Chapter 42: Two Sides Of One World

"Oh," Luna said as she sat next to Yume as they both were eating while watching Akasha approach the final tier.

"It’s finally time for the real show."

It had been about two hours since Akasha had begun his battles within the Dawn Citadel ruins.

And.... the time was here was anything but a breeze.

Akasha’s first and second battles went smoothly, but every fight after that turned into a real challenge.

The first construct he faced was a Tier 10, matching his total battle output, but from then on, each opponent only grew stronger.

By the time he reached his last battle, the construct was unleashing the sheer power beyond a universal peak being.

If these opponents had been anything other than constructs—capable of wielding the full abilities of someone at their rank—Akasha’s chances of survival would have been truly tested.

Not only that, but it was important to note that these constructs were not truly different; they appeared to be older versions of the same man.

Still, Akasha managed to push through each battle with ease, relying on his many affinities and combat skills.

At present, the clothes he had dreamed into existence—the artifacts—were in tatters, slowly mending themselves. Now, he stood before the fifth and final construct, smiling as he looked out over the battle-ravaged grounds.

Hearing Luna’s words, Akasha scanned the construct before him. In that instant, all its basic information became clear.

’Hmm, same light and fire affinities...’ he thought, noting nothing unusual except that the construct was Tier 15 with the battle output of Tier 34.

That was until he examined its hidden information. Tilting his head, his voice calm yet curious, he spoke.

"So, you have sentience, huh?"

The male Sun Kami slowly turned its burning gaze toward Akasha.

Its eyes were twin orbs of raging solar fire, bright and intense, like miniature suns trapped within its skull.

The construct stood tall and imposing, clad in ornate golden armor etched with ancient.

It carried a long, blazing spear that flickered with stellar flames, its posture straight and commanding — the very image of a Fire God General who had led armies across the stars.

And his presence alone made the air around him ripple with heat.

As it gazed at Akasha, its burning eyes narrowed in clear confusion.

"...Hmm, how can this be? You possess two entirely different bloodlines," the construct said, slightly shocked.

"A Vampire... and a Dragon, no less.

A being of both the topside and the underside... standing within the halls of the Celestial Sun."

Akasha raised an eyebrow, a hint of surprise flickering across his face at how easily the construct had identified his race.

’Topside and underside?’ he wondered, as the strange terms tumbling through his thoughts as he opened his mouth to speak.

Before he could utter a word, the Sun Kami slowly shook its head, murmuring under its breath.

"...Has the balance Kalpa grown so thin?"

It looked straight at Akasha and asked, its voice carrying weight that almost resembled disappointment.

"What Era is this?"

Akasha wasn’t particularly fond of being kept in the dark, interrupted, or subjected to any of the behavior this construct had shown so far.

As it bordered on outright disrespect, yet he could tell the man had something pressing on his mind.

So, tilting his head slightly, he thought back to his knowledge about Kalpa’s history.

"I think... we’re in the 83rd Era of Kalpa," he replied. "Though I don’t know anything about the Era of Pantheos."

The moment those words left his mouth, the construct froze.

For a few long moments, it just stood there, the flames licking around its form flickering erratically, as though trying to comprehend what it had just heard.

’The eighty-third era?’ he thought, utterly stunned. ’That means... sixty-three trillion years have passed, and the war still isn’t over?’

Such a thing seemed utterly impossible to him, for wars between Pantheons were never something that could end overnight.

However, it was almost unheard of for two Pantheons to remain locked in active conflict for sixty-three trillion years.

With a slow exhale, it let out a low, dry chuckle—a sound filled with bitter irony rather than joy.

"...Heh. I see."

The Sun Kami cast its gaze on Akasha once more, the fiery intensity in its eyes now heavy with an unfamiliar gravity.

"Boy, you are impressive" it said with genuine intrigue, sizing up its own power, which was tied to Akasha’s strength.

Realizing it was only at the Tier 15 stage, the Kami’s eyes widened slightly.

"Not even fifty years old and you’re already a True God... and on top of that, your battle power is downright absurd."

He paused, taking a long, assessing look at Akasha.

