Chapter 136: Selvara Visits To Mock

Sect Master Arven returned to his own room with a heavy expression.

This day had been truly exhausting.

First, Nolan’s scandal spread across the cultivation world like wildfire. Next, Nolan actually looked ready to rush out and cause even more trouble.

If Arven had arrived any later, that idiot might have already gone to attack someone.

Arven rubbed his forehead. "Troublesome disciple... just why is his secret this bad?"

Just as he sat down, a cold voice suddenly came from the side.

"Looks like your mood is terrible."

Arven’s hand paused.

He slowly raised his head and saw Selvara sitting near the window with a cup of tea in her hand.

Her expression was calm, cold, and extremely annoying.

Arven frowned. "Selvara. Why are you in my room?"

Selvara took a slow sip of tea. "To visit."

Arven’s frown deepened. "You? Visit me?"

His eyes narrowed slightly. "No. You came to mock me."

Selvara looked at him silently for a moment.

A second later, she actually laughed.

It was not loud, but for someone like Selvara, even a soft laugh was already rare enough to shock the heavens. "Heh."

Arven’s mouth twitched. "So I was right."

Selvara placed the cup down and looked at him calmly. "Of course."

Arven’s face darkened. "You are enjoying this too much."

Selvara’s lips curved faintly. "A little."

Arven snorted. "Do not act so proud. Your disciple is not much better. Damian is also a shameless pervert."

Selvara nodded without hesitation. "Indeed."

Arven froze slightly.

Selvara continued calmly, "My disciple is shameless, perverted, greedy, and troublesome."

Arven looked at her. "Then?"

Selvara’s smile became colder. "Everyone already knows that. More importantly, Damian admits it."

Arven went silent.

Selvara leaned back slightly. "He does not pretend to be a pure righteous hero while secretly doing filthy things behind closed doors."

Arven’s expression became stiff.

Selvara continued, "He likes beautiful women, yes. He says stupid things, yes. He gives gifts everywhere, smiles too much, and embarrasses me often."

Her eyes turned sharper. "But he is generous, loyal, and he respects women more than your stupid youngest disciple."

Arven’s brow twitched. "Selvara."

Selvara ignored him and laughed again. This time, the mockery was even clearer.

"Heh. To think the great Sect Master’s righteous genius disciple is worse than my shameless pervert. How interesting."

Arven’s face darkened completely. "Are you finished?"

Selvara picked up her tea again. "Not yet."

Arven closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

For the first time in many years, he truly regretted letting Selvara enter his room.

Selvara took another sip, then said calmly, "You should teach your disciple better."

Arven opened his eyes and glared at her.

Selvara’s faint smile did not disappear. "Like I teach mine."

Arven’s brow twitched hard.

For a moment, the room became painfully silent.

Selvara looked far too pleased with herself, and that made Arven even more irritated.

He had known Selvara for many years, and she was not someone who smiled often, let alone laughed at another person’s misfortune.

Yet today, she looked like she had finally found the best tea in the world.

Arven slowly said, "Are you enjoying this?"

Selvara placed the teacup down with elegant calmness. "Very much."

Arven’s expression darkened. "Selvara."

She looked at him with cold amusement. "What? When I accepted Damian, you looked down on him too. You thought he was useless, shameless, and unworthy of standing beside me."

Arven did not answer.

Selvara’s smile became slightly sharper. "Now look at us. My shameless disciple is improving every day, while your righteous disciple is dragging the Heavenly Sword Sect’s name through the mud."

Arven’s fingers tightened on the armrest.

He wanted to refute her.

Unfortunately, he could not.

Selvara leaned back and said calmly, "How does it feel?"

Arven stared at her coldly. "Did you come all the way here just to mock me?"

Selvara’s smile slowly faded, though the amusement in her eyes did not disappear completely. "No, no, no. I came here to ask you something."

Arven frowned. "Ask me what?"

Selvara’s voice became colder. "What is your plan for this news?"

The atmosphere in the room changed.

Arven’s expression also became serious.

Selvara looked at him without blinking. "Because of Nolan, the sect’s name has been dragged into the dirt. It does not matter if the news is exaggerated or not. The problem is that everyone is already talking."

Arven’s gaze lowered slightly.

Selvara continued, "Minor sects, merchant groups, wandering cultivators, cultivation families, and even other top factions will hear this. The youngest disciple of the Heavenly Sword Sect Master is now tied to courtesan scandals and demonic cultivation rumors."

Her eyes sharpened. "That is not a small matter."

Arven stayed silent for a while before finally saying, "I know."

Selvara looked at him. "Then?"

Arven slowly exhaled. "I will intervene, but I will not directly suppress the news."

Selvara raised an eyebrow.

Arven’s face was cold. "This was Nolan’s fault from the start. The news is too detailed and too ridiculous to be completely fake. If I move too soon, it will only make the sect look guilty."

Selvara nodded faintly. "Reasonable."

Arven continued, "For now, I will investigate the source, confirm how much is true, and control the damage quietly. If I find out who prepared this with full certainty, then I will move."

Selvara stared at him for a moment before finally standing up with a faint nod. "I see. Good then."

Arven frowned slightly as Selvara walked toward the door. For some reason, her current expression made him feel uneasy.

Selvara stopped for a moment and said coldly, "Then you better handle it properly, Sect Master."

Arven’s eyes narrowed.

Selvara’s voice became even colder. "Even if you are the Sect Master, I do not care. To me, the sect is more important than you."

Arven’s body stiffened slightly.

Selvara glanced at him from the corner of her eye. "Rein in your youngest disciple as best as possible."

Her sword Qi flickered faintly.

"Or else..."

Arven swallowed the words he had been about to say.

Selvara did not continue. She simply walked out and disappeared from the room.

Only after she left did Arven slowly lean back in his chair, his face darkening even more. "Damn you, Nolan."

His fingers rubbed his forehead as another deep headache struck him. "Just what did you see in this demon to like her?"
