Chapter 731: Chapter 732: Trouble in America

Having arrived in the kitchen, Lin Kuang cooked Lin Guo’er a bowl of Yangchun noodles and served it to her. Smelling the enticing aroma, Lin Guo’er’s stomach growled, causing her pretty face to blush.

"Go ahead and eat. Look how hungry you are, even your stomach is protesting," Lin Kuang said with a laugh, hearing the rumbling from her stomach.

"Okay, then I’ll start. Aren’t you having any?" Lin Guo’er asked, her face flushing as she looked at the single bowl of noodles before her.

"No need, I’m not hungry. You go ahead," Lin Kuang said with a smile.

Hearing this, Lin Guo’er didn’t hold back and began to eat. By the time she finished the bowl, she was glistening with sweat, her smooth forehead beaded with perspiration.

"Slow down, what’s the rush?" Lin Kuang said as he gently wiped the sweat from her brow.

"Because I was starving! Plus, these Yangchun noodles are delicious," Lin Guo’er replied.

Lin Kuang nodded with a smile. "Of course. You think my cooking skills are just for show? My culinary talents are top-notch."

"Pfft, listen to you brag. A little praise and you’re already full of yourself. Shameless," Lin Guo’er huffed.

"Am I? I’ve always been an upstanding person. How can you slander me like that? Does your conscience feel no guilt?" Lin Kuang declared with mock indignation, leaving Lin Guo’er completely dumbfounded.

"Seriously," she said with a look of utter defeat. "I’ve met a lot of shameless people, but I have never seen anyone who has perfected it to your level."

"When it comes to shamelessness, they’re not even in my league," Lin Kuang said, looking rather proud of himself.

"You’re unbelievable. I’m not even going to bother with you. I’m going upstairs to take a shower," Lin Guo’er said, standing up.

"Want to go together? I don’t think we’ve ever showered together before," Lin Kuang asked with a sly grin, his eyes tracing her enticing figure.

"In your dreams!" Lin Guo’er retorted irritably, turning to walk towards the upstairs bathroom.

Heh, she actually said no? Should I sneak in anyway? Once I’m in there, she won’t have a choice but to agree. Lin Kuang mused, a conflicted look on his face as he watched her leave. In the end, he decided against it. There was plenty of time. Sooner or later, he’d get that girl to join him in the shower willingly.

Having settled the matter, Lin Kuang relaxed and idly flipped through the channels on the television.

When Lin Guo’er came back downstairs, she was in her underwear with a silk robe thrown on over them.

"My dear Guo’er, I swear you get more beautiful every day. It’s becoming too much for me to handle," Lin Kuang said with a grin.

Hearing his words, Lin Guo’er rolled her eyes, but she was secretly delighted. What woman wouldn’t be happy to hear such praise from her man?

"It’s about time. I need to go pick up that little rascal Xinxin. Want to come with me?" Lin Kuang asked, glancing at her.

Lin Guo’er shook her head. "No, I’d have to get properly dressed and ready. It’s too much of a hassle, and we might run out of time. You go on your own. I’ll wait for you guys here."

"Alright, that works. You wait here, I’m heading out now," Lin Kuang nodded. He leaned in and gave her a soft kiss on the lips before turning to leave.

Driving his car, Lin Kuang headed straight for Xinxin’s kindergarten. He knew the route by heart, having made the trip more than once. When he arrived, class wasn’t out yet, so he lit a cigarette and waited patiently.

About fifteen minutes later, the school doors opened and the children began to file out. The moment he saw little Xinxin with her small backpack, a wide smile spread across his face. Seeing this little girl always made him happy. Even though she wasn’t his biological daughter, he adored her from the bottom of his heart.

"Xinxin!" Lin Kuang called out with a smile as she stepped through the kindergarten gates.

Hearing the familiar voice, Xinxin spun around and saw Lin Kuang beaming at her. Her face lit up, and she ran toward him with her little arms wide open, shouting, "Uncle Kuang!"

Lin Kuang closed the distance in a few quick strides and scooped her up into his arms.

"Hey, little one. Did you miss me?" he asked with a laugh, planting a kiss on her cheek.

"Of course! I missed you so, so much, Uncle Kuang!" Xinxin said happily, wrapping her small arms around his neck in an adorable hug.

"Come on, Uncle Kuang will take you home," Lin Kuang said with another laugh, carrying her back to the car.

He drove them straight home. When they arrived, Liu Shilin and the other women were already back from work. However, as Lin Kuang walked cheerfully into the living room with Xinxin, he immediately noticed that the atmosphere was tense. The Witch, who always wore her heart on her sleeve, had a look of pure fury on her doll-like face.

"What’s wrong? What happened?" Lin Kuang asked, puzzled by the somber mood.

"It’s those bastards from the Fan Family!" the Witch exclaimed, her cheeks puffed out in anger. Even when furious, she looked incredibly cute.

Lin Kuang’s brow furrowed. "The Fan Family? What did they do?"

This time, Liu Shilin spoke. "They’re using their influence in America to suppress our branch company. Right now, our American office is in a very difficult position. There have been major staff changes, and our market share is shrinking rapidly. If this continues, our American division could go completely bankrupt, which would be a huge blow to us."

Hearing this, Lin Kuang’s expression turned grim. "I see. It looks like the Fan Family just won’t give up," he said with a cold laugh.

He understood perfectly. This was the Fan Family’s new tactic, launched after they failed to kill him. It was undoubtedly a lure to draw him to America. Lin Kuang was sure they had a trap waiting for him there, as America was their stronghold and home to their most important companies.

"Alright, don’t you worry," Lin Kuang said, looking at the women. "I’ll fly to America tomorrow. I’ll handle this."

"Will it be dangerous?" Liu Shilin asked immediately.

"Maybe, maybe not. But either way, I have to go," Lin Kuang replied.

"Okay. You’re the only one who can resolve this. Do you want me to come with you?" Liu Shilin asked again.

"No, you’re needed here in East Sea, and you can’t get away anyway," Lin Kuang said with a smile after a moment’s thought. "I’ll be fine on my own."
