Chapter 1630: Chapter 1630: Janelle Mills’ Cleverness

Janelle Mills noticed her mother’s hesitant expression and felt overjoyed inside. Soon, she slowed down the car and parked in the yard of the small villa.

They had arrived.

Before they even got out of the car, Carlotta Sterling saw two other cars parked in the yard, one belonging to Trevor and the other to Nathan Mills.

She was secretly surprised and then turned to ask, "Is your dad here?"

"Now that you’re back, I’ll make him leave immediately!" Janelle Mills complained on purpose, "That old man, really. I sent him several messages telling him to leave quickly, but he acted like he didn’t receive any! He’s still parked here!"

Seeing her daughter get out of the car with emotions, Carlotta Sterling hurried out as well, "Hey, hey, hey!" She walked around the car and grabbed her daughter, whispering, "What are you doing? Don’t get so worked up, especially during New Year’s."

"I’m making him leave, right, it’s New Year’s, after all. We can’t have your mood affected." Janelle Mills defended her mother, her acting skills top-notch.

Carlotta Sterling felt a bit conflicted inside, pulling her daughter with a half-smile, "Well... it’s New Year’s, maybe just let it be? After all, he’s your dad. If you make a fuss... how bad would it look to Trevor?"

Janelle Mills stopped in her tracks, looking at her doubtfully, "Really not making him leave?"

"Not making him leave."

"Let him stay for New Year’s dinner?" She asked again to confirm.

Carlotta Sterling nodded firmly, "Yes."

Then, the girl scrutinized her mother, unable to suppress a grin.

"Let’s go, what are you looking at?" Carlotta Sterling gently nudged her, feeling a bit embarrassed as she stepped forward.

Janelle Mills had really figured out her mother’s thoughts; she felt reconciliation was hopeful!

Maybe, she should ask Old Mills to take Sister Sterling for a medical check-up sometime?

She thought, Old Mills would definitely agree! Looking at the current situation, Sister Sterling might not refuse.

The mother and daughter had just walked inside when they smelled the aroma of dishes wafting from the kitchen, various enticing scents mixed together, a feast tonight!

"We’re back!" Janelle shouted excitedly inside, "Isn’t anyone coming out to greet us?"

Soon, Old Mills and Trevor appeared at the kitchen door, both wearing aprons, with one holding a spatula and the other a kitchen knife.

Carlotta Sterling was a bit surprised to see this, "..." Two men cooking together?

"Hello, Auntie." Trevor greeted with a warm smile.

"Sit, sit, sit! Hurry and sit!" Old Mills beamed with a cheerful smile, joy brimming in his expression, "You’ve had a long flight, we’re just preparing to welcome you and dust off the journey."

Janelle Mills smiled at the woman beside her, noticing she seemed stunned, yet moved, and she too felt a bit of happiness.

Janelle quickly squeezed Carlotta’s shoulder, laughing, "Sit down, I’ll go see what help is needed!"

With that, she headed towards the kitchen.

Old Mills and Trevor also turned back into the kitchen, Old Mills hurriedly put down the spatula, clumsily washed his hands, and quickly prepared to make some milk for Carlotta...

Meanwhile, Janelle Mills hugged the apron-clad Trevor from behind, her face beaming with happiness as she rested her cheek against his strong back, not caring if there were any elders around.

"Don’t you love oysters? I made forty today." Trevor was quite good at cooking, busy mincing garlic, as he looked back at her with a face full of affection, "Janelle, aren’t you going to keep your mom company?"

"No." The girl tightened her embrace on purpose, "I want to hug you, I’ve missed you."

"It’s been less than an hour since we parted." Trevor couldn’t help but laugh, his heart sweet as sugar, "Aren’t you going to help?"

The girl really let go and came beside him, "I’d love to, what do you need me to do?"

"Nothing, nothing," Trevor quickly said to her, "Please go out; in our house, when there are men around, women shouldn’t have to enter the kitchen. Leave it to us!"
