Chapter 256: Chapter 253 Belongs to One Person

Watching her operation, Zhang Hao also became puzzled.

He had no idea what she was doing, but as a doctor, he didn’t need to understand what the patient wanted to do.

After turning off the toy, the female patient lay down on the bed to calm down.

"Mr. Zhang, could you please help me take it out?" she asked.

The female patient spread her legs again, even wider this time than before.

It was unclear whether it was intentional or not.

Seeing that Zhang Hao remained unmoved, the patient couldn’t help but urge him again, "Mr. Zhang, you don’t plan on letting that little toy stay inside me, do you?"

"Otherwise, I’d really have to go to surgery and have another doctor help me remove it."

Zhang Hao rose from the sickbed and approached the female patient.

"So soon?"

Just four words, very brief, taking less than a second to say.

It took the female patient a few seconds to react.

In response, she squeezed her legs together and lay down again.

"It seems Mr. Zhang doesn’t have a very good memory," she said. "I told you, every month, the week before my period, I get especially aroused."

"At other times, I wouldn’t have such thoughts, so that area becomes extremely sensitive."

"Just a tiny bit of stimulation is enough to please me."

It had been only a few minutes since she inserted the toy before it could be removed.

The degree of sensitivity indeed correlated with frequency.

Zhang Hao simply believed what she said.

"You should rest well. Once you’re home, you can do whatever you like, but in the hospital, you should still be mindful of the impact," he said.

Wearing a serious expression, Zhang Hao helped her remove the toy from inside her.

When inserted, her area was already brimming with moisture.

Now it was a veritable wetland!

"Mr. Zhang, could you do me another favor and clean it for me?" she requested.

Having come this far, helping a little more seemed to pose no issue.

"Alright, but just this once, and never again," he acquiesced.

He took a tissue to wrap the toy, the slight wet marks saturating the tissue instantly.

That was indeed an extraordinary amount of moisture.

Arriving at the wash basin in the bathroom, he turned on the tap and rinsed the toy under the water.

Worried it wouldn’t be clean enough, he even applied some hand soap.

After thoroughly washing off the lather, Zhang Hao dried it with some paper towels before returning it.

The female patient smiled happily upon regaining her toy.

"Mr. Zhang, given my current recovery, when is the earliest I can be discharged?" she inquired.

Zhang Hao, with downcast eyes, took a long while before responding.

"That depends on the examination results; I can’t say for sure right now," he replied.

With a smile on her face, the patient’s lips curled into a constant, slight grin.

"I thought Mr. Zhang would say I could be discharged tomorrow," she commented.

Indeed, that was what Zhang Hao wanted to say, but it didn’t quite fit his professional role.

A doctor should be more professional, after all.

"You should get some rest," he suggested.

Zhang Hao turned off the light for her and closed the door. Quietness descended in the ward all at once.

But the female patient didn’t feel sleepy at all. Luckily, it was just one broken arm; she couldn’t even fathom how to get through the days if she had broken both.

Zhang Hao was alone on duty in the office, unaware if any emergency patients might come in tonight.

Therefore, Zhang Hao did not dare to take advantage of the emptiness and rest his head on the table.

To pass the time, he took out the medical records of patients he had seen before and looked through them.

In fact, every patient who came to him didn’t have a serious problem.

But for the patients themselves, any minor illness felt like a mountain weighing down on them.

To Zhang Hao, as long as he could send the patients home happy, it didn’t matter if he felt tired or overworked.

Perhaps Lady Luck had visited, for tonight neither the Traditional Chinese Medicine department nor the surgical clinic received any emergency cases.

After finishing the night shift, it was still customary for Zhang Hao to make his rounds before leaving work.

The female patient from last night had asked when she would be able to be discharged, to ascertain the recovery status of her injury.

Zhang Hao wrote her a check-up form and had her family take her to the hospital for another round of comprehensive examinations.

If her arm healed well, she could be taken home to recuperate and wouldn’t have to stay in the hospital.

The hospital wasn’t necessarily the safest place, after all.

After finishing his rounds, Zhang Hao changed his clothes, and Lin Wan and Qin Miaoke, who had just arrived for work, stopped him for a chat as he prepared to leave.

"You’ve worked hard, Mr. Zhang."

"It wasn’t hard work, serving the people. You guys work hard, I’m going now."

Qin Miaoke did not say much; she greeted him and then organized her work tasks.

Lin Wan felt uneasy inside. After pondering overnight, she felt that her words from yesterday had been impulsive and thoughtless.

She wanted to find an opportunity to apologize to Zhang Hao, so he wouldn’t feel distant because of what she said yesterday.

She hoped their relationship could remain as before, as friends who could talk about anything.

But Zhang Hao seemed to avoid her, not even speaking a word to her.

Could it be that he was intentionally distancing himself from her?

"Lin Wan, what are you doing? Are you not in a good mood?" Qin Miaoke suddenly asked as she came over.

"I’m fine."

As she spoke the untruth, Lin Wan still worked diligently and with a grave attitude when it was time to work.

When Zhang Hao got home, he saw that He Qianhui was also there.

Surprised, he asked if she was off work today.

However, He Qianhui replied that she had a flight in the afternoon to go on a business trip to the south.

If things went quickly, she would return in three to five days, but if it took longer, it could be seven to eight days.

This period seemed somewhat lengthy to Zhang Hao.

"Do you need help packing your luggage?"

He Qianhui shook her head, "You just got off work, better rest up."

While she neatly folded clothes from the wardrobe and placed them in the suitcase, she made sure not to forget packing several sets of personal garments.

The two large drawers at the bottom of the wardrobe contained their respective undergarments.

There were also items meant for flirtation, all of which Zhang Hao had bought on a whim.

However, they had remained unused for a long time, some even unopened in their packaging.

"What kind of person is the client you’re facing this time?"

"I’m not sure, but another person from the company worked with them for two months without closing a deal."

"I think it must be a tough one to handle, but don’t worry, no matter how tough a nut to crack, it won’t be a problem once it gets to me."

Zhang Hao stood up, approached her gently, and said, "I don’t know how tough the nut is, but we need to set some ground rules."

"You’re going on a business trip for work, but you must take care of yourself and not let any sleazy people bully you."

He Qianhui smiled happily, "I’m not some fresh-out-of-college girl, I know what men think."

"Rest assured, I will protect myself; that place belongs to you alone."
