Chapter 47: 47: An Idea
Sunnie smiled at them as she turned and stared around the waters. "I just have to spread something around the water, and it should be able to clean up the water in a while."
Sunnie had made her purchase of a good amount of lime from the system store. So it would be enough to treat the water if she could spread it around.
She explained this to them as Zukka asked, "But how do you plan on doing that? I mean, you have to fly around the water to do that..."
Sunnie nodded. "Well, yeah, it does."
"I think he can help with that," Zuna suggested, pointing at Karl. "He has wings and can fly you around while you do that..."
Sunnie turned to stare at Karl. Karl too glared at her; he didn’t seem happy with the idea at all. He had a clear frown on his face. But Sunnie didn’t seem to care.
"That’s actually a good idea," Sunnie smiled, folding her arms.
"What?" Karl asked as Sunnie approached him. He stepped backwards. "What do you want?"
Sunnie ran her fingers through his chest while staring into his eyes with a smile. "Just help out here. It won’t cost you much."
Karl scoffed. "Dream on. That’s not going to happen at all."
But Sunnie smiled, leaning closer as she said in a whisper, "It’s either that, or I’ll tell them you’re the cause of their problems and that you’re a bad omen and have them throw you back in jail."
Karl glared at her. "Is that a threat?"
Sunnie shrugged. "I don’t know?"
They both stared at each other for a while, Sunnie smiling innocently while Karl cast her a cold glare without words.
The others stared, curious to know what would happen.
And without much words, Karl said, "Make it quick. I don’t enjoy carrying heavy things."
"...." Sunnie was speechless.
But this wasn’t the time to fight. She’d get back to him later!
Sunnie got the bag of lime and they all watched her. She held it firmly at her side as Karl swept her off her feet.
Carrying her in his arms, he took to the air and flew through the river.
While he flew around the river, Sunnie sprinkled the lime all over, letting it reach every part of the water. She took her time doing this, casting a generous amount over the river. And when they were done, they got back down.
"That looked so fun... I wish I could do that," Little Black looked disappointed.
Sunnie smiled as Karl put her down. "Don’t worry, maybe next time you will."
Little Black turned and glared at Zukka. "It’s all your fault."
Sunnie announced that she was done with the treatment. She informed them that it would take some time for the results to show and urged them to wait until morning or so.
After that, they all retired back to the tribe, with Little Black biting Zukka’s hand to free himself from him.

That evening, Sunnie had fed the sick with another round of medication. The first one was positively taking effect, so there was progress.
Now she applied another medication on them and suggested that they would get much better with this one. Zuna assisted with feeding most of the patients.
And after they were done, the Chief Elder thanked her. "We’re so grateful for your help. Most of them have already woken up because of your magical medications."
Sunnie smiled. "No worries. I also have to thank you for sparing the little one who bit the hands of the heir." Sunnie feared they’d take off Little Black’s head when he hit Zukka.
But the Chief Elder shook his head. "Don’t mention it. We believe he’s still little. Besides, you and the heir spoke on his behalf, so that does it."
Zukka smiled. "He’s cute. So I’ll let it pass."
Sunnie smiled as she stared at the patients she had taken care of. "Well, that should do it. I’ll be taking my leave to retire for today."
"I’ll see you two out," Zukka requested.
Sunnie smiled it off. "Don’t worry at all. I’ll leave with Zuna here."
He nodded as she walked off with Zuna. As the two of them left the cave, Little Black joined them as they walked down the surroundings.
The place was partially bustling with women moving around with pots for meals and water. Some doing night chores and all. But this time, they had smiles on their faces.
The night seemed to be an active one for the people, Sunnie observed. The men seemed to be sharpening their weapons while practicing some ritualistic dance or something. The women were cleaning up in preparation for something.
It was as though something was happening that Sunnie wasn’t aware of.
"So are they going to take off my head?" Little Black inquired.
Sunnie smiled. "Don’t worry, the heir you bit spoke for you, so you’re safe."
Little Black frowned. "It’s not like he’s a good person though."
Sunnie folded her arms. "He said you were cute, so he’ll let it pass."
Little Black frowned more. "He’s certainly not a good person at all!"
Zuna smiled. "My brother must really adore you then."
"I don’t need his adoration!" Little Black folded his arms, looking away.
Sunnie and Zuna laughed at his reaction as Sunnie looked around the bustling preparatory activities. "What’s happening, though?"
"Oh. Tomorrow is some sort of event for the men," she explained. "It’s a kind of festive contest where the men compete for the title of the bravest beastman roar."
Sunnie raised an eyebrow. "Is that so? There’s such a thing?"
"Yes," Zuna nodded. "It’s a roar ceremony where they roar to the sun god to ask for protection in the upcoming hunting festival. And then compete amongst each other to know which of the men have the greatest roar. It’s a festival all beastmen look up to as it highlights their strength. And the winner of the roar gets to lead the hunting festival."
As she explained, Sunnie nodded. And immediately, she had an interesting idea.
