Chapter 1631: Chapter 1631: A Sense of Happiness

Janelle Mills was particularly happy to hear this.

Trevor urged, "Quickly go accompany your mom, so she doesn’t sit alone awkwardly. This is Old Mills’s house, after all."

"Mhm!" Janelle also understood his intention and nodded vigorously, "Then I’ll go first, okay? Thank you for your hard work here." Then she stood on tiptoe and planted a light kiss on his face, "Love you!"

She waved to him playfully like a little fairy and ran off.

The small spot on Trevor’s face also turned a bit red; she was happy, and so was he.

Just as she stepped out of the kitchen, Janelle Mills saw the scene in the living room and stopped in her tracks.

"Carlotta, have a cup of warm milk first?"

Old Mills gently placed the cup of milk on the coffee table, his voice warm, "We just made your favorite chicken wings, still in the air fryer, they’ll be ready soon."

"Thank you." Carlotta Sterling looked up at him, her heart full of emotion.

Janelle Mills was extremely delighted to see this; her parents could finally coexist peacefully and now had each other in their eyes and hearts! She was even happier than during the New Year.

Janelle walked happily towards her parents, clapped her hands lightly, smiling brightly like a flower, "How wonderful!"

Old Mills turned his gaze upon hearing the sound. He suddenly felt a bit embarrassed, glanced at his ex-wife, then at his daughter, then, collecting himself, stepped towards the kitchen.

Preparing the New Year’s Eve dinner together with Trevor, Old Mills was very happy too.

"Sister Sterling." Janelle sat down beside her, leaned over, and softly asked, "Do you feel a sense of happiness?"

The light smile on Carlotta’s lips said it all.

Emerald Cove.

The kitchen on the first floor was also bustling. Tonight is destined to be a grand feast.

Kristina Kingston was on site, overseeing every detail, meticulously going over the menu. There are important guests tonight, in-laws are coming over, so there’s no room for any neglect or mistakes.

The living room on the third floor was brightly lit, simply yet warmly decorated.

Mia Lane took off her shoes, resting her legs on the sofa, leaning leisurely against Justin Kingston’s chest.

He embraced her from behind, his long, slender fingers gently stroking her long hair, inhaling her fragrance, unable to resist closing his deep eyes.

Mia was seriously reading the note Ian Shelby had given her. There weren’t many words on it, but she read it three times carefully.

Finally, when Justin opened his eyes, he saw his wife slightly frowning, her previously calm expression subtly changing.

He didn’t disturb her, nor did he inquire, just watched as Mia put down the note and leaned forward to pick up the medical book.

She sat up straight, seriously searching for something.

Justin then picked up the note beside him; though it had been with him for two days, this was the first time he read it.

It mentioned the King being poisoned for five years, described the basic condition after poisoning, and included some of Ian Shelby’s own speculations.

And it listed some medicinal herbs that couldn’t be found in Lorelei, asking for her help.

After a while.

Mia turned to look at the man behind her and softly said, "We have a way to counteract this poison, we can prepare an antidote, but it will take some time."

"How much time?" Justin worried the King couldn’t wait, "You need to hurry."

Mia met his gaze, "I can’t be specific, but from his description, there’s still a chance of rescue, we mustn’t underestimate the power of Chinese medicine."

Justin took out a box from his pocket and opened it gently in front of her, revealing some scraps of cloth inside.
