Chapter 735: Chapter 736: The Fan Family Calls

"Alright, we’ll talk about it later," Lin Guo’er said helplessly. Song Yao was someone Liu Shilin had carefully handpicked. If she really was the mole, Liu Shilin would be very disappointed.

"Yeah, let’s eat first and talk after," Lin Kuang said with a smile.

The two of them ordered some food and began to eat. After the meal, Lin Kuang called Chen Feng of the Wumi Building, asking him to look into Song Yao’s background and her recent contacts.

Chen Feng naturally agreed. However, the request had to be handled by the Wumi Building’s New York branch, so their person in charge would be calling Lin Kuang directly. Lin Kuang readily accepted with a smile. After all, it didn’t matter who called; the main thing was to get to the bottom of the situation with Song Yao.

"Alright, Guo’er, let’s head back," Lin Kuang suggested with a smile after the call.

Lin Guo’er nodded, and they quickly left, returning to the Yashi Building. When they arrived at Song Yao’s office, she was busy handling various matters.

"Manager Lin, Mr. Lin, please have a seat. The meeting starts in a little over half an hour," Song Yao greeted them with a smile as they walked in.

"It’s no trouble, President Song. Please, continue with your work. You must be exhausted, handling so many things right before a meeting," Lin Kuang said with a smile.

"It’s alright. President Liu has been very good to me, and with the company facing such a major crisis, I can’t afford to slack off," Song Yao replied cheerfully.

Lin Kuang just smiled and said no more. The more Song Yao acted this way, the more suspicious she seemed to him. After all, it was a critical time. With a meeting about to start, what business could be so pressing? Preparing for the meeting should be the priority. Of course, Lin Kuang didn’t voice these thoughts. Without any evidence, he certainly couldn’t say anything.

At 1:50 PM, Song Yao stood up and looked at them. "Manager Lin, Mr. Lin, please follow me. The meeting starts in ten minutes."

Hearing this, Lin Kuang and Lin Guo’er also rose and followed Song Yao out of the office.

After a few turns, the three of them arrived at the conference room. The room was already filled with senior staff from the Yashi Company; ordinary employees were not qualified to attend such a high-level meeting.

"Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you. This is Manager Lin Guo’er from the head office, and this is Mr. Lin Kuang. They have come to help us get through this difficult time," Song Yao announced with a smile, standing at the head of the conference table.

At her words, the people at the table nodded and applauded, welcoming Lin Kuang and Lin Guo’er.

Song Yao tried to offer the head seat to Lin Guo’er, but there was no way Lin Guo’er would accept it. In the end, two chairs were added for them, and they sat on either side of Song Yao.

Song Yao presided over the meeting, and at Lin Kuang’s deliberate suggestion, she brought up the topic of an internal mole. As expected, the moment the word "mole" was spoken, the room erupted. Everyone stared at Song Yao with shocked, incredulous eyes.

Lin Kuang’s expression remained calm as he carefully observed everyone’s eyes. The eyes are the windows to the soul; through their movements, one can deduce a person’s thoughts. Of course, this wasn’t a skill an ordinary person possessed, but luckily for him, Lin Kuang was no ordinary person. His dark, profound gaze swept over each person present. However, he didn’t notice anything amiss.

It seems the senior executives really don’t know about the mole. In that case, Song Yao is undoubtedly the prime suspect. I’ll wait for the report from the Wumi Building. Then I’ll know what kind of person this woman truly is. Lin Kuang thought, glancing impassively at Song Yao beside him.

The meeting was short and lacked any substantive content, as it was merely a test orchestrated by Lin Kuang. After it concluded, Lin Kuang, Lin Guo’er, and Song Yao left and returned to Song Yao’s office.

"Mr. Lin, did you discover anything?" Song Yao asked with a smile after they were seated.

Lin Kuang shook his head slightly. "No, I didn’t notice anything unusual," he said, feigning a helpless tone.

"If there really is a mole, it seems they’re hidden very deeply," Song Yao added.

"Perhaps. Just leave this to us. Don’t worry, President Song, we’ll handle it," Lin Kuang said, looking at her with a smile.

"Mm, I have faith in the abilities of both you and Manager Lin," Song Yao said, smiling.

Just as Lin Kuang was about to respond, the phone in his pocket began to ring. Seeing the unfamiliar number on the screen, his heart stirred. It had to be the Wumi Building. He stepped out of the office and answered the phone. "Hello, who is this?"

"Lin Kuang, the King of the Underworld. Tsk tsk, I didn’t expect you to actually dare to come to New York. I admire your courage. However, after today, I believe the name Lin Kuang will no longer exist in this world."

As soon as Lin Kuang answered, a cold laugh echoed from the other end of the line. His heart skipped a beat. He had thought it was the head of the Wumi Building in New York, but the voice clearly proved otherwise.

"Who are you? Someone from the Fan Family?" Lin Kuang asked with a frown.

"Of course I am. Lin Kuang, the only consequence for opposing our Fan Family is death! I’m informing you in advance so you can prepare your own coffin. See how humane we of the Fan Family are," the man on the other end laughed again, his voice grating on Lin Kuang’s nerves.

"Is that so? I’ll prepare a coffin. No, actually, I’ll prepare several, since they’ll be for you. After all, you wouldn’t dare come after me alone," Lin Kuang retorted with a disdainful laugh.

"Heh, you’ve got a sharp tongue, kid. No need to be impatient. We’ll be coming to kill you tonight. See you then," the caller sneered before hanging up.

Lin Kuang wasn’t fazed. If they wanted to kill him, they had better be prepared to be killed instead.

You people from the Fan Family really won’t shed a tear until you see the coffin! We’ll see about this. One day, I’ll be the one making you cry! Lin Kuang thought, his eyes brimming with killing intent.

At that moment, the Fan Family was also making preparations. They hadn’t lured Lin Kuang to New York just to play games. Now that he was here, he was a dead man. That was their plan.

Lin Kuang pocketed his phone and was about to head back into the office when it rang again.
