Chapter 103: A Chat with Kalpa - Evolution Tasks

Akasha remained silent for a long moment, leaning back on the throne as he let the flood of revelations settle.

Yume spoke up first, her voice cool and direct.

"Well, this explains a great deal... but it still doesn’t fully account for the current state of the Great Severance or the finer details of everything unfolding."

Akasha chuckled lowly at her bluntness and the noticeable coldness in her tone toward the Wanderer.

Luna grinned, leaning in to tease her with a playful nudge.

"Fufufu~ Look at you, truly getting all sharp and icy. How cute."

Yume’s icy exterior slipped for just a moment, a faint, flustered smile tugging at her lips before she quickly composed herself again.

Kalpa studied her for a long moment before turning its faceless silhouette toward Akasha.

Beneath the hood, there was nothing—only a void where a face should be, shadows shifting in an emptiness that seemed to consume the light.

Akasha frowned, eyeing the strange, formless figure.

"Wait... What’s with your look? You don’t have a real face... or anything actually to see."

Kalpa smiled eerily—nothing but pure white teeth flashing in the shifting void.

With a mere thought, its form shifted into that of a beautiful woman, elegant and ethereal, radiating ancient power.

"Well, does this form please the Son of the Stars more?"

Akasha’s frown deepened immediately, irritation flashing across his features.

"Uhh...change back," he ordered, voice edged with clear distaste. "And never do that shit again."

From behind them, Liliana let out a short, involuntary laugh.

The sound caught Akasha’s attention for a split second, but he disregarded it, thinking,

’I seriously need to speed things up for the sake of my peace.’

He sighed and asked, "So... what is the current state of the Pantheons?"

The Wanderer—once again cloaked and faceless—spoke calmly.

"Right... Amaterasu leads the Celestial Sun Pantheon, a faction that grows stronger with every burst of life throughout the Orin Star System.

Izanami rules the Dead Sun Pantheon, drawing power from all death and decay within it."

It went on, its voice carrying the weight of centuries.

"When I went dormant, I sealed myself within a barrier.

Now, only eighty-nine years remain until it opens.... I also shut down the oceans and the gateways to the Underside, for that is where the Great Severance still rages even now."

Akasha took a moment to absorb it all, then nodded with a slow, confident smile spreading across his face.

Behind him, Liliana’s eyes widened sharply, her heart pounding with sudden intensity.

’The Underside... that’s where I need to go.’

The realization burned bright and urgent within her.

While Akasha rose from the throne, his starry wings spreading slightly as he addressed Kalpa directly.

"Alright... so that you know, I don’t plan on being anyone’s savior."

No matter the situation, if things became too dire, he had no problem abandoning the entire world and starting over. Especially now, with all the power he possessed... and his Gacha system.

He wouldn’t hesitate to let the world burn if threats beyond his ability ever appeared.

"But since this is now my home... I won’t allow any foreigners to lay a hand on it."

He smiled, sharp and assured.

"However... so that we can be on the same page... Form a connection with me."

Kalpa gazed at him for a long moment, the weight of an entire world lingering in its eyes.

"A Child of the Stars..." it murmured, certain from the shared knowledge of all Celestial beings. To worlds, a Child of the Stars was like a golden ticket.

Then, a sharp streak of pure purple divinity shot forward, embedding itself deep into Akasha’s chest.

A new status screen flickered into view before him.

[Allow connection to the world of Kalpa?]

Seeing this, he accepted without hesitation.

HUMMMMM!!!!!

Power and vast knowledge coursed through him, intoxicating and profound.

When it was over, Akasha glanced back at Kalpa and, just before he began to fade from the ruins, gave one final order.

"Oh, right... old friend, unlock the oceans."

----

As Akasha vanished from the throne, the vast emptiness of the ruins felt suddenly larger. Liliana remained floating alone in the void, her crimson coat drifting gently around her.

The Wanderer—Kalpa—turned its faceless silhouette toward her.

"It looks like you received what you came for as well."

Before she could respond, the ancient being began dissolving into pure, shimmering essence.

"You may now continue your journey."

HUMMMM!!!!

In that instant, massive surges of power erupted across the entire world of Kalpa.

Liliana felt them ripple through the void like tidal waves—raw divinity flooding back into dormant oceans, ancient gateways stirring to life, and the world itself awakening with a deep, resonant hum that vibrated through her bones.

She clenched her fist tightly, nails digging into her palm as the overwhelming weight settled on her shoulders.

So much was building at once.

’Mother... Father... Amber... and Husband...’ The names echoed in her mind like a painful refrain.

She couldn’t afford to fall behind.

Beneath the chaos of emotions, a small, confident, and utterly determined smile played on her blood-red lips.

She remained silent, her figure dissolving effortlessly into a single, glistening drop of blood that drifted soundlessly into the void, carrying her onward toward whatever lay ahead in the unknown.

----

Akasha stood high in the skies above the ruins, his starry wings spread wide as he gazed out over Kalpa.

All across the world, brilliant surges of divinity lit up the horizon like auroras—oceans shimmering back to life, portals to the Underside flaring open with swirling, mysterious energy.

The air itself felt charged, alive with returning power.

Luna hovered beside him, her purple and pink hair drifting in the cosmic breeze as she smiled with clear excitement.

"Looks like things are about to become much more exciting... and perhaps dangerous."

Akasha nodded, already several steps ahead in his mind, calculating moves and contingencies.

"I know... and that only means I need to get a move on much quicker."

He then glanced inward at his pending Evolution Tasks, the glowing notifications materializing before his eyes.
