is here!"
Without saying anything else, he returned to work.
Just like Damian had told him before, Garron needed to improve his blacksmithing if he ever wanted to forge a sword good enough to impress Elder Mirena.
A few breaths later, Vulkara walked out with soot covering part of her face and a hammer hanging from her waist.
She frowned the moment she saw Damian. "Master? What the hell are you doing here? You don’t need to come see me."
Damian placed a hand over his chest. "Damn. Is that really how you greet your beloved master?"
Vulkara stared at him. "Just tell me why the hell you’re here. Don’t act like that. I already know the real you."
Damian felt a faint pain in his heart, but he still smiled. "Okay, okay. I just returned, so naturally, I wanted to see my precious disciple."
Vulkara narrowed her eyes.
Damian added, "And maybe give her a little gift."
Vulkara crossed her arms and turned her face away. "I don’t need any gift. I can live perfectly fine without you, Master."
Damian’s grin slowly widened. "Really?"
He waved his hand, and a martial art jade slip appeared in his palm.
"This is a Top-Rank Profound Grade [Heavenly Forge Tempering Art]."
Vulkara froze.
Damian smiled proudly. "A special lifestyle art made for blacksmiths. Still don’t want it?"
Vulkara’s eyes immediately locked onto the jade slip.
Of course she wanted it.
She had already become serious about blacksmithing, but the lifestyle art Elder Garron had given her was only Mortal Grade.
A Top-Rank Profound Grade blacksmithing art was on an entirely different level.
Damian noticed her expression and grinned wider. "Want it?"
Vulkara gritted her teeth. "...Yes."
Damian lifted the jade slip slightly higher. "Then beg."
Vulkara’s face darkened. "Master..."
Damian’s shameless smile did not move. "Beg."
Vulkara clenched her fists.
For several breaths, she stood there fighting with herself.
Finally, her shoulders lowered slightly.
She looked down and spoke in a much softer voice than usual. "Master... please."
Damian raised an eyebrow. "Please what?"
Vulkara’s face burned red.
She lowered herself even further, her earlier pride completely gone. "Please bestow this art upon your disciple. I... I really want it."
Damian immediately burst out laughing. "Hahaha! Good! As expected of my obedient disciple."
Vulkara’s head snapped up. "You bastard!"
Damian quickly handed over the jade slip before she could grab her hammer.
The moment Vulkara received it, her anger vanished.
Her eyes lit up.
Without another word, she turned around and ran straight back into the Blacksmith Hall.
Damian watched her disappear and smiled faintly.
"Good. Personality doesn’t matter as long as you give me a critical multiplier later."
He turned around and casually walked away. After all, he had only come here to give Vulkara a gift.
The nearby blacksmith disciples stared at his back in confusion.
"What the hell did he even come here to do?"
"Give her a gift and leave?"
"Is this really why he’s so famous with women?"
Another disciple scratched his head. "Doesn’t that just make him a rich simp and a pervert?"
The others fell silent.
For some reason, none of them could completely disagree.
