Chapter 105: Convergence In The Land of Yomi (2)
[Space Affinity]
The spear of darkness sank into Akasha’s back and merged into his Void Core as if it had not existed.
In the same breath, he tapped into his Space Affinity, and reality bent around him.
The battlefield expanded and snapped, and suddenly he stood several thousand kilometers away, hovering high above the chaos.
He turned his gaze toward the one who had attacked him.
A faint smile brushed his lips as the information flooded his mind.
---
[Dead Kami Troop
Age: 90,000 Years Old
Rank: Star Union (Tier 19) (BP +18) (Total Power Output = Tier 37)
Race: Dead Kami (Bloodline: Dead Kami (Above Origin)
Affinity: Decay, Darkness
Divinity: 35,200
Star: God Star of Decaying Darkness (Origin)]
---
Seeing this, Akasha gave a faint nod to himself.
’Hmm, nothing too special here...’ he thought, though he did find it interesting that the man possessed a passive ability boosting his BP by +10 in realms of darkness.
Much like the Underside.
The Dead Kami floated opposite him, humanoid in shape but wrong in every way that mattered.
Its skin appeared the shade of old ash, stretched tight over a frame that looked both stalely and rotting.
Gaunt eyes burned with pale green light.
Long, jagged horns curved back from its skull, and darkness held to its body such as a living cloak which constantly dripped and reformed.
Every movement left trails of decay which caused the air itself wither.
Ignoring him for a moment, Akasha’s gaze swept outward.
As far as his senses reached, the sky and land were filled with the same kind of beings — all Star Union, all between Tier 17 and Tier 19.
Millions of them clashing, dying, and rising again in endless waves.
At that moment, he couldn’t spot anyone above his level, nor anyone who could honestly challenge him—just a ceaseless flow of mid-tier warriors tearing into each other.
For him, it was perfect.
Akasha could sometimes be a bit of a battle freak, relishing the rush of the fight, but when there was a task at hand, everything else could easily take a back seat.
However... He didn’t get the chance to finish his assessment.
HUMMMMMM!!!
The Dead Kami roared and charged again, spear reforming in its hand with the manipulation of darkness.
"You reek of the topside! Die already!"
Hearing the man’s voice, Akasha’s concentration shifted back to him... yet the Akasha remained perfectly still.
He simply waited, unmoving.
Then the spear shot through the air, aimed straight for his heart.
At the final possible moment, Akasha moved forward, his body flowing with effortless, perfect grace.
BOOOOOOOOM!!!
His fist shot out — clean, simple, and absolute.
The Dead Kami’s head exploded into a spray of blackened bone and rotting flesh. The body floating in the air for half a second before crumbling to ashes.
SHKKKKK!!!
Before the last flakes of ash had settled, a humanoid figure armored in battered armor burst in from the side, sword already arching toward Akasha’s neck.
Though with the collection of Akasha’s Battle Styles... there was no way he would be caught off guard so easy.
With a slight tilt of his head, the blade sliced the air so close it nearly grazed his throat. Moving with the momentum, Akasha pivoted smoothly, driving his palm hard into the man’s chest.
BOOOOOOM!!!
The human flew backward like a broken doll, ribs caved in, armor shattering as he tumbled through the sky.
Akasha remained in the air for a moment, his black-and-white hair moving softly in the wind, the graceful curve of his horns shining under the light of the seven suns.
A calm, almost teasing smile appeared at his lips.
"Alright... since I’ve shown up in this area," he spoke quietly, his speech effortlessly carrying above the continual screams and far-off explosions.
"Then... I’ll make my own place from this chaos... and claim it as the territory of the second domain."
And the instant those words left his mouth; he sprang into action himself.
---
HUMMMMM!!!
He shot forward as if a living storm, black-and-white hair streaming behind him, four black-and-grey horns shining beneath the broken light of the Underside.
His massive starry wings partially unfurled as he tore through the sky, dodging among minor skirmishes without ever slowing.
At that moment, one of his newer passive traits kicked in. Chaos Incarnate rippled from his body in an unseen wave of sheer disruption, and everywhere he went, the world itself began to shatter.
