Chapter 121: Nolan Kicked Wrong Nest
Vivian slowly leaned back in her jade seat and looked at Selvara with a faint smile. "So basically, you want me to handle Nolan?"
Selvara nodded calmly. "Yes."
Vivian’s smile became slightly sharper. "Kill him?"
Selvara said flatly, "No."
Damian glanced at her.
Selvara continued, "Do not kill him. At least not yet."
Vivian raised an eyebrow.
Selvara’s eyes remained cold. "But make his life worse."
For a second, the room became quiet.
Then Vivian suddenly grinned elegantly, but for some reason, Damian felt that smile was extremely dangerous.
"Damn. Women from top factions are really scary when they smile like that."
Vivian turned her gaze toward one of the palace women standing near the door. "Find out if we have any information about Nolan."
The woman immediately bowed. "Yes, Elder."
Vivian looked back at Selvara. "What is his full name?"
Selvara said calmly, "Nolan Veyr."
Damian blinked slightly.
"Veyr? Wait, wasn’t Loren also Veyr?"
However, he did not say anything for now.
The palace woman quickly left the room.
Damian originally thought they would have to wait for a while.
But less than half an incense stick later, the same woman returned with a jade folder in her hands.
She bowed respectfully and handed it to Vivian. "Elder, this is the file we have on Nolan Veyr."
Damian’s eyes widened a little. "Wow. That fast?"
Vivian smiled proudly. "Of course."
Damian clicked his tongue. "As expected of a top faction."
Vivian calmly opened the jade folder. "If not for our overall combat strength being slightly lower, our status and fame would absolutely be above the Heavenly Sword Sect."
Damian instinctively looked at Selvara.
Selvara looked back at him, then nodded once.
Damian’s expression became serious.
"Damn. Even Master acknowledges it."
Vivian lowered her gaze and began reading through the file. "Now then, let us see what kind of person this Nolan Veyr is."
The room became quiet.
Only the faint sound of pages turning could be heard.
Vivian’s expression remained calm at first.
Then, after reading for a while, her brows slowly lifted. "Hm?"
Damian leaned forward slightly. "What is it?"
Vivian did not answer immediately.
Instead, she continued reading.
A few breaths later, her mouth twitched. "Damn. Is this really his file?"
Selvara looked at her. "What does it say?"
Vivian narrowed her eyes. "According to this, Nolan Veyr is almost like a child of luck."
Damian’s face became strange.
Vivian continued, "Born from tragedy. Family destroyed. Loved ones died. Survived countless assassinations. Escaped poison, beasts, betrayal, and several life-and-death disasters."
She flipped another page.
"Then he somehow found hidden inheritances, rare treasures, powerful cultivation resources, and several opportunities that should have been impossible for someone of his background."
Damian’s mouth twitched.
"Of course. After all, he is the protagonist."
Vivian kept reading. "He also destroyed several evil branch bases, saved disciples from danger, exposed spies, and gained the Sect Master’s appreciation."
She paused.
Then she looked up with a strange expression. "If I only read this part, he really does look like a righteous child of luck."
Selvara’s expression remained cold.
Damian shrugged. "Yeah. Sounds very heroic."
Vivian glanced at him. "You do not sound impressed."
Damian spread his hands. "I have seen enough so-called righteous people to know that a beautiful record does not always mean a beautiful person."
Vivian smiled faintly. "That is true."
Then she continued reading.
However, a moment later, her eyes suddenly stopped.
Her smile slowly disappeared. "Wait a minute."
Damian blinked. "What now?"
Vivian’s gaze moved across the page again.
Then her purple eyes narrowed sharply. "What the hell?"
Selvara looked at her. "What did you find?"
Vivian’s voice became colder. "To think that bastard is actually this lecherous."
Damian’s expression froze. "Lecherous?"
Vivian nodded. "According to our information, before entering the Heavenly Sword Sect, Nolan frequently visited courtesan houses."
Violetta’s fingers tightened around her flute.
Vivian’s eyes grew colder as she continued, "Not once or twice. Many times. Almost every few days, he would visit different pleasure houses under different names."
Damian was genuinely surprised. "Wow."
Then his face became strange.
"Wait. Isn’t this bastard supposed to be a righteous protagonist? Why is he acting like a corrupted young master?"
Vivian flipped another page, and her expression became even more disgusted. "And he did not only listen to music or drink wine. He also did the deed with several courtesans."
The room became silent.
Selvara’s eyes turned sharp.
Damian slowly looked at Violetta.
Vivian also looked at her and asked gently, "Violetta, did he ever do that with you?"
Violetta shook her head softly. "No."
Vivian’s expression eased slightly.
Violetta lowered her eyes and continued, "Although Nolan was somewhat strong and famous back then, he still could not touch me like that."
Damian blinked.
Violetta held her flute closer and said quietly, "I was a top courtesan. My purity was part of my value. It was not something that could be given casually."
Vivian nodded immediately. "Thank goodness."
Then her eyes became firm. "Indeed, for a courtesan, purity is not only about the body. It is reputation, bargaining power, protection, and future value."
Damian scratched his cheek.
He wanted to make a joke, but after seeing Vivian and Selvara’s faces, he wisely swallowed it back.
"Not the right time. Definitely not the right time."
Vivian looked at the file again, and her smile became cold. "Interesting."
Selvara asked, "Can this be used?"
Vivian chuckled softly. "Of course."
Damian raised an eyebrow. "Really?"
Vivian looked at him. "A righteous genius disciple secretly visiting courtesan houses under fake names? Sleeping around while pretending to be pure and noble? Looking down on women like Violetta while enjoying the same world behind closed doors?"
Her smile became sweeter. "That kind of hypocrisy is very useful."
Damian slowly nodded. "Damn. You’re good."
Vivian smiled. "Heavenly Palace survives through beauty, art, information, and reputation. If we cannot even use a man’s dirty habits against him, then we are not worthy of being called a top faction."
Selvara’s eyes remained calm, but there was a faint satisfaction in them. "Good."
Vivian closed the jade folder with a soft tap.
TAP!
Then she looked toward the palace woman beside her. "Dig deeper. I want names, dates, locations, witnesses, payment records, and every courtesan house he visited."
The palace woman bowed. "Yes, Elder."
Vivian’s purple eyes flashed coldly. "If Nolan Veyr wants to act like a righteous hero, then let us see how righteous he really is."
Damian leaned back slightly.
"Damn. Nolan, you really kicked the wrong nest this time."
Violetta stayed quiet, but the hand holding her flute slowly relaxed.