"Though... you should go. Come back when you’ve found a way to become even stronger... I’m not sure you’re ready to face me yet."

He drew in a deep breath, the flames around his spear burning brighter.

"While the other constructs were limited... I am not. If you die here, it would be a real tragedy. Once this fight begins, I am designed to end it... or be ended."

The construct paused, as though offering Akasha one last chance to change her mind. It wasn’t that he looked down on her—far from it.

In Akasha, he recognized a glimmer of hope, something rare and worth holding onto.

But when he considered the sheer gap in their overall strength, he knew that hope would be short-lived if they came to blows.

Akasha listened without moving his head from its tilted angle.

If he were naive or unfamiliar with the Power System, he wouldn’t have caught the subtle meaning behind this man’s words.

But he knew these Constructs hadn’t used a single Decree yet; something only attained at the True God rank.

Even though it wasn’t shown on the status, he was betting that the Construct could use one—because he wanted to experience its power firsthand.

Not only that, but he was also already mulling over his plan of attack, having firmly made up his mind.

’Hmm, even though this will be tough.... I want to see just how far I can be pushed,’ he thought, his fist slowly clenching.

At this moment, he still had over fifty million Divinity, and if it was truly as overpowered as claimed, he felt more than confident about the upcoming battle.

Yet, he had noticed that regenerating Divinity was a real hassle, even when using it freely. With his bloodline ranks, he had expected to at least replenish it faster than he could spend it.

But that wasn’t the case—as even every item he crafted to restore it ended up costing more than it returned.

’Fuck it... I’ll deal with regeneration later,’ he decided, straightening his posture. ’From the very start however.... I won’t be holding back."

As the thought passed, he spoke outward.

"Alright big guy, cut the nonsense," he said, eyes gleaming with excitement. "Bring it on."

Then before the Sun Kami could even react, Akasha was already moving.

HUMMMMMM!!!!

In that very instant several unranked constructs materialized around the Sun Kami in an instant — massive, dark-purple chains formed from pure divinity.

However, they weren’t just ordinary chains—several massive, ghostly hands lunged forward with startling speed, reaching to trap the construct’s limbs and spear.

CRACKKKKK!!!!!!

As mentioned before, an item’s Tier solely determined its durability.

This basically meant that if someone had a higher Tier of power than the construct, they could easily break it.

With just a single glance from the Sun Kami, every chain and ghostly hand shattered instantly.

Well, not all of them... because even though the Tier was lower than the Kami’s rank, the power of Divinity was no joke.

More than fifty chains and ghostly hands continued their relentless assault, managing to incapacitate the Sun Kami for a split second.

BOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!

HUMMMMMM!!!!!!

In that brief window, Akasha vanished and appeared behind him, launching a powerful kick toward the side of the Kami’s head with bone-shattering force.

However, in that split moment, the Kami released a surge of power.

The rest of the chains shattered instantly in a burst of golden light, and it caught Akasha’s kick with one blazing hand.

The heat radiating from its grip was searing, like holding onto the surface of a star.

"What?" the Sun Kami muttered in shock, its voice deep and resonant, laced with both shock and fury.

"One million Divinity... at True God rank?!"

The instant its words faded, it tried to hurl Akasha away with all its might, muscles tensing as blazing solar flames burst to life along its arm.

Yet, thanks to his passive abilities, Akasha didn’t move a single inch.

"Haha, good luck with that, bastard!" he laughed, standing firm and unshakable, like a mountain that could never be moved.

HUMMMMMMM!!!!!!

In that moment, he smiled like a madman, eyes blazing with exhilaration as he spent even more divinity.

CCRRRRAACCKKKKKKK!!!!!!!

RRRRROAAAARRRRRR!!!!!!

Then, below the floors, a massive horror-like worm figure tore through reality itself.

The moment it appeared; the entire Citadel shattered with a deafening crack.

The ancient golden walls, towering columns, and majestic murals exploded outward in a cataclysm of stone and light as the void swallowed them whole.

Instantly, Akasha and the Sun Kami were thrown into a weird space — a void, but not a true void.

Event still... their ranks were too low to survive any void for a long time.
