Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Grabbing Things
Ye Lingyue took the box of jewelries inside her small space, and she searched the entire room for more valuable items.
Soon, she frowned. There weren’t many jewelries beside the one in the box, and even after she searched everywhere, she still didn’t find anything.
Does the Ye family think that since Ye Lingyue is a fool, there is no point in dressing her up and giving her valuable items?
But... it didn’t make sense. Madam Ye seemed to like her daughter a lot even though she was just a fool. She wouldn’t mistreat her daughter...
Ye Lingyue walked toward the door, trying to eavesdrop on the conversation between Ye Longrui and the imperial guard.
"Mother entrusted my sister to me. She is easily scared and has just been recovering from a serious illness. I will stay here and wait for her to come out," Ye Lingrui said gently.
The imperial guard gave him a weird gaze and didn’t insist further. The Ye family wouldn’t be able to escape the punishment anyway; they were already utterly ruined.
This young man in front of him might have gone crazy from the devastating news or still held the delusion escaping from this trouble.
He was still too young to understand, the imperial guard sighed with pity.
Ye Lingyue raised her eyebrows, and she turned around. Her eyes landed on the windows. An idea formed in her head.
If she can’t find any valuables in this room, why not go to other rooms? With that idea in mind, she jumped to the window, frowning slightly at the long skirt.
When she played her role as Shen Wuqing, she often wore trousers when less people were around. She would only wear skirts when there was Qin Ruichen around.
Even though she couldn’t move as freely with such a garment, she had to bear with it for now. Her body nimbly jumped down from the window once she made sure there were no people around.
The imperial guards were busy overseeing things, making sure the servants didn’t hide any valuables when they weren’t looking or worse, running away.
As soon as she landed, she frowned. Although this body was well-fed, it was weak, not as strong or as well-trained as Shen Wuqing’s body. She was a little unused to this newfound fact.
"Be quick! Down dawdle around!" The imperial guards were shouting sharply at the group of frightened servants.
Ye Lingyue hid behind a huge tree. Since the Ye family even received an imperial decree, it would be hard to overturn the case unless they proved each accusation wrong.
Once they arrived at the location they had been exiled to, she would make sure to train this body a little bit.

Ye Lingyue moved quickly, heading toward each of the courtyard. She entered one room after another, and still failed to find any valuables.
"Who goes there?" It turned out to be Ye Lanxi’s room.
