Chapter 713: Chapter 714 Kokusei Shrine

Upon hearing this, Lin Kuang nodded. "Alright, I understand. In that case, take us to the Kokusei Shrine tonight. We’ll go in and take a look."

"Mr. Lin, it’s very dangerous there. Are you really prepared to go in?" the Wumi Building’s manager asked, his tone grave. "This isn’t a game. That’s the Kokusei Shrine, the stronghold of the Yamata no Orochi organization. You can imagine how dangerous it is."

"Yes, we must go in," Lin Kuang said with a smile. "Don’t worry. If it gets dangerous, we will withdraw in time."

"Alright then, please be careful. Do you need our men to assist you? I have a few Skyline experts here, as well as a master of the Three Flowers Gathering at the Top to hold the fort," the manager said with utmost seriousness. He had already received a message from headquarters ordering him to cooperate fully with any of Lin Kuang’s requests, which was why he made the offer.

After a moment of thought, Lin Kuang smiled. "There’s no need. The two of us will scout it out first. If we can’t handle it, it won’t be too late for your people to help us next time."

"Very well. Since you’ve made your decision, Mr. Lin, we’ll proceed as you wish. I’ll arrange for you to head to the Kokusei Shrine tonight," the manager said.

Lin Kuang simply nodded with a smile.

The drive took nearly an hour before the car finally came to a stop. "Mr. Lin, please," the Wumi Building manager said with a smile as he got out. "This is our temporary headquarters. You can rest here for now."

"Thank you," Lin Kuang said with a smile as he opened his own door. Blood Asura naturally followed him out. Before them stood a Japanese-style manor that covered a vast area, looking like it could easily accommodate dozens, if not hundreds, of people.

"Mr. Lin, this way, please," the manager said with a smile, bowing toward Lin Kuang.

Lin Kuang smiled and nodded, following the man to a row of rooms.

"Mr. Lin, these two rooms are your accommodations. You can rest here shortly," the man said, his hospitality impeccable. "For now, allow me to take you to eat. I imagine you both must be hungry."

Lin Kuang nodded, as he was indeed hungry. In the dining hall, they were served a meal of Island Country specialties. Although Lin Kuang wasn’t particularly fond of such food, it was a kind gesture from their host, so he didn’t say anything.

After the meal, Lin Kuang and Blood Asura returned to their rooms to rest and prepare for the night’s mission.

Evening arrived quickly. The two skipped dinner and set out for the Kokusei Shrine under the cover of darkness. Before they left, the Wumi Building’s manager had given Lin Kuang a map of the shrine. However, it was up to Lin Kuang and Blood Asura to discover any hidden traps or mechanisms within.

Lin Kuang studied the map carefully before passing it to Blood Asura. Blood Asura glanced at it, then handed it back, having evidently already memorized it. Seeing this, Lin Kuang put the map back in his pocket and rested quietly in the car.

Just over half an hour later, the vehicle stopped.

"Mr. Lin, this is the Kokusei Shrine. I’ll park here and wait for you," the driver said.

"No need. You can go," Lin Kuang said to the driver with a smile. "We’ll find our own way out."

"Ah, alright then. Please be careful, you two," the driver said respectfully.

"We will." With that, Lin Kuang and Blood Asura got out of the car and stared at the massive Kokusei Shrine spread out before them.

"It certainly looks impressive," Lin Kuang remarked, glancing at Blood Asura beside him. "We’ll split up and meet in the final courtyard."

"Alright. Do you want the main gate, or should I take it?" Blood Asura asked.

"I’ll take the main gate. You take the side gate. Be careful," Lin Kuang replied.

"I will," Blood Asura nodded.

With that, the two separated. Blood Asura headed for the side gate while Lin Kuang moved quickly toward the main one. The main gate was already closed, but a smaller side door next to it remained open. Lin Kuang’s powerful Perception spread out, carefully sensing the situation beyond the gate. Fortunately, there was no one just inside. He calmly pushed open the small door and slipped in. Following the route on the map, he moved swiftly along the shrine’s paths toward the final courtyard.

Meanwhile, Blood Asura had also entered the Kokusei Shrine unobstructed and was making his way toward the same destination. The two moved with cautious speed, passing through one courtyard after another.

However, upon reaching the third-to-last courtyard, their pace slowed. Although the area appeared deserted, both Lin Kuang and Blood Asura sensed hidden presences. If I’m not mistaken, the ones hiding here must be those damned ninjas from the Island Country.

Since they were separated, Lin Kuang didn’t know how Blood Asura would proceed, but he had already decided on his own course of action. He cautiously extended his powerful Perception, blanketing the entire courtyard. Just as I thought. Ninjas. Two are hidden at the entrance, and another two are less than ten meters away from me, he calculated. If Blood Asura isn’t a fool, he’ll handle the two at the entrance, which means these two are mine.

Lin Kuang bent down and picked up four small stones.

The next moment, he shot forward, two stones from his right hand flying out almost simultaneously. With two faint whooshes, the pebbles flew toward the two ninjas hidden in the rafters. The ninjas hadn’t noticed Lin Kuang at all—the gap in their strength was simply too great. By the time they heard the faint sound of something slicing through the air and turned their heads, it was already too late. The stones reached them before they had any chance to dodge, crushing their throats and killing them instantly. Their bodies tumbled down from the rafters.

Lin Kuang was already underneath them. He caught their falling bodies and swiftly tossed them into a nearby room. With that done, Lin Kuang rushed toward the entrance without pause, where two more ninjas were still hidden. Although Blood Asura was there, Lin Kuang felt a little worried, as this was their first time working together.

However, when Lin Kuang arrived, his worries vanished. The two ninjas had already been eliminated, their bodies disposed of by Blood Asura.

"Don’t worry. I’m quite proficient at assassination," Blood Asura’s voice reached him via Sound Transmission as he saw Lin Kuang arrive.
