Chapter 48: Cut In Line

At the express line, many students were busy flaunting their background, clothes, or skills.

"You’re from a Baron household? That’s so amazing!"

"Haha, it’s nothing much. Just a Baron rank."

"A Viscount is still higher than I. I’m only from Banneret."

To those unaware, a Banneret was basically a senior knight who was considered more important than regular knights, but not really considered a true member of nobility.

On the other hand, a Baron was the real noble rank, albeit the lowest possible.

’These people can’t be serious, right?’ Ray was ashamed of the two nearby conversations. This was the express line for noble ranks, at least on the level of a Castellan.

Now, don’t be mistaken by the noble rank of Castellan and the academy Crestellan.

The two sounded similar and looked very alike, but they were two different words.

A Castellan was basically a noble rank above the Baron, but beneath that of a Marquis.

While Ray was disgusted by their shameless conversation, Belva’s mood had also sunk. Her disgust was even more visible and intense than Ray’s.

"Young Master, do you want the express line to be faster?" She glanced at him and inquired.

"Let me guess... You want to beat those two pretentious bitches up?" Ray wasn’t slow to understand her intention. If he wanted to beat them up, then surely Belva would want to when considering her sadistic personality.

Sure enough, Belva nodded with a stern expression.

"Beat them up real good. Otherwise, don’t you dare come back to me." He gestured with his finger, essentially giving her permission to wreak havoc.

Yes, he was also a biased bastard.

Since Belva was his people, he definitely would indulge her in such a trivial matter.

"You’re really letting your maid beat a student up?" Only Samantha was in utter shock at their conversation.

"Do you want to join in as well?" Ray raised an eyebrow and glanced at her in amazement. "Go ahead if you want to join."

Samantha quickly shook her head in response. She was already in shambles for bumping into him. If she really started another fight with a fellow student, who knows what other trouble and mess she would receive?

"If you’re not joining, then keep your mouth shut." He rolled his eyes and focused on Belva.

He was also curious about how Belva would fight against students.

It must have been some nostalgia for her since she used to be a student too.

"Who are you?"

"How dare you use violence in the express line!"

The two obnoxious students were in an uproar when Belva suddenly went after them and gave them a massive beating. They had thought a woman was interested in them, but that was just their pipe dream.

"Someone stop this lunatic!" The Castellan’s student cried aloud. He was beaten black and blue, his eyes resembling those of a panda.

Despite his cries, the nearby students didn’t step in to help.

They were somewhat frightened by Belva’s expression. Moreover, she was dressed as a maid, which meant that she was acting on behalf of someone’s order.

Since that was the case, it was better to keep their hands clean.

However, what truly made them remain in position was that the people in charge of registering didn’t even flinch or react to the situation.

"Next in line, please." The people in charge of registering called out with a nonchalant tone.

When the rest were still distracted by the fight, Ray took the chance to skip the entire line.

By the time he reached the front, the student who should have been next realized they had just been skipped.

"Hey, I’m next in line." They yelled out.

"Really? But you were slow like a snail."

Ray snickered and continued his registration.

"You!"

Before the student could continue their dumb dialogue, Ray called out.

"Another one here who wants a beating!" He pointed at them without even batting an eye at who they were.

"Huh?"

Needless to say, the student was dumbfounded. They wanted to comprehend the situation, but it didn’t take long.

Belva, who was already pummeling two people, flashed a devious grin. She was already bored with these two wastes anyway, so Ray’s calling was like a quench to her thirst.

In the blink of an eye, Belva appeared behind the student and whispered.

"Hello~"

"Oh..." The student’s back was soaked in sweat as they closed their eyes.

They didn’t even bother resisting because they had seen the student from Castellan get beaten up the hardest for resisting.

WHAM!

WHACK!

BAM!

"Does anyone else have any problems?" Ray yawned and asked.

"I was here first, so please don’t try to cut in line. Only villains like those three cut in line and get beaten up."

"..."

The word shameless was put to shame when faced with Ray.

"What? You disagreed?" He could sense their disagreement and clarify.

"Belva—"

"We agreed, Sir!"

"Yeah, you were clearly first in line!"

"Mhmm, I can’t believe someone would try to cut in line here. This is the express line for nobles, and not for the unruly commoners."

"She’s with me and is a commoner." Ray suddenly said and pointed at Samantha.

Instantly, the student who made that last statement corrected themselves. "I mean, this express line is for law-abiding nobles and commoners. Don’t be like those three law-breaking students."

"Haha..." Samantha was rendered speechless by this student’s quick change of behavior.

Soon, the students cleared the path for Samantha to walk forward to complete her registration.

It was just a registration anyway.

There was no need to fight or argue over it if the consequences were getting a beating.

Maybe they would have resisted if someone from the academy had intervened.

’The registration lines are just an indicator to see which students are worthy. I’m sure they are watching our actions right at this moment and evaluating us.’ Ray sneered inwardly.

And sure enough, above the skies, there were mini drones hovering and relaying everything that was happening to another large screen.
