Chapter 224: 224: It’s Obvious

Sunnie had gotten dressed and came out to meet the other women preparing some meals. Some of them were also there, helping out.

Karl was left in a corner with Maren, Mii, and Ronan. He already looked tired and exhausted from babysitting the three of them. So when he saw Sunnie come out, he found himself smiling in relief.

"Mama!" Ronan called happily as he rushed toward Sunnie. The little one was running so fast as though he hadn’t seen her for ages, and he was moving with such speed that could easily knock Sunnie down.

Sunnie stood there with a smile, arms spread as the little one approached.

But before Ronan could throw himself at Sunnie, Eris immediately stepped in between them. He stood before Sunnie and stopped Ronan by picking him up in his arms instead.

"What? I want Mama!" Ronan insisted.

But Eris shook his head. "No! You can’t run like that to Mama. If you do, Mama will get hurt." He insisted.

"But Mama..." Ronan tried saying.

"Mama is not in the best health now. So you have to be gentle with Mama... okay? Don’t run like that, or you’ll make Mama be in pain." He instructed the little one. "Okay?"

Ronan slowly nodded. "Yes, I will."

Eris smiled. "That’s a good boy." He said, patting him on the ears.

Sunnie stared at him while shaking her head. Everyone else also stared and looked at each other.

"I think we’re about to get another possessive one," Karl said as he went to sit down beside Zayn. Zayn casually smiled while he continued sharpening the wood he was working on.

Eris then set Ronan down, and the little one rushed to Sunnie to tell her about everything that happened that morning and how Maren didn’t want to play with him anymore.

Sunnie simply listened with a nod while nodding. Eris stood at a distance, watching and monitoring the kid so he wouldn’t crash into Sunnie.

Sunnie had watched the women prepare meals for a while and decided to help them out with the other dishes.

"No," Eris had instantly stepped in. "That would be too much work for you. I can’t let you work in that state at all."

Sunnie blinked, staring at him.

Everyone else also paused and stared.

The leader of the chipmunks blinked as he asked, "And what’s wrong with him?"

The other chipmunks shrugged.

Little Black sighed as he ran a finger through his chin. "I don’t know why I’m getting a feeling about this..."

"The same pattern..." Zukka agreed, also running his hand through his chin. The two sat beside each other, staring at the scene.

Sunnie smiled. "Don’t worry, I can handle it."

But Eris shook his head. "No. I’m still worried that you might fall down and hurt your hand or something. Or even your stomach—what do we do then? No, I can’t let you risk it at all. Instead, leave it to me... I’ll do all the cooking and all."

Even Luka had to cover Maren and Ronan’s eyes while Maren brushed off his hands to take a peek, smiling at the scene.

Elza and the other women stared at each other with a smile and shook their heads.

Elza walked up to the couple displaying affection before their eyes and said, "Mr. Fox, you don’t have to worry about your rabbit, okay? Even if she’s bearing your baby, she’ll still be fine because she needs to work to stay sane. You should know that from her other pregnancies now... okay?" She teased.

Immediately, Eris turned and stared at her. "Huh? How did you know she was pregnant? That was supposed to be a surprise. How did you know?" He blinked as he stared at Sunnie. "Did you tell her?"

Sunnie smiled along with the other women around.

"No one needs to say anything. You’re already being a bit too obvious. Or just too obvious," one of the women said.

"Exactly. So let your dear rabbit do the work she needs to do to calm down... your cub will be alright."

Eris blinked again as he said, "I knew they’d be able to tell." He smiled, placing a hand over Sunnie’s stomach. "My aura is just too powerful that you could even feel it from her stomach and all."

The women shook their heads while smiling as they continued their cooking.

Sunnie also smiled as she said, "Sure, sure. Now go and take a break. I’ll go and cook now."

Eris hesitated and then said, "Be careful. Remember to stop when you feel tired. Okay?"

She nodded with a smile. "Okay, sure. Now can I go?"

Eris hesitated and then stared at her stomach again. "Okay."

Sunnie went to cook while Eris sat down closely with the other beast husbands, sharpening woods as part of their work.

"Stop staring at her every second. She’s not going to disappear into thin air," Little Black teased. He wasn’t working at all but sitting around there and eating carrots.

"Shut up. You’re so young and have no mates to know what it feels like. So kids shouldn’t talk here," Eris snapped as he continued staring at Sunnie working.

Little Black rolled his eyes as he said, "I don’t need any of that now." He said as he munched on his carrot.

Zukka, who was sitting beside Little Black and working, smiled as he defended him. "Yes, he doesn’t need that now." He stared at Little Black with a smile. "Right?"

Little Black glared at him. "Shut up," he snapped as Zukka smiled while working.
