Chapter 711: Chapter 712 Assassin Asura

"Is that so? Fine. Then let’s do this one by one." With that, Blood Asura prepared to strike, clearly not taking Lin Kuang seriously.

"Wait a moment," Lin Kuang said with a smile, looking at Blood Asura. "The night is long. Why the rush?"

Blood Asura frowned. "Are you stalling for time?"

"Heh, you underestimate me. I’m not that kind of person. Besides, I don’t need to stall for time to deal with you. It’s just... I think it would be a pity for you to be killed by me just like that. How about we make a bet?" Lin Kuang suggested with a smile.

"You’re that confident you can kill me? In my view, you are the one who is bound to be slain today," Blood Asura said coldly.

"Alright, since you’re so confident, let’s make a bet. Do you dare?" Lin Kuang repeated with a smirk.

"Bet what?" Blood Asura asked indifferently.

"Our lives," Lin Kuang replied with a smile.

"Bet our lives? You’re going to die anyway. What is there to bet on?" Blood Asura asked, confused.

"Not exactly. The life-stake bet I’m proposing is different from what you imagine. We fight. If you lose, your life belongs to me, and from this day forward, you will do whatever I command. Of course, if I lose, the same applies. My life will belong to you, and I will do whatever you ask. That’s my life-stake gamble. Do you dare to play?" Lin Kuang challenged with a grin.

In Lin Kuang’s view, Blood Asura was a rare expert. It would be a true pity if he were simply killed. As it happened, Lin Kuang was in need of powerful allies, and this assassin seemed like prey delivered right to his doorstep. Subduing him would be a great boon. That was the only reason Lin Kuang proposed the wager; otherwise, he wouldn’t have bothered wasting his breath.

Hearing Lin Kuang’s proposition, Blood Asura paused, his brow furrowing in thought.

"So, what do you say? Do you dare? If you don’t, we can just forget it. I won’t call you a coward," Lin Kuang said with a goading smile.

"Don’t try to goad me. Your little tricks don’t work on me!" Blood Asura sneered. "You want a bet? Fine. We’ll have our bet. Did you really think I’d be afraid of you?"

Lin Kuang smiled faintly. So much for taunts not working on him. It seems the provocation succeeded after all.

"Excellent. Then we have an agreement," Lin Kuang said with a smirk. "If I lose, my life is yours to do with as you please. If you lose, your life is mine to command. No problems?"

"No problem at all," Blood Asura declared, "because you are destined to die."

Lin Kuang just shook his head and smiled. "Who lives and who dies remains to be seen. We’ll only know after we fight. Come on, draw your weapon. Let’s begin!"

As he spoke, Lin Kuang drew the Nameless Sword from his waist.

Seeing this, Blood Asura was equally direct. Two daggers appeared in his hands. They were pitch-black, devoid of any luster—blades forged purely for the art of assassination.

Xiao Yingzi, standing nearby, sent a worried Sound Transmission to Lin Kuang. "Be careful. I know you want to subdue him, but he’s incredibly strong. He’s a master in the Skyline Realm, perhaps even at its Peak. You have to be cautious."

Glancing at her, Lin Kuang transmitted his reply, "Don’t worry, I’m confident. I wouldn’t be this rash otherwise. Trust me."

"Alright. Just be careful," Xiao Yingzi transmitted back.

Lin Kuang nodded, his gaze locking back onto Blood Asura. "Come on, make your move," he said with a laugh. "Let me see just how formidable the infamous Blood Asura really is." The Nameless Sword in his hand began to hum, eager for battle.

"Oh, don’t worry. I’ll show you," Blood Asura said. "Let’s begin!"

In the next instant, his figure shot forward, leaving a trail of afterimages as he closed the distance to Lin Kuang with terrifying speed.

Lin Kuang nearly laughed out loud. He wants to compete in speed? In the entire Skyline Realm, there’s almost no one who can match my speed! For him to challenge me like this is a death wish.

With that thought, Lin Kuang charged, thrusting the Nameless Sword directly at Blood Asura’s throat. Still, I can’t underestimate those daggers. As they say, the shorter the weapon, the greater the danger. He’s using two of them, so he definitely has some tricks up his sleeve.

As Lin Kuang’s sword thrust forward, one of Blood Asura’s daggers shot out to meet it.

CLANG!

A grating screech of metal on metal rang out as the tip of Blood Asura’s dagger precisely intercepted the point of the Nameless Sword.

The instant their weapons met, Blood Asura twisted his body to the side, evading the length of the Nameless Sword. His right-hand dagger then stabbed viciously toward Lin Kuang’s abdomen. The sequence was executed in a flash, a textbook killing blow.

Lin Kuang was genuinely surprised. This guy is even stronger than I thought. His combat experience is terrifying. But the stronger he is, the more I like it. If I’m going to subdue an expert, it has to be someone like him. What’s the point of recruiting a nobody?

With that thought, Lin Kuang activated his Extreme Shadow Illusion. His figure blurred, retreating explosively in an instant to put distance between them. After all, speed was his greatest advantage.

Having dodged the attack, Lin Kuang counterattacked, thrusting his Nameless Sword toward Blood Asura’s abdomen. Blood Asura’s figure flickered as he tried to evade. At that exact moment, however, Lin Kuang flicked his wrist. The blade of the Nameless Sword, previously rigid, suddenly curved like a whip, its sharp tip snaking toward Blood Asura’s waist.

Blood Asura’s expression changed slightly. He thrust his dagger out again, barely managing to intercept the sword’s tip. A formidable force traveled up the blade, sending him stumbling backward.

Lin Kuang pressed his advantage immediately. The Nameless Sword moved with the ghost-like unpredictability of his Antelope Hanging Horn Sword Technique, leaving no traces to follow. The seemingly chaotic storm of strikes forced Blood Asura into a constant retreat. He could only defend desperately, with no room to counterattack. Despite gaining the upper hand, Lin Kuang didn’t grow complacent. He continued his assault with the same sword technique, completely suppressing Blood Asura.