The air twisted into screaming vortices.
Gravity started acting strangely, reversing itself in certain spots.
Solid ground cracked open into hungry voids that swallowed up entire groups of fighters whole.
The weakest beings within range of his Divine Sense reeled as a primal force crashed into their minds, sending them into a blind, frenzied rampage against their own allies.
He was a walking—no, a flying—disaster by mere existence, a living catastrophe that left the battlefield tearing itself apart in his wake.
[Darkness Affinity]
HUMMMMMM!!!
In moments, he reached the first dense cluster of combatants — a vicious mix of Celestial Sun and Dead Sun beings locked in savage combat — and darkness answered his will.
Black tendrils exploded from every shadow, wrapping around limbs and throats with crushing force.
As their bodies stopped mid-swing, completely still, Akasha’s form merged into motion.
With flawless precision, a single horizontal kick passed through the air.
BANGGGGGG!!!
With just a kick... their heads flew off in a perfect straight line, spinning through the sky like bloody comets before bursting into haze.
[Space Affinity]
Before the headless corpses even began to fall, he was already gone, space was folding reality around him.
BANGGGG!!!
He reappeared a kilometer away with his fist already buried in a Celestial Sun warrior’s chest.
The body detonated in a spray of light and gore.
He disappeared once more, materializing behind a Dead Sun mage, his palm driving clean through the back of its skull.
Anyone who knew Akasha would understand it would take far more strength to even make him consider engaging in a genuine fight.
He was a man who valued efficiency above all else, and in this moment, the battleground was nothing more than a playground for his ceaseless carnage.
In rapid succession, he used his space affinity— only to... vanish, reappear, destroy; vanish, reappear, destroy.
He skipped across the chaos akin to a living glitch in reality, black and red blood trailing his pale, iridescent skin with every life he claimed.
It didn’t take him long to realize that both the Celestial Sun and Dead Sun beings were after his life.
Though they battled each other fiercely, the instant Akasha appeared, both sides simply added another enemy.
They made no distinction—he was simply a target.
And he returned the sentiment with the same cold, detached resolve.
When he at last paused, he floated high above the ruined landscape, body dripping with black and red blood.
His pure black eyes with narrow grey slits swept across the carnage. A slow, almost delighted smile crept over his face as he spread his arms wide.
"Let’s... get this over with," he muttered, determined not to spend weeks or months clearing this space.
No, he would finish it today, right now. With that resolve, he activated five affinities at once.
[Chaos Affinity]
[Void Affinity]
[Darkness Affinity]
[Dream Affinity]
[Fire Affinity]
HUMMMMM!!!
In an instant, massive chaotic fireballs the size of hills blazed into being above him — swirling spheres of black-violet flame laced with void cracks, living darkness, and dreamlike distortions.
And there was no delay from their appearance to the fire balls launching... They poured from the sky like a biblical rain of pure annihilation.
FWOOOOOOM!!!
BOOOOOOOM!!!
BOOOOOOM!!!
Wherever they landed the effects compounded into nightmare.
Flames tore through flesh and armor in searing bursts of heat, while the void hungrily consumed the ashes and erased the very space they had filled.
Darkness snuffed out every trace of light or hint of healing before it could take hold.
Chaos warped the blasts into howling whirlwinds or strange pockets of reversed gravity, hurling bodies skyward in violent disarray.
And lastly... Dreams guaranteed every death was spectacular and final — victims exploded into clouds of glittering nightmare petals or changed into living nightmares that turned on their own allies before turning into nothing.
Instantly... the entire battlefield became a burning, screaming, beautiful hellscape of absolute ruin.
HUMMMMMM!!!
However, in that very moment, before the surrounding six million kilometers were fully cleared by Akasha’s attack, thousands of remaining beings started to unleash their decrees, ranging from the Celestial to Stellar rank.
And, as always, decrees could only be countered by other decrees, with every being in existence possessing one type of decree per category.
This meant there was an Attack, Defensive, or Auxiliary decree at each level.
Well... every being, perhaps, except Akasha.
