Chapter 41: The Dawn Citadel (3)
The moment they clashed, Akasha’s body was already moving.
They fought in the air, high above the grand hall, the ancient golden murals flickering wildly in the light of their colliding powers.
FWOOOM!!!!!
As the Sun Kami struck first, its stellar flames roaring as it thrust its blazing spear forward with blinding speed. The weapon left trails of white-hot fire that warped the air itself, the heat so intense it made the surrounding stone glow faintly.
Akasha flowed around the thrust with flawless grace, his body shifting at the exact right moment, so the spear only grazed the space where his shoulder had been.
[Battle Affinity]
Without hesitation, he countered with a powerful kick aimed at the Kami’s midsection, his leg cutting through the air like a whip.
And... just before impact, he triggered his Battle Affinity.
In an instant, the world around him seemed to snap into focus.
Every motion, every subtle rhythm, every potential move in the clash ahead became vividly apparent.
His body, his movements, and his will aligned seamlessly, flowing together as if they were one.
BANGGG!!!!!
CRACKKKK!!!!!
The kick connected with devastating force, sending the Sun Kami hurtling backward through the air.
Its radiant body slammed into one of the towering columns with a thunderous sound, with golden stone cracking under the blow as it was launched even further down the hall.
And... Akasha didn’t wait.
He chased immediately, rocketing forward in a blur of crimson and black.
[Fire Affinity]
FWOOOOOSH!!!!!!
As he closed the distance, he summoned a barrage of fireballs with a casual wave of his hand — each one roaring with immense intensity.
The fireballs streaked ahead of him like living comets, forcing the Kami to twist mid-air and counter with its own blazing orbs of solar fire.
BOOOOOM!!!!!
The two volleys collided in a blinding explosion of light and heat, the shockwave rattling the grand hall and sending golden dust cascading from the ceiling.
Through the flames, the Sun Kami emerged....
With is passive Divine Sight, seeing through the fire was easy and the moment it spotted Akasha.
It unleashed a beam of pure light from its palms, the attack cutting through the air with a high-pitched whine that made the surrounding murals shimmer violently.
In that instant, Akasha slit his wrist allowing the blood to pour freely like a fountain.
[Blood Affinity]
[Fire Affinity]
HUMMMM!!!!
BOOOOOOM!!!!!!!
With a mere thought, the blood twisted into a swirling crimson shield, effortlessly absorbing the beam of light.
In the next instant, he unleashed the stolen energy, transforming it into a concentrated, blood-infused fireball that roared through the air, hurtling toward the Kami with unnerving, unnatural speed.
[-800 DP - Lesser Ranked Construct]
The Sun Kami moved with graceful precision, its flames flaring as it spent 800 Divinity to create a wall of solar fire that met Akasha’s attack head-on.
BOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!
The collision sent another explosion rippling through the hall, the heat so intense that the air itself seemed to burn.
They clashed again and again, back and forth in a dazzling dance of power.
Akasha drew on his Pride Affinity to empower every strike with an unshakable confidence, his movements becoming sharper and more commanding as the battle raged on.
With sudden bursts of Dream Affinity, he warped the edges of reality itself, slipping into unexpected positions just in time to deliver crushing blows that sent the Kami staggering backward.
And to his great satisfaction, the Sun Kami met his ferocity with equal vigor, its searing flames growing ever hotter and more intense with each clash.
It spent its Divinity creatively — creating lances of concentrated fire that homed in on Akasha or forming protective rings of solar light that deflected his attacks.
Not only that, but its Divine Sight also allowed it to anticipate many of Akasha’s moves, forcing him to adapt constantly.
Yet Akasha’s Primordial Unity Battle Style kept him one step ahead.
He moved effortlessly between offense and defense, his body unshakable and his timing impeccable.
Every time the Kami tried to create distance, Akasha’s passive battle style ability, "Absolute Distance," would take effect, instantly closing the gap and putting him right in the Kami’s face with a devastating strike.
The grand hall trembled with their power, golden murals cracking and ancient stone groaning as the battle intensified.
And through it all Akasha’s maddening smile never faded, his blood singing with exhilaration as he pushed the Sun Kami harder, the fight becoming a beautiful, violent symphony of fire, blood, and unyielding will.
----
Far behind the battle, Luna and Yume sat on elegant thrones that had formed from condensed lust essence, watching the battle unfold.
Yume tilted her head slightly, her soft purple eyes curious.
"Mistress Luna... how long until these battles actually become difficult for him?"
Luna leaned back in her seat, a small, knowing smile playing at her lips.
"If my assumptions are correct... it won’t be until the last construct makes its appearance."
"Right... that’s when they actually become sentient, huh?" Yume replied with a nod, her expression reflecting the certainty brought by her newfound understanding.
"And until that moment... they’re just constructs imitating Akasha’s power level and the abilities of that True Kami."
BOOOOOM!!!!
"HAHA COME ON!!!"
In the distance, Akasha’s wild laughter rang out as he knocked the Sun Kami crashing into another wall with a thunderous sound, with the impact sending cracks spiderwebbing across the ancient golden murals.
Luna let out a soft, amused laugh as she leaned back more comfortably on her throne, glancing sideways at Yume.
"Can you quickly dream up some knowledge on things to eat... and then dream them up as we wait?" she asked, her voice light and relaxed, clearly enjoying the show from afar.
Yume smiled brightly, nodding without hesitation.
"Of course, Mistress Luna."
Then in a quick moment she entered Dreamland....
Only to come back with a beautiful spread of food on a low table that formed between their thrones — steaming dishes of perfectly roasted meats, fresh fruits glistening with dew, warm breads, and delicate desserts that shimmered faintly with dream essence.
"There," Yume said with a pleased smile. "This should keep us occupied while Master has his fun."
Luna’s eyes sparkled with quiet delight as she reached for one of the dishes.
"Perfect. Now let’s enjoy the show."
