Chapter 120: Beauty Is Qualification Here

After passing through the glowing white-jade bridge, Damian, Selvara, and Violetta finally arrived inside Heavenly Palace.

The moment Damian stepped down from the flying sword, a faint musical fragrance drifted through the air.

Yes.

Somehow, even the air here felt like music.

Wide marble halls stretched in every direction. Flowing curtains hung from tall pillars, golden bells chimed softly in the wind, and gentle melodies echoed from somewhere deeper inside the palace.

Damian looked around and silently nodded.

"Damn. This place really knows how to show off."

Elder Vivian led them into a quiet inner hall.

The room was elegant but not overly flashy. There were soft carpets, carved jade seats, floating lamps, and several musical instruments placed carefully along the walls.

After everyone sat down, Vivian smiled and waved her hand lightly.

A faint barrier appeared around the room.

Then she looked at Selvara and said, "Okay, Selvara. You can talk freely here."

Selvara nodded calmly. "I want to let my grand-disciple, Violetta, join your Heavenly Palace."

Vivian raised an eyebrow. "Join our faction?"

Her purple eyes moved toward Violetta with curiosity. "Why? Is the Heavenly Sword Sect not good enough?"

Selvara said flatly, "It is good enough for sword cultivators."

Vivian understood immediately. "And this girl is not a sword cultivator?"

Selvara nodded. "Violetta walks a song-based cultivation path. Her cultivation art, Qi control, and future direction are all related to music."

Vivian looked at Violetta again, and her eyes became more interested. "I see."

Then she smiled faintly. "But I wonder, why is she your grand-disciple in the first place?"

Selvara glanced at Damian. "Because Violetta is my disciple’s disciple."

Damian smiled politely.

Selvara continued, "So when I accepted Damian, I also brought his disciples with him as a package."

Vivian stared at Selvara for a moment before chuckling softly. "A package? That sounds very unlike you."

Selvara’s expression did not change. "It happened."

Vivian smiled, then turned toward Violetta. "Violetta, is it?"

Violetta immediately straightened and cupped her hands. "Yes, Elder Vivian."

Vivian asked gently, "Do you want to join my faction?"

Violetta nodded with a serious expression. "Yes, Elder Vivian. I hope I can join Heavenly Palace."

Vivian smiled. "No problem. From today onward, you can stay under me."

The room became quiet for a second.

Damian blinked. "That’s it?"

Vivian looked at him with amusement. "What?"

Damian’s mouth twitched. "I mean... that’s easy."

Vivian chuckled softly. "Of course it is."

She looked at Violetta again and said calmly, "She has top-tier beauty. For Heavenly Palace, that alone is already enough to give her a chance."

Violetta’s face became slightly red.

Vivian continued, "And since she is Selvara’s grand-disciple, she must be quite gifted. Otherwise, Selvara would not personally bring her here."

Selvara nodded faintly. "That is true."

Vivian smiled. "Then I do not need to test her anymore."

Damian rubbed his chin.

"So beauty is qualification here? Damn. This faction is really honest."

Selvara glanced at him. "Do not say whatever you are thinking."

Damian immediately looked righteous. "Master, I said nothing."

Vivian watched them with a faint smile, but after a moment, her gaze returned to Selvara.

"Still," Vivian said slowly, "if that is the only reason, you would not come here personally."

Selvara’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Vivian’s smile became calmer. "You are not the kind of person who visits other factions just to deliver a disciple. Tell me the real reason."

The room became silent.

Violetta lowered her head slightly.

Damian also stopped joking.

After a few breaths, Selvara finally spoke. "There is another reason."

Vivian’s expression became serious. "Go on."

Selvara looked at Violetta for a moment, then said calmly, "Someone dangerous to her has appeared inside the Heavenly Sword Sect."

Vivian’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Selvara continued, "And for now, Heavenly Palace is safer for her than staying beside me."

Vivian’s expression changed slightly. "Someone dangerous?"

Her calm purple eyes narrowed. "If someone is dangerous to your grand-disciple, why didn’t you kill him?"

Damian’s mouth twitched.

"Damn. Heavenly Palace elders are also direct, huh?"

Selvara said calmly, "Because that dangerous person is the Sect Master’s disciple."

Vivian paused.

For the first time, confusion appeared on her face. "The Sect Master’s disciple?"

Selvara nodded.

Vivian looked at Violetta, then at Damian. "Explain."

Damian sighed and stepped forward slightly. "Basically, it’s like this..."

He quickly told the story about Violetta’s past.

Of course, since Damian was the one telling it, he naturally exaggerated every part that deserved to be exaggerated.

He spoke about how Violetta had trusted Nolan.

How her family was targeted because of him.

How she begged for help, only for Nolan to leave her behind.

How her family died.

How Nolan later blamed her, crippled her spiritual root, broke one of her legs, and still acted like sparing her life was some kind of mercy.

Then Damian also added what happened a few days ago, including Nolan recognizing him, insulting him in front of Selvara, and the way he looked down on Violetta’s past.

By the time Damian finished speaking, the atmosphere inside the room had become cold.

Vivian’s gentle smile was gone.

Her purple eyes carried a dangerous light. "Nolan, huh..."

She looked at Violetta, and her voice became softer. "That bastard really dared to do that?"

Violetta lowered her head slightly.

Vivian’s eyes became even colder. "To think he dared to hurt Violetta, my beautiful darling."

Damian blinked. "Beautiful darling?"

Vivian looked at him as if it was obvious. "Of course. She has already joined Heavenly Palace under me. That makes her one of mine."

Then she smiled faintly, but the smile did not reach her eyes. "And as for that Nolan... from what you said, it seems he also looks down on women like us, doesn’t he?"

Damian rubbed his chin. "Well, judging from his attitude, probably."

Vivian chuckled softly.

For some reason, that gentle laugh made Damian’s back feel a little cold.

"If I ever meet him..." Vivian’s smile became even sweeter. "Hehehe."

Damian stared at her for a moment before silently taking half a step back.

"Damn. It seems Nolan won’t have a good time in the future."

Then he thought about Nolan’s classic protagonist aura and frowned slightly.

"But he’s still a protagonist-type bastard... Hmm. Forget it for now."

Meanwhile, far away in the Heavenly Sword Sect, Nolan suddenly sneezed inside his courtyard.

"Achoo!"

He frowned and looked around.

For some reason, he suddenly felt a strange chill running down his back.

Nolan narrowed his eyes. "Damian..."

He naturally blamed Damian first.

After all, if Damian was still in the Heavenly Sword Sect, and still beside Selvara, then Nolan knew he would not be able to stay at peace.
