Chapter 734: Chapter 735: Trip to America

After leaving, Lin Kuang and Lin Guo’er drove to the East Sea Airport and boarded a direct flight to New York.

"You should get some sleep," Lin Kuang said with a smile, looking at Lin Guo’er beside him. "We still have several hours before we get to New York."

"Alright, I’ll rest for a bit. I’m really getting tired," Lin Guo’er said with a yawn.

Hearing this, Lin Kuang nodded. Lin Guo’er then leaned her head against his shoulder and closed her eyes to rest.

Lin Kuang sat quietly, waiting for the plane to land. Several hours later, the plane touched down. Lin Kuang woke Lin Guo’er, and the two of them followed the crowd off the plane and out of the airport.

Gazing at the New York sky, a slight smile touched Lin Kuang’s lips. It’s been a long time since I was last here.

"Come on, let’s head to the company," Lin Kuang said to Lin Guo’er with a smile.

"Not so fast. Someone is coming to pick us up," Lin Guo’er said with a smile.

Sure enough, just as she finished speaking, a black Mercedes business sedan pulled up in front of them. A beautiful woman who looked to be about thirty years old stepped out of the car. She exuded a mature, captivating charm.

"Manager Lin, my apologies. I was held up by a few things, so I had to rush over," the woman said apologetically as she walked up to Lin Guo’er.

Lin Guo’er shook her head and smiled. "President Song, you’re being too formal. We only just arrived ourselves."

"Alright then, let’s get in the car. We can talk more once we’re back at the company," Song Yao said. Her mature smile held a unique charm. She was the type of woman men found absolutely irresistible.

"Okay, let’s get in," Lin Guo’er replied with a smile, and the three of them got into the car.

Once inside, Lin Guo’er introduced Lin Kuang and Song Yao. They shook hands and exchanged greetings. The three didn’t talk much during the drive, only making small talk.

After arriving at the branch office, the three got out of the car, entered the building, and took the elevator up to Song Yao’s office.

Once in the office, the three of them took their seats. A secretary brought each of them a glass of water before turning to leave.

"President Song, please tell us what’s going on," Lin Guo’er said with a smile, looking at Song Yao.

Hearing this, Song Yao nodded, her charming face growing solemn. "I’ve already reported the situation here to General Manager Liu, so I believe you both have a general understanding. Let me explain in detail.

"It started three days ago, when the Fan Group suddenly began seizing our market share. That in itself isn’t a problem—business always has competition.

"However, two days ago, the Fan Group started actively suppressing our products. You know how much influence the Fan Group wields in America. We were powerless against their pressure. Just like that, our company was completely overwhelmed. Our market share has been squeezed to the absolute minimum, and we’re in danger of collapsing at any moment.

"I had no other choice but to ask General Manager Liu for help," Song Yao finished, looking at Lin Guo’er with a helpless expression.

Lin Guo’er nodded. This is the Fan Family’s home turf. It would be all too easy for them to target Yashi Company here. If the Fan Family continues with this pressure, the New York branch of Yashi could really collapse at any moment! At this thought, her expression grew serious. This is going to be very difficult to handle.

Just then, Lin Kuang asked with a smile, "President Song, how exactly are they suppressing us? There shouldn’t be any issues with our products, right?"

"No, there’s nothing wrong with our products. In fact, they are very popular here. But the Fan Group has launched a similar product of their own. I’ve seen it; it’s quite similar to ours, with some minor differences, but the quality is undeniably excellent. That, combined with their aggressive advertising campaigns and other activities to suppress our products, has led us to this point," Song Yao explained.

Lin Kuang simply nodded with a smile. Sounds like there really might be a mole in the company, he thought. Otherwise, how could the Fan Family release a product so similar to Yashi Company’s?

With this in mind, Lin Kuang asked again, "President Song, have you ever considered that our product information was leaked? Or, to put it another way, have you ever suspected that someone in our company might have been bought off?"

Upon hearing this, a flicker of shock—and something else—flashed through Song Yao’s eyes. "Mr. Lin, are you suggesting we have a mole in our company?" she asked, her tone incredulous.

"Yes. I believe our company’s trade secrets have likely been leaked," Lin Kuang said solemnly, looking straight at her.

"I hadn’t considered that... but now that you mention it, perhaps we really do have a mole," Song Yao admitted.

"Good. If possible, let’s hold an emergency meeting this afternoon," Lin Kuang said with a smile.

Song Yao nodded in understanding. "Alright, I understand, Mr. Lin."

"Excellent. Please make the arrangements. Guo’er and I are going to grab a bite to eat. We’ll see you again this afternoon," Lin Kuang said with a smile.

"I can’t let you do that. Since you’re here, it must be my treat. Let me take you both," Song Yao insisted with a smile.

"There’s no need. We can all have dinner together tonight. For now, Guo’er and I will just find a quick lunch," Lin Kuang said, standing up with a smile.

Hearing this, Song Yao could only nod. "Alright then. In that case, I’ll be sure to play the gracious host tonight."

"Great. We’ll leave it at that for now. Guo’er and I will get going," Lin Kuang said with a smile, before leading Lin Guo’er out.

As she watched Lin Kuang and Lin Guo’er’s departing figures, a thoughtful look appeared in Song Yao’s eyes.

After leaving the building, Lin Kuang and Lin Guo’er found a random fast-food restaurant.

"Guo’er, doesn’t Song Yao seem a bit off to you?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile once they were seated.

Lin Guo’er was taken aback. "Song Yao? What about her?"

"It’s nothing specific, just a gut feeling that something about her is off," Lin Kuang said earnestly, looking at Lin Guo’er. "Especially when I brought up the possibility of a mole. She acted shocked, but it felt forced, not as genuine as she was trying to appear.

"Plus, there was something else hidden in her eyes. I found that very strange."

Hearing this, Lin Guo’er’s expression changed. "Lin Kuang, are you saying... Song Yao is the mole?" she asked in disbelief.

"Not necessarily. I can’t say for sure yet. Let’s wait until after the meeting," Lin Kuang said. "But one thing is certain: something isn’t right with Song Yao."
