Chapter 106: Convergence In The Land of Yomi (3) - Say... Mommy

Well... every being, perhaps, except Akasha.

As their decrees activated... the fireballs never stopped falling.

Akasha kept all five affinities roaring, and the chaotic black-violet spheres continued to rain from the sky without pause.

Yet roughly one hundred thousand survivors managed to endure.

Sun Kami and Humans of the Celestial Sun faction activated defensive decrees of Light and Life.

HUMMMMM!!!

Radiant barriers of pure solar light that burned away the chaotic flames before they could touch flesh, or life-infused fields that forced rapid regeneration by pouring living light into every wound.

HUMMMMMM!!!

Dead Kami, Vampires, Shadow Demons, and Ghouls of the opposing side answered with decrees of Death and Decay — cloaks of absolute decay that consumed the fireballs on contact, or death barriers that simply erased the incoming destruction as if it had never been present.

All of them turned their eyes toward the single figure floating high above.

"What the fuck is someone this strong doing on a Star Union battlefield?" a towering Sun Kami snarled, golden eyes shining with disbelief.

"Tsk... His power output is... too strong for us to handle," a Dead Kami hissed, voice like rasping bones.

Fear mixed with confusion passed through the survivors.

Not only that... they could feel it — the fragrance clinging to Akasha’s skin and blood.

He had the scent of the Underside... yet also of the Topside.

Not something entirely impossible in the grand scheme of things... but for a being like that to be on Kalpa... it was an impossible contradiction.

Akasha’s pure black eyes with narrow grey slits focused on one of the weaker troops.

And... a single glance was enough.

Through his Dimensional Standing, the basic information of this place flooded into him — the endless war among Celestial Sun and Dead Sun factions, the rules of battlefields, the constant cycle of slaughter.

Nothing deeper, but enough.

He slowly shook his head, a calm smile still upon his lips.

"I hate to break it to you," he said, voice projecting clearly across the ruined sky, "but this Star Union battlefield is now off limits."

Then he smiled wider and activated one of his own decrees.

Because Akasha was an Anomaly, he possessed no fixed decrees. He simply created them according to his will and feeling in the moment.

"By the authority of Dream Land, I declare that the rules of this realm in my Divine Sense radius shall obey my will!"

HUMMMMM!!!

A tremendous wave of Divinity burst forth from his body, shaking the pure air around him.

The surrounding decrees slammed against his proclamation with ferocious force, the atmosphere itself shrieking as rival powers tore and crashed in a wild turmoil.

The instant the survivors realized he had released a decree of such magnitude, terror seized them, and their formation fell into chaos.

Without a second thought, they turned and ran.

Some bolted through the skies at breakneck speed, others ripped open spatial rifts in desperate attempts to teleport away, and a few simply turned tail, running across the scorched earth.

HUMMMMM!!!

But at that moment, Akasha’s will came down upon everything within his Divine Sense like an unseen net, closing in on them all.

Any hope of movement or escape vanished.

Flying became like running on an endless treadmill—no matter how fiercely they beat their wings or exerted every ounce of power into their flight, they didn’t move an inch.

Teleportation only spat them back to the exact spot they’d just left, and any spatial tears snapped shut the moment they appeared.

"Now," Akasha said with a shake of his head. "Any Decree not mine... is useless."

HUMMMMMMMM!!!

BOOOOOOM!!!

The moment his words faded, every single one of their decrees was instantly rendered meaningless, as if wiped from existence.

And then, without pause, the storm of fireballs descended, striking with unerring precision.

Chaotic black-violet spheres slammed into every remaining survivor.

And the cycle from before played out again in all its glory.

Fire burned away, the void consumed, darkness suffocated, chaos warped, and the dream changed every death into a thing both beautiful and final.

When the last fireball faded, silence at last claimed the six million kilometers of ruined battlefield.

Akasha hovered alone in the blood-soaked sky, smiling lightly as he turned his attention to his system.

"Alright... I know you’re watching and probably listening to me," he muttered with resignation as he pulled up his Gacha.

He knew that while the adjacent six million kilometers had been cleared, the war raging on the Star Union battlefield extended endlessly for light years.

So instead of wasting time clearing it all, he decided to stick to his plan and make this very spot the focal point of his second domain.

