Chapter 134: Terrible Reputation Saves Damian
On the way back to the Heavenly Sword Sect, Akane suddenly took out a bamboo news scroll from her storage ring.
Damian glanced at her. "What are you reading?"
Akane smiled casually. "Just the latest cultivation news. I bought it from a passing merchant earlier."
Raika looked over slightly but did not say anything, since she did not really care about those kinds of things.
Akane ignored both of them and read the scroll casually, but after a few moments, her eyes slowly widened.
Damian noticed it and raised an eyebrow. "What’s wrong? Why is your face like that?"
Akane ignored him and kept staring at the scroll in disbelief for a few breaths before suddenly bursting out laughing. "Hahaha!"
Damian blinked, narrowing his eyes as he became even more curious. "What the hell? What’s so funny?"
Even Raika looked at her with slight confusion, because Akane rarely laughed that loudly.
Akane wiped the corner of her eye and handed the bamboo scroll to Damian. "Just look at this."
Damian took it curiously, and the moment he read it, his expression also became a bit strange.

---
Damian’s mouth twitched.
"Damn. Elder Vivian, you’re fast."
Most of the first information written there was stuff Damian already knew, but the more he read, the stranger his expression became.
---
[Additional rumors claim that Nolan Veyr, while destroying several demonic cultivator hideouts, secretly collected forbidden dual cultivation methods from those factions.]
[Some surviving testimonies suggest that before killing certain female demonic cultivators, Nolan forced them into dual cultivation to extract their Yin essence and strengthen his own foundation.]
[Although these claims are still being investigated, multiple traces of missing demonic art manuals were found after Nolan’s so-called righteous exterminations.]
---
Damian’s eyes widened, and he reread it again to make sure he had not read it wrong. After confirming it, his scalp went completely numb.
"Damn, damn, damn. What the hell is this? Is this really the truth? Just what the hell is wrong with this Nolan guy?"
Akane leaned closer with a playful smile. "Surprised? After all, this is the Sect Master’s youngest disciple."
Damian’s mouth twitched hard as he looked back at Akane. "Surprised? I’m fucking terrified. Just what’s wrong with this Nolan guy?"
Raika frowned slightly. "If this is true, Nolan is worse than I expected. To think I once looked up to him... what a joke."
Damian nodded seriously. "No wonder that bastard grew so fast. He wasn’t only killing demonic cultivators. He was stealing their methods, using their victims, then pretending to be a pure righteous hero afterward."
Another thought suddenly appeared in Damian’s mind, terrifying him even more.
"Wait... Vivian found even this? How the hell can she even get this kind of information?"
Damian quickly looked around the road, scanning everything he could see.
Akane blinked. "What are you doing?"
Damian lowered his voice. "Nothing. I just want to check if there are people watching us. After all, even Nolan got exposed."
Akane and Raika both raised their eyebrows.
Akane smiled strangely. "But Damian, what do you even have to hide?"
Raika nodded calmly. "Everyone already knows you are a shameless pervert."
Damian froze because he could not refute that at all. "Oh yeah. That’s true. It seems I was thinking about it too much."
Akane laughed.
Raika looked away, but the corner of her mouth moved slightly.
Damian sighed. "Damn. For once, having a terrible reputation is actually useful."

Inside Heavenly Palace, Violetta sat quietly beside a jade table while holding a bamboo news scroll in her hands.
Her eyes moved across the glowing spiritual words again and again. The more she read, the colder her expression became.
Elder Vivian sat across from her, resting her chin lightly on one hand with a faint smile on her lips. "How did I do? Good, right?"
Violetta slowly lowered the news scroll, and after a few moments, she nodded. "Yes... very good."
Her fingers tightened slightly around the scroll. "Also, you are really amazing, Elder. Even information like this... you can still find it."
Vivian smiled elegantly. "Heavenly Palace survives through beauty, art, reputation, and information. If we cannot even dig out one man’s dirty history, then we would not deserve our name."
Violetta looked down at the news scroll again.
The words about Nolan’s hidden courtesan house history and forbidden dual cultivation rumors burned in her eyes.
Her voice became softer, but also colder. "Reading this only makes Nolan even more hateful."
She smiled bitterly. "Just how stupid was I in the past? To think I actually loved someone like him."
Vivian’s smile became gentler. "Do not blame yourself too much."
Violetta looked up.
Vivian said softly, "It only means you were once a pure maiden who knew only pure love. Someone like that should be loved and protected by others."
Violetta lowered her eyes. "But pure maidens are easily harmed and poisoned."
Vivian’s purple eyes flashed with amusement. "Indeed. That is also true."
She leaned forward slightly. "So tell me, Violetta. Do you still want to be a pure maiden, or do you want to become a poisonous maiden?"
Violetta stayed silent for a few breaths before her eyes turned firm. "A poisonous one."
Vivian smiled wider. "Oh?"
Violetta held the scroll tightly. "I am already here in Heavenly Palace. How can I still be a pure maiden?"
Vivian chuckled softly. "Hehe. Good."
Violetta glanced at the scroll again before asking, "Elder... did you forge that symbol I told you about in the news?"
Vivian’s smile did not change. "Of course I did."
Violetta blinked.
Vivian tapped the bamboo scroll gently. "After all, that was the most important piece, right?"
Violetta stared at her for a moment, and for the first time, she grinned faintly. "Yes. That’s right, Elder."
Vivian raised an eyebrow. "Oh, come on. Stop calling me Elder. Just call me Master."
Violetta hesitated. "But I already have a master."
Vivian waved her hand casually. "That brat Damian? He is not truly a proper master, you know."
Violetta’s mouth opened slightly, but she could not fully argue.
Vivian smiled teasingly. "Besides, knowing that a really beautiful woman like me helped you and accepted you as a disciple, Damian will only be happier. After all, he is a pervert."
Violetta lowered her head.
Once again, she could not argue.
That was the truth.
A moment later, she stood up, bowed properly, and said softly, "Your disciple Violetta greets Master Vivian."
Vivian’s smile became bright and satisfied. "Great. Welcome truly to Heavenly Palace, my new disciple, Violetta."
