Chapter 129: Reverse Stupidity Becomes Strategy

After choosing the mission, Damian, Akane, and Raika walked toward the registration counter.

The disciple in charge of recording missions was lazily flipping through a book, but the moment he saw the three of them approaching together, his back immediately straightened.

"Senior Brother Damian. Senior Sister Akane. Senior Sister Raika."

Damian smiled casually and placed the mission slip on the counter. "We want to accept this mission."

The registration disciple lowered his eyes to look.

Then his expression froze. "Garan Blackscar?"

His voice was not loud, but it still caused several nearby disciples to turn their heads.

"What? Someone is taking the Garan Blackscar mission?"

"Isn’t that the Ninth Stage Foundation Establishment rogue cultivator?"

"I heard two inner disciple groups failed to catch him before."

"Not only that. One group was ambushed and badly injured."

Soon, more eyes gathered on Damian’s group.

But after seeing who had accepted the mission, many disciples immediately became stunned.

"Damn... it’s Core Disciple Damian."

"And Senior Sister Akane."

"Senior Sister Raika too."

"One lucky pervert and two genius goddesses of the sect?"

"Shh! Are you crazy? If Senior Sister Raika hears you, you’re dead."

Raika calmly turned her eyes toward the disciple who spoke.

That disciple instantly lowered his head and pretended he had never existed.

Akane covered her mouth and laughed softly. "Lucky pervert, huh?"

Damian’s mouth twitched. "Why did the pervert part come first?"

Raika said flatly, "Because it is accurate."

Damian looked at her. "Can you not agree so fast?"

"No."

The registration disciple coughed lightly and looked at the mission slip again. "Senior Brother Damian, are you sure? This mission is dangerous."

Damian nodded. "Of course. Register it."

The disciple hesitated for a second, then quickly recorded their names.

[Mission Accepted]

[Participants: Damian, Akane, Raika]

[Target: Garan Blackscar]

[Status: Active]

Damian looked at the completed record and smiled. "Good."

Then he leaned slightly closer to the registration disciple. "By the way, give me the latest sect news on this bastard."

The disciple blinked. "Latest news?"

Damian nodded. "His recent sightings, attack locations, habits, enemies, victims, everything. I don’t want to chase him blindly like an idiot."

Raika glanced at him.

For once, her eyes showed a faint trace of approval.

"Not bad," she said.

Damian immediately looked at her with bright eyes. "Was that praise?"

Raika looked away. "Barely."

Akane laughed again.

The registration disciple quickly nodded. "Understood. Please wait a moment. I will bring all the latest information about Garan Blackscar."

After saying that, he hurried into the back room of the Mission Hall.

Damian crossed his arms and waited calmly.

Akane stood beside him with a relaxed smile, while Raika quietly looked at the mission board, her expression as calm as ever.

Not long after, the registration disciple returned with a thin stack of papers and a small jade slip in his hands.

"Senior Brother Damian, Senior Sister Akane, Senior Sister Raika, this is the latest information we have."

Damian reached out and took it. "Good."

The disciple quickly explained, "Garan Blackscar was last seen near Redstone Valley, about two days away from the sect by normal flying sword speed."

Akane raised an eyebrow. "Redstone Valley?"

The disciple nodded. "Yes. Several merchant groups have gone missing there recently. At first, people thought it was demonic beasts, but one survivor claimed he saw a scarred man using black saber Qi."

Raika said calmly, "Garan."

"Most likely," the disciple answered. "He usually attacks small groups, steals resources, then disappears before reinforcement arrives."

Damian looked through the papers. "Cunning, cruel, patient, good at ambushes, and uses poison powder with saber techniques."

He clicked his tongue. "What a complete bastard."

The disciple continued, "There is also one more thing. He seems to have been injured recently."

Damian’s eyes sharpened. "Injured?"

"Yes," the disciple said. "According to the report, he fought another rogue cultivator group over stolen resources. He won, but he likely suffered internal injuries."

Akane smiled faintly. "So this is a good chance."

Raika remained calm. "Or bait."

Damian nodded. "Exactly."

The disciple looked at them seriously. "Please be careful. Garan Blackscar has survived multiple hunts before. He may spread false information to lure disciples out."

Damian grinned. "Good. Then this mission won’t be boring."

Raika glanced at him. "Do not get excited over being ambushed."

Damian looked righteous. "I am excited about gaining experience."

Akane giggled. "Sure."

Damian stored the papers and jade slip in his storage ring.

Then he looked at Akane and Raika. "Ready?"

Akane nodded. "Ready."

Raika said flatly, "Let’s go."

The three of them turned and walked out of the Mission Hall together.

Behind them, many disciples watched their backs with complicated expressions.

Some were jealous.

Some were excited.

Some were curious.

After all, one was Elder Selvara’s strange core disciple, while the other two were famous genius beauties of the sect.

The moment this group moved out, it was impossible not to attract attention.

Damian ignored all those gazes and stepped into the sunlight outside.

He looked toward the distant sect gate, and his smile slowly became sharper.

---

Two days later, Damian, Akane, and Raika finally arrived near Redstone Valley.

The area around them was dry and rocky, with red cliffs rising on both sides and narrow paths twisting between the stones.

It was the perfect place for an ambush.

Akane looked around and frowned slightly. "This place really does look dangerous."

Raika nodded calmly. "Many blind spots. Good for hiding."

Damian smiled. "Then we came to the right place."

They stopped near a small road leading into the valley.

Akane turned toward him. "So, what’s the plan?"

Damian grinned. "Simple. We act like a small merchant group."

Raika looked at him silently.

Akane blinked. "Isn’t that too simple?"

Damian chuckled. "Hehe. That’s exactly why it works."

Raika narrowed her eyes. "Explain."

Damian crossed his arms. "Garan Blackscar is cunning. He expects traps, hunters, and disciples pretending to be clever."

Then his grin widened. "So if we act too normal, he might think no one would be stupid enough to use such an obvious plan."

Akane smiled slowly. "Reverse stupidity?"

Damian pointed at her. "Exactly."

Raika stared at him. "That is still stupidity."

Damian ignored her. "Besides, he’s injured. The faster we lure him out and finish this, the better."

Akane nodded. "Fair."

Raika placed one hand on her sword. "Then let’s begin."

Damian smiled sharply. "Good."