The reason he wanted to roll his Gacha right now was simple—he wanted a mountain, a special one.

And he was clearly speaking to the one person with complete autonomy over what would come from these rolls.

"Would you do your... ’son’ a favor and give me a nice mountain..." he muttered, as if the words themselves were reluctant to leave his mouth.

---

Far beyond the bounds of existence, in a realm where scenes shifted without end, and the sky itself was an animated canvas of every imaginable vision, Akashi sat gracefully in the air at a floating table of translucent crystal.

She drank tea from a delicate cup, her flawless, almost translucent skin glowing lightly beneath the ever-changing sky.

Her long black hair, darker than the void and marked with white, moved gently.

Through the living sky of her realm, she watched her son like a television, every detail of the blood-soaked battlefield crystal clear.

Hearing his words loud and clear, she laughed — a soft, playful, musical sound.

"Fufufu~ He only acknowledges me when he wants something, huh~," she teased, eyes beaming with affectionate mischief.

She set her porcelain cup down and spoke aloud, her voice gentle yet projecting across realities. The words appeared in front of Akasha like a clean system message.

[What’s your obsession with mountains, hmm? You could ask for any kind of base... so why a mountain?]

---

From her seat, Akashi watched his reaction carefully.

She saw his lips twitch in irritation.

His pure black eyes with grey slits narrowed slightly. His four black-and-grey horns tilted just a fraction as he visibly fought the urge to roll his eyes.

A moment later, his reply came, his voice dull.

"Are you going to help me or not? Because if you don’t plan to help directly, I’ll just keep spinning the Gacha until I get one."

Akashi sipped her tea again, a gentle giggle escaping her.

"Of course I’m going to help," she said warmly. "All you ever have to do is ask for it..."

Her tone changed, becoming sincere and nearly vulnerable.

"...But I’m dying to learn more about you personally, my son."

Although Akashi could see anything she desired without limitation, from the moment of his birth, she had focused solely on Akasha, attentively observing the path his life took.

She’d witnessed his love for mountains and all the things he had accomplished, and while she could easily understand him through delving a little deeper into his being, she chose not to.

It wasn’t out of disinterest, but because she recognized his emotions and acknowledged how she had, in a way, neglected him.

"Tsk... why did my foolish brothers ever suggest such nonsense?" she thought, filled with regret for having listened to her older siblings.

Long ago... they had persuaded her not to spoil Akasha outright, but instead to let him first grasp what it meant to be a "man."

"As if any of them ever struggled a single day in their entire exist—" she began, only to pause as old tales about one of her eldest brothers surfaced in her mind.

"Well..." she murmured, turning her attention back to watching Akasha.

---

On the battlefield, Akasha went completely still.

A long, heavy pause spanned between them.

His eyes flickered with real internal conflict — resentment, longing, and something softer warring under the surface.

Watching that sparkle, Akashi’s playful attitude dimmed slightly, hope and soft sadness mixing within her gaze as she waited.

Finally, Akasha spoke, his voice subdued and genuinely honest for once.

"My time trapped in the illusion on Earth... even though it was pure hell... taught me to love nature, to cherish being alone.

A mountain lets me rise above all the chaos until the very moment I choose to end it.

It’s a source of safety, my solitude, and it stands as the peak — everything that represents who I am."

Hearing those words, Akashi’s expression bloomed into a beautiful, loving mother’s smile — radiant and full of quiet pride.

"What a wonderful outlook, my babyboy~," she uttered softly, softly.

She raised one elegant hand and began waving it through the air.

In front of her, a vast menu of glowing options unfolded — thousands of mountains from across existence, each having unique benefits and appearances.

She browsed through them with lazy grace, her internal thoughts calm and decisive.

’Hmm... None of these feels quite worthy for him... I’ll just make something completely new.’ She thought to herself as she began taking the best pieces of each Mountain... to forge something completely new.

After a few more moments of silent creation, she finished.

A soft, satisfied smile curved her lips.

"It’s done," she announced gently.

Then, with a playful but firm lilt, she added, "But you have to say ’Mommy’... Call me Mommy."

On the battlefield, Akasha’s entire expression changed into pure deadpan resignation.

His lips pursed into a thin line.

Yet before he could refuse, a new status window bloomed in front of his eyes, displaying the effects of the mountain she had just created for him.
