Chapter 111: Protagonist Brain Activates

Damian looked at Nolan for a moment, then slowly raised an eyebrow. "Why are you so hostile toward me? Do I know you?"

The hall became even quieter.

Selvara also frowned slightly and turned her cold gaze toward Nolan. "Nolan, what did you mean by those words?"

Only then did Nolan seem to realize that his tone had gone too far.

He quickly cupped his hands toward Selvara. "Elder Selvara, forgive me. I did not mean to be disrespectful."

Selvara’s expression did not soften. "Then explain."

Nolan glanced at Damian again, and his eyes still carried clear suspicion. "It is just that I know this person."

Damian blinked.

Arven also looked surprised. "You know Damian?"

Nolan nodded. "Yes, Master. He is from the same city as me."

The moment those words came out, all three of them were stunned.

Damian’s expression became strange.

"Same city? Wait... then he doesn’t know me. He knows the previous owner of this body."

And when Damian thought about the original Damian’s reputation, he immediately understood why Nolan reacted that way.

After all, the previous owner of this body had been arrogant, weak, lustful, and famous for wasting money just to impress beautiful women.

In other words, he was the kind of trash people would naturally remember in a bad way.

Damian sighed inwardly.

"No wonder this protagonist looked at me like I killed his dog."

Damian looked at Nolan and nodded calmly. "I see. No wonder you are hostile."

Nolan’s eyes narrowed.

Damian continued, "But don’t worry, Disciple Nolan. People can change. The Damian you knew before and the Damian standing here now are not exactly the same."

His smile became faint. "And that is why I can stand here as Master’s disciple."

Nolan’s face darkened. "Change?"

His voice became colder. "How can someone like you change so easily? A lecherous, low-life, weak cultivator suddenly became Elder Selvara’s disciple? Do you expect me to believe that?"

The atmosphere instantly turned heavy.

Selvara’s eyes became sharp. "Nolan."

Nolan frowned, but he did not back down.

Selvara spoke coldly. "You better take back your words."

Nolan looked at her in disbelief. "Elder Selvara, what I said is the truth. This person was never worthy of becoming your disciple."

Damian slowly closed his eyes and sighed.

"Damn. He really is a protagonist with a dumb brain."

Even Arven’s smile had faded by now.

Selvara looked at Damian, then turned away. "Let’s go back."

Damian nodded. "Yes, Master."

Selvara glanced at Arven. "Sorry, Sect Master. It seems this meeting is pointless."

After saying that, she walked out of the hall.

Damian followed behind her without another word.

Behind them, Nolan stood in place, his fists clenched, while the hall fell into an awkward silence.

---

After Selvara and Damian left, the main hall became strangely quiet.

Arven sat in his seat and stared at Nolan for a long moment.

The smile that had been on his face earlier was completely gone.

Finally, he opened his mouth. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

Nolan froze slightly. "Master?"

Arven frowned. "Do you not know Elder Selvara’s attitude? Once she accepts someone as her disciple, that person is hers. You questioned her disciple right in front of her. Are you trying to offend her on purpose?"

Nolan lowered his head slightly, but his expression remained stubborn. "Master, what I said was right."

Arven’s eyes narrowed. "Right?"

Nolan clenched his fists. "That bastard Damian was famous in my hometown. He was arrogant, lustful, weak, and shameless. He wasted spirit stones chasing women and looked down on people weaker than him. Someone like that cannot change so easily."

Arven sighed and rubbed his forehead. "Look at the matter properly, will you?"

Nolan looked up.

Arven continued, "If he was able to become Selvara’s disciple, that alone means he has already changed in some way. Do you think Selvara is blind?"

Nolan went silent for a moment.

He knew Elder Selvara’s reputation.

She was cold, merciless, and extremely strict.

She was not the type to casually accept a disciple just because someone begged nicely.

After thinking about it a little, Nolan understood that there had to be a reason behind Damian’s current position.

But as expected of someone walking the righteous protagonist path, understanding it did not mean he accepted it.

His eyes suddenly flashed as he remembered something. "Master, did this Damian obtain Elder Selvara’s token?"

Arven’s expression changed slightly. "How do you know that?"

Seeing his master’s reaction, Nolan’s eyes became sharper. "So it’s true."

Arven frowned. "Nolan."

Nolan stepped forward and said seriously, "Master, then we need to kick him out."

Arven’s face turned truly angry this time. "How dare you say that?"

Nolan did not back down. "Master, believe me. Damian is not someone worthy of trust. He must have used that token to force Elder Selvara to accept him."

Arven said coldly, "I know about the token."

Nolan paused.

Arven’s voice became heavier. "But Elder Selvara is someone who will not go back on a promise. No matter how that token reached Damian, she accepted him. That means the matter is settled."

Nolan’s expression darkened.

Then, after a moment, he suddenly grinned faintly. "Don’t worry, Master. I will take care of that."

Arven’s eyes sharpened. "Nolan."

Nolan cupped his hands. "I understand. I will not act recklessly."

Arven stared at him for a long time before finally sighing.

Nolan was still his youngest disciple, and his talent was undeniable. He had survived too much, fought too much, and carried too much hatred in his heart.

That made him strong.

But it also made him stubborn.

Arven said slowly, "Remember this. Do not make Selvara even angrier, and do not create problems with Damian for the moment."

Nolan lowered his head. "Yes, Master."

But the cold light in his eyes did not disappear.

"How dare that bastard steal Elder Selvara’s attention from me?"

His fingers slowly clenched.

He would not let anyone take what he had already set his eyes on.
