Chapter 210: Chapter 207: The Little Sidekick

He quickly took half a day off and followed Zhang Hao, seeing him enter a high-end residential complex.

Lin Wan hurriedly caught up with him, "Zhang Hao."

As soon as Zhang Hao turned around and saw Lin Wan, he was puzzled as to why she wasn’t at work.

"I took half a day off for you. Anyway, there are other nurses in the department. One more or one less, they can handle it."

She followed Zhang Hao to his new home, which indeed needed cleaning.

Seeing this, Lin Wan was ready to roll up her sleeves and start working.

But at that moment, Zhang Hao stopped her, not letting her do it.

"I said you don’t have to. Wait a bit, the cleaning service is coming."

Speak of the devil, and he shall appear; the cleaning crew arrived, and after discussing the price for the size of the room, they began to work.

They naturally didn’t need to worry about the cleaning.

But there were things that had been moved that needed washing and putting away.

"Where are your clothes? Let me help you sort them out," she said.

Zhang Hao casually replied, "They’re all in the boxes in the bedroom. You can sort them out. I’ll fix this lamp here."

No sooner had he finished speaking than Zhang Hao regretted it. The box didn’t just contain his clothes, but also He Qianhui’s.

Lin Wan was very efficient. She walked into the bedroom, opened the box, and the first thing she saw was a flesh-colored undergarment.

This petrified her on the spot, and she thought she had seen wrong, so she closed the lid again.

Thinking maybe, like in the movies, if she opened the lid again the underwear might disappear.

But there is no magic in the real world. When she opened the lid again, the underwear was still there.

Below the undergarment were Zhang Hao’s clothes, but beneath a few pieces of clothing, there were skirts and panties and the like.

Lin Wan suddenly didn’t know what to do, and Zhang Hao had just finished fixing the light.

He came over, saw it, and said with a smile, "I’d better take care of these myself."

Lin Wan hurriedly put the clothes back into the box, "I didn’t mean to do it. Do you have some other kind of fetish? Nowadays, it’s trendy for men to wear women’s clothes, are you...?"

Zhang Hao quickly covered her mouth, "Lin Wan, your imagination really is rich. How could I possibly be that kind of person?"

"To tell you the truth, I’m not living here alone; there’s someone else staying in the small bedroom."

"Who is it?" Lin Wan asked curiously.

"Who it is, I can’t tell you. That’s my secret," Zhang Hao refused to divulge.

"So that means I can’t just come over to your place to find you," Lin Wan asked tentatively.

Zhang Hao nodded.

"So, you’re keeping a beauty in the golden house, huh? I was thinking, why would you move for no reason, and you didn’t tell me earlier, did you think I would be angry?"

Zhang Hao didn’t think Lin Wan would be angry about this because their relationship was limited to being coworkers.

They were neither lovers nor sweethearts, so whether he was living with someone or informing Lin Wan didn’t seem that necessary.

"Why are you giving me that look? You know you did something wrong, don’t you?"

"But who you live with has nothing to do with me, as long as it doesn’t interfere when I need to find you. I’ll go outside and have a look, you deal with these clothes."

After much of the day, the room was finally in order, at least it looked like a home.

Lin Wan left before it got dark, and as soon as she was gone, He Qianhui returned.

When she entered, she was still panting, while Zhang Hao came out of the kitchen wearing an apron.

"What happened, don’t we have an elevator? Did you climb the stairs? Is the elevator broken?"

He Qianhui waved her hands repeatedly, "Do you have any water? I’m dying of thirst."

Zhang Hao hurriedly took a bottle of mineral water from the fridge, unscrewed it, and handed it to her.

After guzzling down most of the bottle, she said, "I forgot we moved; I even ran all the way to the old place."

"When I used my key to open the door, I saw the place was empty, and then I remembered we moved here."

"I walked around this complex for quite a while before I found this building," she said.

Zhang Hao laughed at her clumsiness and said, "Then why didn’t you call me?"

"I forgot. I thought you were still at work today and didn’t want to bother you."

"Take a rest. In a few minutes, we’ll be able to eat."

He cooked several dishes, steamed some rice, and lastly, Zhang Hao made a meatball and vermicelli soup.

The two of them had a simple meal, and then He Qianhui finally took the time to look at the layout of the entire apartment.

"You moved all my stuff over here."

"Of course, this is going to be our new home now, and I also found out the landlord is planning to sell it."

"I think if we live here for a while, we might be able to build a good relationship with the landlord and buy it later at a price lower than the market value."

"That way, when we have kids, the space in this house will be big enough."

As soon as Zhang Hao mentioned kids, He Qianhui shyly lowered her head, "Who said I’d have kids for you? If I’d known this was what you were thinking, I wouldn’t have agreed to move here."

She said she wouldn’t agree, but the smile on her face couldn’t be suppressed.

That night, the two of them became intimate three times, in the living room, bedroom, and bathroom, respectively.

In the end, Zhang Hao could hardly straighten his back.

But He Qianhui didn’t feel tired at all and even seemed a little unsatisfied.

If it weren’t for the fact that she had to go on a business trip the next day, she would have wanted another round in the kitchen.

The local Chinese medicine competition was fast approaching.

Zhang Hao didn’t have much time left.

In addition to being busy with other things these days, he didn’t have extra time to read.

With only three days left, he decided to cram intensively. As the saying goes, it’s never too late to sharpen your weapons before battle.

Three days later, Zhang Hao went to the competition to represent his company’s interests.

It was only when he arrived at the competition that he discovered Qin Miaoke was also there.

"Zhang Hao. Look here."

He was puzzled and surprised to see Qin Miaoke.

Why was she here?

Qin Miaoke, with a large backpack, came up to Zhang Hao.

She whispered, "I’m here to help you, no need to thank me."

Qin Miaoke was dressed very sunnily today, in a white short-sleeved shirt and a peach-pink miniskirt.

Her slender, well-proportioned legs, coupled with a pair of women’s sneakers, made her look like a cheerleader.

"You’re here to help, but with what exactly?" Zhang Hao asked.

"To be your assistant, of course. Did you think you’d get a backdoor entry?"

With that comment from Qin Miaoke, Zhang Hao realized he had said too much.

"When I become a famous and formidable doctor one day, I’ll let you use that backdoor. For now, you’re just a little assistant, and everything depends on your own effort, so go for it." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Even if she hadn’t mentioned it, Zhang Hao knew.

Given her reputation in the Chinese medicine community, she definitely couldn’t help him much.

But her presence was something appreciable.

"Alright, then you’ll be my assistant later. I don’t lack anything else, I just need an assistant," he said.

Qin Miaoke grimaced, not liking Zhang Hao’s way of putting it.

But with her current skills, she indeed couldn’t count herself as a Chinese medicine practitioner, although being an assistant was more than manageable for her.
