The woman’s eyes were kind, carrying a warmth that immediately put Maeve at ease.

Maeve stared at her in silence. For some reason, just looking at the woman made her heart feel strangely calm.

"You’re..." Maeve murmured.

The woman smiled. "Yes."

Maeve’s eyes slowly widened. "The Sky Mother?"

The woman gave a gentle nod. "I am."

Maeve immediately straightened her posture, and pointed her finger at her. "Y-You... You’re real?!"

All this time, Maeve had been using the Sky Mother’s name so the people around her wouldn’t question where she got all those strange items. But she had never imagined that she would actually meet the Sky Mother one day!

"This has to be a dream," Maeve mumbled, trying to convince herself. "Yes... it has to be. There’s no other explanation."

After all, dreams could become incredibly strange, especially after a high fever. And she had just gone through an exhausting childbirth that had pushed her body to its limit. Hence, there was no way this could be real.

To test her theory, Maeve pinched her own arm, and her eyes immediately lit up. "See? Just like I thought!" she said proudly. "It didn’t hurt at all, so I must be dreaming!"

The blue-skinned woman in front of her let out a soft laugh. "It didn’t hurt because this isn’t a dream, my child," the Sky Mother said with a warm smile. "I have simply invited your soul into my divine realm."

Maeve blinked several times, certain she had heard wrong. "My... what?"

"The place where we are now is my divine realm," the Sky Mother explained patiently. "Your body is still in the Azuryn settlement, only your soul is here with me."

"So..." she said slowly, "I’m not dead, right?"

The Sky Mother couldn’t help smiling. "No."

Maeve let out a long sigh of relief. "Oh, thank goodness." She placed a hand over her chest. "For a second, I thought giving birth had actually killed me."

The Sky Mother let out another gentle laugh. "You have survived, Maeve. Your body simply reached its limit after enduring so much."

The Sky Mother walked—or perhaps floated—toward her. She slowly reached out her hand, and before Maeve could react, the Sky Mother’s fingertips gently touched her forehead.

A blinding golden light bloomed beneath her hand. Maeve’s eyes widened as a gentle warmth spread from her forehead, flowing through her neck, chest, arms, and legs until it reached every part of her body.

The feeling was so comforting that all the tension she had been holding onto slowly melted away.

"What... is this?" Maeve asked in a soft voice.

Without realizing it, she closed her eyes. The warmth wrapped around her like a gentle embrace, making her whole body relax. For the first time since giving birth, she felt completely at peace.

"I have given you my blessing, my child," the Sky Mother said with a gentle smile. "As a gift for the blessing you have brought to the Azuryn Tribe, I have blessed you with the stamina of the people of this world."

She gently lowered her hand. "Because now... you are one of us."

After the Sky Mother finished speaking, the warmth flowing through Maeve’s body grew even stronger. It became so comforting that she could barely keep her eyes open.

She suddenly wanted nothing more than to lie down on the soft clouds and fall asleep.

Everything felt so peaceful and when she finally opened her eyes again, she found herself in a different place.

No... wait, this wasn’t a strange place at all. She was inside her own hut!

Maeve took a deep breath, and as the familiar scent of the outside world filled her nose, she finally became certain that she had left the underground chamber.

Maeve nodded without hesitation. To be honest, she had no idea how to explain everything that had just happened. Even she was still trying to process it herself.

After thinking for a moment, she decided to keep it simple. "She blessed me so my body can fully adapt to this world," Maeve explained with a small smile. "So... I guess I’ll be staying here for a very, very long time."
